Good product
I started climbing with one of these. Then I tried loose chalk-specifically “Unicorn Dust.” I didn’t care for that at all-too chunky, and yet still made a huge mess when I set my bag down without closing it first. Got another one of these to replace the loose stuff. It’s not perfect, as it doesn’t coat your hands quite as well. But I much prefer that it doesn’t make as much of a mess if I accidentally set it down carelessly, I don’t leave a cloud behind me when I pull my hand out of my bag, and I there’s not a bunch of chalk on the ground where I was climbing.

Does Its Job
Does a good job getting a very even coating of chalk on the hands. I roll it in my hands to get an even coating while bouldering. What I do is press it into the chalk bag so the other side of the ball gets a good coating, then I rotate it by walking my fingers over it so it makes its way in a full 360 as I continue to press the opposite side into the loose chalk in the bag. This sounds slow but it's very quick for me, and I don't need a refillable chalk bag to do it this way. I found that the coating was less than optimal for bouldering when I just squeezed the ball, even when it was new, which is why I gave it four stars. But even then, the coating was even at least.

Its a bag not free flowing chalk
I purchased this swearing I thought it was free flowing chalk, turns out its chalk in a bag, which i dont really like as a climber, because instead of just dipping your hands in on the wall, when every movement and second counts, you have to physically feel for the ball, grab it and squeeze it. Its chalk, it works though.

I got the block which is perfect for bouldering/top roping
I got the block which is perfect for bouldering/top roping. I just break off a chunk for my chalk bag and it will crumble naturally to smaller pieces. Easy to break, and the only chalk that keeps my hands dry!

Good chalk pouch
This chalk shot works well for applying just the right amount of chalk to my hands without getting it everywhere. There is still some excess, but it isn't too bad. The bag that it comes in is durable and resealable and I store the shot back in the bag when not in use.

Nice!
Fairly good coverage. Takes a heavier squeeze to get the chalk out. I'm sure that need dissipates over time. Because of the good grip you have to give it, I'd recommend a larger bag. I have to stuff my whole hand in there, grab, and work it. Don't get kinky.

Helped a lot with my sweaty hands when climbing
I only regret not getting a refillable chalk shot, but that is my fault not the products. The product does exactly what it is supposed to and minimizes chalk dust and mess. I would highly recommend switching over to a chalk shot for climbing, especially if you are indoors like myself.

Four Stars
Good stuff! Stronger on the deadlifts, PB 125kg which at 47 years of age is bloody brilliant! Recommended
