Excellent quality pillow!
Expensive, but the high quality organic cotton case and natural fiber filling makes this purchase justifiable for me. I am making an effort to slowly replace the synthetic and plastic items from my home, especially those that are in frequent contact with my skin or my food. This cotton is very soft and seemingly durable with a zipper closure. I like that I can adjust the filling in the pillow, but I have not needed to do that yet. Will definitely buy again when I can afford to replace another pillow!

Bean Products Kapok Pillow is great!
I love my Bean Products kapok organic pillow. It came packaged well and arrived on time. I needed to remove some kapok to size it for me and examined the stuffing to be sure it is mold free. One review speaking about mold did not say what brand they ordered, but this brand had clean and dry kapok that's fluffy. I sleep so well on this. My PT told me my old pillow was too thin and I wanted something without foam that would be non-toxic, non-allergenic, and natural. I've had this for several months now. I do plump my pillow each night at bed time and then, when I roll over, I might sometimes give it another quick one. I am sensitive to smells, and never detected anything from this, which I had worried about given some reviews that didn't name the specific product. I highly recommend this pillow for it's comfort and ability to be plumped up over and over and over, just like new. Be sure that you get Bean Products and be careful about reviews that don't name the manufacturer.

excellent quality
Kapok is unusually resilient. It does not pack down or lump up like most other materials. You only need to fluff it up and it will be like new again. I first experienced kapok as a material used inside zafu (Zen) meditation cushions. It really is the best material for this use, in my opinion. For use as a pillow, some may not like it. It feels different than cotton or feathers or foam pillows. After a few days of use I became accustomed to it, and now would no use anything else. This pillow came stuffed with lots of kapok, and would be almost firm enough to use for meditation. It would have been great for a pillow to prop myself up for reading in bed; but it was too firm to place under my head. I removed about 1/4 of the kapok, and the loft and softness is now perfect. The quality of the workmanship is outstanding.Kapok is a plant-based fiber, obtained from trees in Asia. When new it has a slight vegetal or grassy smell. I like the smell, but it goes away after a week or two of exposure.

They are stealing from us thinks that we are fool!
I’m extremely disappointed with this kapok pillow. My first order was labeled “standard size,” but what I received was more like a baby-sized pillow—although it was full and felt nice. I returned it because of the size issue. Then I ordered a larger size, expecting better results. Unfortunately, it was the exact opposite. The pillow was much bigger in size but had the same amount of kapok filling as the smaller one, making it feel flat, empty, and low quality. This is very misleading. How can a larger pillow have the same amount of filling as a much smaller one? It honestly feels like corners are being cut at the customer’s expense. For over $100, I expected consistency and quality. Instead, I got frustration. I would give zero stars if I could.

Beware if you have hay fever/ tree pollen allergies!!!
The quality of the pillow is fantastic. I thought to use it on the plane as a travel pillow and to also do double duty as a lightweight pillow to sleep on. It came very stuffed with the most delightfully soft and silky kapok “cotton” and easy to remove excess kapok for one’s neck needs. It was a bit lumpy and high for my very sensitive neck even after removing half of the stuffing (gave me a neck ache / vertebrae grinding headache) so I tossed the idea of using it as a head pillow and instead a firm-ish lumbar support on the sofa. After having used the pillow my face and eyes started burning and my nose started to run. It was too much for my environmental allergies even though I had sealed it in a dust mite proof cover.I really didn’t want to expose myself to another allergic reaction so I put on a dust mask and gloves and disposed of the pillow and excess kapok.I really had high hopes and am trying another Beanpillow (millet) and am also considering buckwheat to replace my current ancient buckwheat pillow.

Good pillow
I am very sensitive to off gassing so I need a pillow made of natural materials. This pillow has worked well for me. It did have a very faint odor that was natural at the beginning.I’ve been sleeping on it for the last few months. The kapok is very quiet to sleep on. I like it much better than buckwheat.I use it with a dust mite cover so I don’t know if that would be something that some people might have an issue with, but I haven’t had any issues with dust mites. It was very very fluffy when I got it. It has since packed down some and made it actually become more comfortable. If it gets to flat I put it in my dryer with no heat fluffs it back up.It does have a zipper which allows you to remove some if it is too puffy for you. The fibers are very soft.My one small concern is that the kapok is not washable. I am using it with a pillowcase as well as a dust mite case. Both of those can be washed but the pillow with the kapok fibers can’t be. I might repurchase when it gets older. Not sure yet.

Simply perfect
They are so comfortable. Despite some reviews saying the pillows are too overfilled, I found them to be just right. I didn’t adjust anything and as a side and stomach sleeper, they are perfect for me. I purchased the zipper ones in case I needed to adjust the fill, but I ended up not needing to. No smell whatsoever. Hopefully they retain their shape

Nice, comfortable will made quality pillow with absolutely no smell
I order organic since I am very sensitive to smells and chemicals. I was able to use this pillow immediately. Nice!

The best pillow!
Love love love this pillow! I got one for my toddler and now want to get one for everyone in the family. Its the only truly organic option out there (inside and out, not just the cover like other brands) and its so soft and comfy. Zero smells out of the bag and the ability to adjust the filling to your comfort level is incredible. I can’t believe I’ve never had a pillow like that before. They are not joking when they say they ship it overfilled, I removed enough kapok to fill a second pillow, and that’s incredible! I have the extra filling stored in a ziplock bag and will use if/when needed.Highly recommend it.

It's so comfy
It's an amazing pillow. I've heard of the benefits of kapok being dense and anti-fungal etc, and I was tired of those cheap polyester pillows that squish into pockets of nothing and throw my entire neck alignment out of whack... Not with this thing. It's a tank of a pillow. it'll just keep getting denser as time goes by and you can wash the heck out of it without worrying about it squishing together. If you're a fan of dense pillows that stay the same for like, a long long time, this is the one for you. The great bonus is that it's all natural and there are no polyester/plastic micro-bits that sheer off when washing and end up polluting the oceans (a huge problem). I think with this one pillow at this pricepoint it outlasts all the crap pillows I'd have to buy if I did not have this beast. I love it.I did put it in the wash before using it and didn't notice a huge smell as other reviews suggest, but there was the oh so slight wet dog smell for the first month or so that I found quite comforting but, alas, has now went away and is now just pillow.

Love this pillow
After doing research online to find a natural pillow, I came across this one. This pillow makes me excited to go to bed every night. It is so comfortable. There is zero smell as previous reviewers mentioned. The ability to adjust the stuffing would come in handy but as a side/back sleeper it is pretty much perfect. It is pricey for a pillow, but totally worth it so far.

LOVE this pillow. however I did also order a little extra stuffing since I prefer a bit firmer pillow.
