DC Comics: Anatomy of a Metahuman

If you've ever wanted to know how and why DC Comics characters like Superman, Cyborg, Swamp Thing, Cheetah, Killer Frost, and others, have the powers and abilities they do, then this book might be worth your interest. The book is written from the analytical point of view of Batman/Bruce Wayne. He writes the book as a precaution so that it can't be hacked off a computer. In it he carefully studies each subject with detailed cutaway illustrations of each subject's information. The book only covers a few characters, but the amount of in-depth detail is incredible. But that's Batman for you. The World's Greatest Detective is very detailed and informative. A fun in-universe read on some of the DC Comics Universe's different characters' powers and abilities.

Create comic, definitely worth reading and has great illustrations.

If you are torn by "maturity" and starting to believe that comics are for kids, give this book a pass. If you love the larger-than-life characters that live in comics, specially DC Comics, and just like to enjoy an artbook made entirely from them, then this is a book for you. You won't learn anything extraordinary or ground breaking about DC's heroes, there's not a story behind the book (actually there is some sort of a story [Batman's paranoia]), nor it's a Grey's Anatomy for meta humans (although it's evident that the author drew inspiration from that book). It is a book for the pure enjoyment of the art, Batman's notes and a little backstory over something purely fictional. If you buy this book, hopefully you'll enjoy it as I am; just don't expect that, after reading it, you''l be able to perform surgery provided a Kriptonian and a kriptonite scalpel. 5*

Awesome! While not as big or detailed as the Marvel Anatomy(Which I have and love) still really cool. Being from the perspective of Batman is a nice touch. Only thing I would change is adding more characters(which it kind of implies there may be a volume 2 upcoming). I will most certainly purchase if another volume is released. A must have for any DC fan. No complaints.

This book is very cool, I think that I like it better than the marvel version personally. There is more content and the content is more thorough. However, there is one thing that is really weird. How did they pick the characters they were going to highlight? I would have been very happy if they had picked the main justice league characters, but they left off Flash. They covered Cheetah, Bane and Killer Croc, why not do an entire book on Batman metahumans, you certainly have enough with Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Clayface, and Man Bat and others, alongside Bane, and Killer Croc. I don't know, it seems a little thrown together. Superman probably could also have an entire book on his enemies, instead of having Darkseid, Doomsday, and Bizarro, just thrown in this one. There was an amazing opportunity for them to do interesting books, focusing on these characters, and make money for DC. The art is excellent, but the execution is a little slapdash.

I'm a long DC fan, grew up on comics from the 80's all the way up to present. Always intrigued by the 'science' of superheroes so this book appealed to me greatly. I love the Journal entry style and presentation greatly and have added it to my collection. I love sharing the images and journal entries with my son and have some interesting conversations about the content. A great buy for the superhero fan in your life

Este libro es una guia analitica escrita por Bruce Wayne (Batman) para una situacion de emergencia (Referencia al arca de la Liga de la justicia: Torre de Babel) o usarlo para curiosidad del lector. Viene un analisis sobre superman y otros heroes o villanos. Utilizando datos biomedicos tanto propios de Bruce o de organizaciones secretas. Este esta del tamaño de un atlas o artbook frances o sea muy largo. Lo unico malo es que los que envian son 4 ediciones en delante. Y tambien tiene una postal dentro pero puede dañar el libro. En mi caso se daño 5 hojas al final pero no tan grave. Solo recomiendo quitarla.
