Feel safer with this alarm
This is worth the money! I researched pool alarms when I became a grandma. This alarm is pricey, but worth the money. The alarm is easy to set up. The home unit is VERY loud. It works when something falls or drops into the pool and even when the solar cover is lifted. I bought this last summer. When I tried to use it this user, it wouldn’t work. I emailed tech support and told them what was happening and sent pictures of my unit and the app. They sent me a new pool unit for free. Would highly recommend this company!

Had high hopes....Very disappointing. Why can't they get this right???
The past few weeks have been great! We had such peace of mind knowing we had this as a 2nd layer of protection. It worked great, passed every test with flying colors and we loved that it would re-set itself after we swam. But then, sadly, the reviews proved true: Now we're getting random false alarms throughout the day and night when the pool is perfectly still (see photo) not a ripple, not a breeze. Which thank God, brought to my attention that it was malfunctioning in other ways too. Aside from the false alarms, it wasn't protecting our pool when we thought it was. I tried turning it off and on, changing the sensitivity, checked the batteries, nothing has worked. It goes from being "ON" to "STANDBY" automatically offering us ZERO protection without us knowing. When it did manage to stay "ON" it failed every test run. We would have to be on top of it splashing for the alarm to sound. SO SCARY and DISAPPOINTING. LIFE BUOY - If your going to make a product to help prevent drowning, PLEASE make a product that is reliable and that WORKS!!! There are lives at stake here. If GOD FORBID, a child or pet drowns with one of these in the pool, where the family thought it was working and trusted this....?????????? Isn't there a product out there that actually works? It's hard to comprehend why with today's technology and resources, no one can get this right. The app is a whole other story. Crap. You have to be standing next to the unit for it to work. Lifebuoy Pool Alarm System - Great concept, bad execution. NOT RELIABLE. SO disappointing.

Update II - Stopped working after a few month
Stopped working after a few month - wrote an email to the company and they sent me a replacement, whcih works so far. Good customer service as they sent a new device, let's wait how long it will work, hopefully it will last more than one pool season. For that price it should last a few years one might think. Warranty expires after a year, a bummer if it brakes again after that year. Will keep you updated! Update in new Pool Season 2022: Still having issues, you arm it and after a few hours you see that it's suddenly disarmed. Did not touch it in the meantime. So this is not really helping me saving my kids from drowning. No, i would not recommend to buy it, sorry... UPDATE JUNE 2022: I got contacted by the support team, they did send me a new home unit, which made the connection better, but still failed a couple of times, then i received additional a new pool unit and now everything seems to work. So the customer service is really good . i changed from 1 star to 5 stars because of the good customer service!

Kind of sensitive
We need this because we have kids and a pool. BUT it goes off too much making us take the batteries out and not using it. We will be outside and it will alarm when we want to get in the pool. It’s doesn’t know. So we have to shut it off and remember to turn it off when we know we want to swim. It also goes off for “no” reason. The product is good but it’s not for us.

Warranty
Overall quality of the product is fair. The unit operated perfectly for about 9 months, at the 10 month mark, the pool unit started setting off between 5-10 false alarms per day. Tech support believes there could be moisture or water inside the circuit board area. Lifebuoy and Adi from customer service was very helpful and replaced the pool unit based on the warranty. The device has a 12 month warranty so I’d highly recommend you keep receipts.

Great Pool Alarm
This is my 3rd summer using this system...I have an above ground pool with small children. We have a locked gate and alarms on our house doors but I felt I needed one more notification alarm for the pool. This alarm is loud and effective to all disturbances to the surface of the water. I can adjust the sensitivity with the app on my phone. Super easy to install... I opened the box, downloaded the app, made sure the batteries were on, and place the unit in the pool with the provided string that has lasted all 3 summers. The inside unit looks like a smoke detector and easy to push to turn off the alarm. A few minor issues include: when you replace the batteries in the house unit the wires are short and makes getting the 9v battery a little difficult to get in or out without pulling too hard on a wire. And the pool unit collected moisture last year and corroded the batteries but the company immediately sent me out a new pool unit that is working perfectly! The price was a bit much but worth the peace of mind. I never let my guard down with the pool and my kids but this Alarm has been very helpful and I highly recommend it!

GOOD NOT GREAT - and then it stopped working
UPDATED REVIEW I purchased this product about a year ago when we had finished building our pool and my greatest concern has always been my 2 year old daughter who loves the water. As much as I provide swimming lessons, she is still just a baby and I highly doubt her ability to save herself in a serious situation. I NEED this alarm for my sanity. Does this give false alarms? Yes. Does the app suck? Yes. Does this have the potential to save my daughter’s life? YES. It definitely works. The pros outweigh the cons for me, which is why I can abide the alarm going off at 3 am because of rain and terrorizing my neighbors. I would normally give this 5 stars but it completely stopped working on me. I changed the batteries on both the pool and home unit but they do not connect anymore. No matter what I do. It beeps and then turns off after 5 seconds. I also get an alert saying that there’s WiFi interference but this product doesn’t work with WIFI so I am thrown off by that. I am hoping customer service will help with this issue but until then I will be giving 1 star.

Just remember to take it out or turn it off in high winds and storms.

We have a pool right next to our house which is impossible to fence the device warns us if the surface of the water in the pool is disturbed.

First of all it was very easy to set up and is easy to operate through the app. The indoor unit needs to be placed as close as possible to the pool unit to ensure a good connection, however consider that you will need to access the indoor unit frequently. I placed the indoor unit high up and close to the ceiling as I didn't want the kids messing with it. As I am tall this is fine for me, but my partner cannot reach it now without standing on a chair, which is an issue due to the frequent nuisance alarms. I am reluctant to lower the unit as it looks better high up but may have to do to the number of nuisance alarms. The system works as intended as we find the alarm goes off if we go swimming and forget to turn it off. However, the pool unit is extremely sensitive even on the least sensitive setting, light wind and ripples will trigger the alarm. Due to the high number of nuisance alarms, sometimes in the middle of the night, we have to turn the unit off whenever the weather is less than perfect which kind of defeats the purpose of the system. It is therefore a battle between ensuring the system is on and operating and also not dealing with nuisance alarms. In summary, does it work well? YES, is it a perfect solution? NO. I wouldn't rely on it as a standalone safety device but in addition to a certified fence it serves a purpose. Just know that it isn't a set and forget device and will need frequent attention.

Bought this for the summer - it works but you need more than one to feel safer around our pool (10m by 5) - it can be slow to alert
