Versatile, sturdy, and fun to use!
This does exactly what it is intended to do, is easy to use, and good for both right and left-handed people. I am no professional on coffee grinding, but I do know this has been really useful and fun for my experiments! I love my mini coffee grinder! It is super simple to set up, store, and transport. It is small enough to take with you in something like a purse or backpack, and is sturdy enough to not break from bumping into things. It comes with a handy little brush to help clean it out! My favorite thing is that this is suitable for both left and right-handed people. When one arm gets tired, I switch to my other arm and turn in the opposite direction. This has reduced the time it takes for me to grind things because it would take 2-4 minutes with one arm (and breaks) and now takes 1-2 minutes. It is a bit noisy, so I try to step out of the room if others are there with me. I appreciate that the manual came with what grind size is recommended for certain methods (ex. pour over vs espresso). I have used mine for both pour overs and espresso and have gotten absolutely delicious results! It is definitely a plus to be able to change the grind size by just one notch. I enjoy that I can get both fine and coarse grounds to achieve my desired flavor profile. When grinding for my espresso, I do half on a lower setting and half on a higher one (1-2 notches) so that I get the crema and flavor that I enjoy. Despite having 40 settings, I've found that mixing 2 grinds gives me my preferred results for the coffee I use. I have also used this for non-coffee things, such as cinnamon, although I'm not sure how much wear that has put on this. I "refresh" my coarse pre-ground coffee by running it through on a finer setting and it helps bring out the flavor more. This has been helpful since people buy me coffee as a gift, but I don't get good crema from pre-ground coffee. My only complaint is that I never know how to store the handle. I can leave the glass part screwed on at the bottom when putting this away, but the handle is just a little awkward since it doesn't fully lay flat when you take it off.

Nice little grinder
This coffee grinder is great for small servings. If you are making a 12 cup pot you might want a larger grinder or know you will have to fill this one a few times. I have read articles about making a great cup of coffee but while they will tell you to weigh the coffee down to the tenth of a gram and carefully measure the water down to the precise millilitre they don't tend to stress grind. Just fine medium or coarse depending on your brew method. This grinder has excellant control over how coarse a grind you will get. You can buy the same beans from your roaster and not really get the same bean. I like Ethiopian beans, but one order may have come from a different plantaion or the next may have been roasted under different weather conditions. The control over the grind lets you correct your coffee. Not smooth enough, go a little coarser. Not getting enough boldness, try finer. You will find that one roast of beans works best with a grind setting of 20, the next from the same geographic region and roaster may need a 17 setting. Not to mention a morning where you just need a something different and want to go for a large setting change. This little grinder works well for these kind of grind changes. Gives you great control over what taste you are going to end up with and seems durable after 3 monthes use. It was a purchase where I got the value I paid for.

Buy It. Works great! No problems 5 months in.
I’ve had this now for 5 months. It works great. I grind beans every two days, so it has had plenty of use now. No problems with the handle, jar, or anything else. I use reusable k-cups. This grinder produces enough grinds for just over 2 cups of coffee. Mi e is set to 7, which is a bit fine for the reusable k-cups, but it works for me. A setting if 10-12 may be better for some.

Great price - "out of the box" burr/axle has too much play for consistent output
5 stars for price, 'dial in' feaute, and static free glass bottom. -2 for inconsistent grind size. [updated to 4 stars - update at bottom] Set the grinder setting around 30-40, remove the bottom glass, and actually handle the center burr with your fingers - see how it moves side to side? That's called 'play', or 'slop'. This is what causes inconsistency in the grinds. If you're creative enough to pop it apart and find a way to shim the center axle to prevent that slop, you may actually have a very fine grinder. Coming from a Javapresse (on loan to a friend), I was actually surprised that pour over took about 70-80 cranks instead of my normal 140-150 on the Javapresse. It wasn't brewing the same either. More coarse boulders hanging out on the top and sides of the melitta. This has an effect on my coffee - which I need to try to re-dial in with this new grinder. Someone mentioned grinding their beans twice. I'm considering doing that. This grinder feels twice as hard to crunch up my medium roast Dunkin (Javapresse was easier one time thru). I will try running thru at 30-40, then 15 (or whatever I eventually find provides the consistency for pour over I need). The whole reason to go to a burr grinder is to avoid the massive inconsistencies of the electric 'weed wacker' style (and to get that "oh-so-wonderful-goodness" that's missing from grocery store ground coffee). For the price conscientious, this is a good place to start, but it may leave you desiring something better. Sometimes it's better to buy once/cry once. This grinder isn't a complete failure - just might need some owner side intervention in tinkering OR running the beans thru more than once. Mind you - I'm using this strictly for Aeropress (sometimes used as a type of French press), and a Melitta pour over. If I find more insights - I'll attempt to update... Update - almost a month later This has been my primary grinder - usually making either pour over with a melitta or immersion brew with my aeropress - typically with the grinder set around 15-20 out of 40 This morning I made the choice to ratchet it up to a much smaller grind and went to a setting of 5 out of 40 - there seems to be much less play - and my ground coffee appears to have a much more consistent appearance first attempt at an aeropress 'espresso like' drink (20g coffee to 60-70g water) - seems decent - I may try this in my nanopresso at another time I'll report in a few more weeks how this setting works for pour over and a ratio of 15:240 (1:16) in the aeropress

