Kanguru FlashBlu30 – 64GB USB Flash Drive – Physical Write Protection Switch - Super Fast USB 3.0

Its annoying when people don't understand what they are buying and give bad reviews on a device that is actually brilliant. This flash drive is literally the one of only a few on the market that actually support physical write-protection that windows CANNOT bypass. You might not believe me but most other flash devices, sd cards that have write-protection are not physical but actually software driven when they read that little side switch on the device. On the inferior devices, windows or a virus can bypass the lock on those drives - believe it or not. However this is not possible on the Kanguru - its impossible. This is the only device you can safely plug into another computer and not worry about an infection or loss of data. Its also the best device to create a multi-boot virus busting drive that will be safe to use again. For me it has been reliable and well built with no problems so far. Highly recommend!

The Read & Write speeds are very quick coupled together with the physical switch to make the drive contents Read Only and the secure / digitally signed firmware makes this USB Flash drive very hard to beat. It also has an activity red light that flashes when the drive is accessed. I use it to host the .iso for TAILS with no persistence with the option of moving to the .img version of TAILS with persistence if I need too. Highly Recommend.

This is the second write protect usb drive I’ve purchased, when you buy used computer equipment having your OS and Wiping software with write protection keeps the operating system files safe from virus and malware so one usb is to wipe used hard drives and the second is to reinstall the operating system, the way if the previous owner has virus or malware on the os then it can’t infect the usb drive so you know the systems darter than if you use any old usb drive. These are fast and decent quality USB drives and look nice also, it’s worth the extra cost for the peace of mine for write protect drives

I do computer repairs and can safely put these flash drive into other people's computers that may have malware installed because of the handy read-only switch. I cannot understand why there are so few of these available but, well done to Kanguru for producint hem.

Does exactly what it says. Is fast for reading and writing. Note the switch will only work if it is in the correct position before connecting to PC, so set it to the position you want first.

Stupidly expensive but when, for a living, your are going to be connecting your important USB stick to potentially infected PCs, you simply must have the peace-of-mind of a write-disabled stick. And I say this from bitter experience!

I was looking particularly for a USB 3.0 stick with physical write protect. There's not too many such devices on the market, I've managed to found only three and Kanguru seemed the best. However, I'm quite disappointed with the device quality, especially with the wrote protection switch. Well, let's start with the fact you receive a different device that presented on the picture attached to the offer. The difference is not substantial but clear - see the picture. I may be wrong but the one in the picture looks more solid that the one actually received. The device looks and feels like a cheap marketing no-name stick. In fact it is very likely it's one of them, as I have three exactly the same devices: one was indeed given me for free at some event while two others came with F-Response software. The cap is quite solid but unfortunately easily falls off the stick. Certainly it's not the quality one would expect from a drive priced much over its competitors. It looks we pay extra for the write-protection switch and that's probably the weakest point (!!!). It's way too lose and has no protection that would keep it in place to prevent unwanted position changes (and since it stand out from the casing, it's extremely easy to do so). It does the job, but that's all. You feel you've purchased the a temporary substandard solution. It may be just the one particular piece that I've received, but the impression is definitely negative. I guess I might have received a fake device as it differs from the one offered.

El producto lo compre como un regalo para alguien que constantemente tenia problemas de que sus memory sticks se infectaban con virus al ir a imprimir en comercios públicos. Bueno, no tuvo problemas con virus con este memory stick, eso es seguro. En vez de eso perdió toda su información cuando el firmware dejo de funcionar por completo. Es decir que ni dándole nuevo formato se podía utilizar el dispositivo. Ahora tenemos un pequeño pisapapeles. El servicio técnico de Kanguru no dio mas apoyo que decir que necesitarían que les enviara yo de vuelta el producto pero que era mas barato comprar uno nuevo. Es en serio, eso fue lo que me dijeron. ¡Ni loco voy a comprar uno nuevo! ¿Para que quiero yo dos pisapapeles?

J'ai choisi cette clé mémoire USB 3.0 car elle dispose d'un petit bouton physique qui une fois activé empêche l'écriture (création d'un nouveau fichier ou modification d'un fichier existant). De plus, elle possède un firmware sécurisé contre l'espionnage avec notamment la faille BadUSB découverte récemment : [.....] Avec la future loi sur le renseignement, j'ai décidé d'y installer une distribution Linux nommée Tails : [....] Ce système d'exploitation est basé sur le cryptage et l'anonymat, il peut être installé sur une clé USB, une carte mémoire ou un support optique. La reconnaissance du périphérique ne pose bien sûr aucun problème sur mon Windows 7 (64 bits) et l'installation de l'image ISO avec le logiciel portable Universal USB installer 1.9.5.9 s'est déroulée correctement. Ensuite j'ai éteint mon PC et connecté la clé, le démarrage de Tails OS s'est lui aussi bien passé. Certaines clés USB peuvent poser problème : [......] Comment échapper à la surveillance de masse : [......] [......] Et voilà une loi qui ne sert à rien.

Seems to work well and is reasonably fast. The switch on the side is not very robust, but it does work.

Lieferung war sehr schnell und der USB-Stick ist genau das, was ich brauche. Schreibschutz is physisch und funktioniert sehr zuverlassig. Ich bin Computer Techniker und reparieren alle Arten von Computern. Für mich ist der Schreibschutz der wichtigste, da er mich vor virusinfektionen schützt. Dass der USB-Stick etwas teurer ist, nehme ich gerne in Kauf.
