We have been through a few of these units over the years. No issues with motor. We have replaced a number of flex cable but considering that our technicians put them to the task. Not an issue. Very easy to use, very good quality

Very good product, much better than using a Dremel.
I bought this when the Dremel died (after 2 uses).. this machine does exactly what it says it will do, no fuss. It could use with some innovation, it's pretty much an electric motor with a flexible shaft.. so no surprises there, but how about some protection for the motor from sawdust? a better hanger, something that can clip and hold onto a hanging arm. It would be nice to trade in the manual chuck key for something tool-less.. ** Update after a year of ownership ** Good value for money, I carved the nautical things in the pic's in cedar 4x4's used for some stairs up to my boat. The foot pedal speed control takes a minute to get good at, and you need to setup your station so it's comfortable to hold the speed for a while. Also - make sure you grease the interior flexible drive shaft every once in a while. just unscrew from the motor, pull the shaft out of the exterior plastic cable casing (or metal if you have the new one)

The service and response is fantastic
The great people at Go2Home were incredible when it came to servicing my unit. I had a bit of trouble at first with the extended warranty people, but after speaking to them, they finally came through after initially rejecting my claim for a refund. It was past the warranty period, but was covered for a longer period with the extended warranty. Meanwhile, the folks at Go2Home, on their own, sent me a replacement free of charge. You just don't find great service like that in many places any more. I ended up sending them the money for that one once I received a check from the extended warranty people. All around great service and this one's performing well for my jewelry making hobby.

Get the protection plan. Broke after a year of occasional use
I used this sporadically. Maybe once a month for about an hour to polish or sand something small with quick jobs about once a week to drill a hole through a resin pendant. I pulled the motor brushes out not too long ago and they were only worn down a few millimeters. It broke without warning, the motor just stopped so now itโs going back and Iโm glad I bought the protection plan. If youโre getting this to use regularly, buy a Foredom instead. I was happy with this product but canโt really go above 1 star with how it quit on me.

Not great, gets really hot fast
Works pretty well, but you have to set a timer. The flex shaft is so hot after 5 min, the rubber is blistering. It started burning my leg while using. Very dangerous.

Shouldn't have waited so long to buy it
I've been using Dremel tools for a couple of decades. I wanted a Fordome but they were very expensive. I've been using this tool for a couple of weeks and It is a pleasure to work with. The foot peddle takes the motor right down to a few of RPM, almost to as stop. I know some reviews complain about the foot feed and speed control but this one works well. It also came with an extra cable.

It's not perfect...but it's pretty darn good
Because of my mechanical background I realized immediately that the drive cable would probably be installed in the factory WITHOUT any worthwhile lubricant....and I was MORE than correct..there was NONE...hence I believe, all the complaints about cables breaking. I have, but would have purchased if I didn't, a large tub of Lithium grease...sometimes called 'White' grease....just EXACTLY what you need in this application. I would recommend doing it and here are the easy instructions after you have a good supply of that grease at hand 1. Undo the cable retainer...the black knob thingee that attaches the cable to the motor and be aware the thread is LEFT-HAND... Once out push...with your finger..as much grease down the open end of the tube...once you have pulled the cable out and continue to do so until no more grease can be forced down...it took me about 4 or 5 pushes with my finger to force enough down. Now lubricate the cable itself as much as possible...and it is a messy job but you'll be very grateful in years to come. Now feed the cable inside the tube..it will be pretty hard now thatr it's full of grease but it will go..bit by bit. When you get to the end you m9ight need to turn the motor a bit to allow the square end of the cable to engage in the motor. Now tighten the Black knurled knob....remember to turn LEFT to tighten and you're done and I'm pretty confident it will now last a long time. If I have any problems I will update this review when I do but so far it sounds a little noisy but good. One suggestion for the manufacturer...a stand to hold the motor SHOULD be included in the kit....as well as a plastic box to contain it. I own a Dremmel knock-off and cheap though it was it came with a stand to hang it and a box to hold the motor, cable and even the stand itself. It would separate you from the other manufacturers and cost very little and it would be well worth it. The motor is VERY TORQUEY so be aware of it the first time you turn it on...it's 1/4 hp....not sure if it really is but it sure is torquey.