Portability: Is it lightweight and easy to travel with
I’m really happy with this purchase! At first, I was a little skeptical because I read some reviews saying it wouldn’t grind fine enough for espresso. Thankfully, that hasn’t been my experience at all. I’m using grind setting 5, and it works perfectly with my portable espresso machine. The grind is consistent, and the coffee tastes so much fresher. Now I can enjoy freshly ground coffee wherever I go. Definitely a great purchase!

Fancy little grinder!
I love this little grinder. It works perfectly for my dorm room coffee bar set up! It feels super sturdy and I’ve used so many different grind settings on it and they work great! It’s easy to carefully clean and is easy to take apart and put back together! Super cute and satisfying to use.

Grinds coffee well but make sure you have time
This is a nice cheap grinder. It’s consistent in what I’ve seen so far and works. If you put your back into it and want it enough you can grind a shot quickly but a fine grind and leisurely at that. Just take a seat lol. I still use it so not complaining at all, just being new to grinding my own coffee I thought I’d be like starbucks with it just PUMPING out some coffee grounds.. I was sorely mistaken but it’s fun regardless if you have a few extra minutes to enjoy the process

Fantastic Grinder combined with a drill turns it into an electric grinder
This grinder works great. I'm not an expert about coffee grinders but setting the grinder to 4 makes for a very fine grind. It gets the coffee finer than my electric blades blender type of grinder. I use this with my drill and it effectively turns this into an electric grinder. The manual handle works fine but to grind a lot of beans to a fine grind requires lots of manual grinding. With a drill attached to the stem, i can grind it much easier. The quality is great and particularly like that the casing, grinder components, and collection cup are aluminum, ceramic, and glass. Zero opportunity for plastic to be introduced into the coffee grounds. I'm new to the world of brewing espresso and for those who don't know, like many interests in life, it can get crazy. There are coffee grinders which cost $5,000 !!! We're talking about a machine that grinds coffee beans! $5,000!!! Absolutely bonkers IMO. I'd wager this $20 grinder with my drill grinds coffee beans just as well as the $5,000 grinder and that there isn't much difference. Certainly not a $4980 difference in quality. We're talking about taking coffee beans and grinding them into little pieces. This isn't that complicated. Anyway, combine this with a drill and this grinder works great.

Precision at Its Finest – A Must-Have Manual Grinder for Coffee Enthusiasts
As a coffee enthusiast who enjoys the ritual of grinding beans fresh each morning, I’ve tried several manual grinders over the years — including the Prolex — but this one truly stands out. The build quality is excellent, and the precision of the grind settings is remarkable. With 40 adjustable settings, it offers an impressive level of control over grind size, whether you're brewing espresso, pour-over, or French press. What sets this grinder apart is the consistency. Unlike my previous grinder, which relied on adjusting the burr screw and often resulted in uneven grinds, this model delivers a uniform grind every time. The adjustment mechanism is intuitive and allows for fine-tuning with ease, making it ideal for those who like to experiment with different brewing methods. The grinder is compact and portable, perfect for travel or small kitchens. The hand crank operates smoothly, and the ceramic burrs do a great job preserving the flavor of the beans. It’s surprisingly efficient — grinding a dose for espresso or a full cup takes minimal effort. If you’re serious about your coffee and want a reliable, high-precision manual grinder, this is an excellent choice. It exceeded my expectations and has quickly become an essential part of my morning routine.
