So impressed with this device!
Iโm honestly impressed with the XbotGo Sports action camera. If youโre looking for an easy way to record team sports without buying an expensive camera setup, this is a fantastic solution. What makes this product stand out is that it uses your phoneโs camera, so you donโt need any complicated hardware. I simply mounted my phone, connected the app, and it was ready to go. The AI tracking works surprisingly well, automatically following the action during soccer and basketball games without needing someone to manually control the camera. Iโm so glad that I could focus more on watching my sonโs game now that I donโt have to take the video myself, I could just set this device and let it do its thing. The 4K 60FPS video quality is excellent, the footage looks smooth and clear, which is perfect for reviewing plays or sharing highlights with the team. I also love that it supports live streaming, so parents and friends who canโt attend the game can still watch in real time. Another huge plus is no subscription required. Many sports tracking systems charge monthly fees, but this one works right out of the box. Itโs also great that it supports both iOS and Android, so everyone on the team can use it. The Lava Graphite design looks sleek, and the setup process was simple and straightforward. Within minutes we were recording full games with automatic tracking. Overall, this is an awesome tool for coaches, parents, and teams who want high quality game footage without the hassle of traditional cameras. Highly recommend!

Live broadcasts with scoreboard!
Being an electronics enthusiast, I've come across phone gimbals and camera gimbals, but what I haven't come across is something like the XbotGo tracking camera gimbal. While DJI Osmo and other vlogging cameras with built in gimbals and object tracking are great for being your own cameraman, they are weak when it comes to recording and live streaming sports events. Before coming across this product, I watched a live stream of a basketball game streamed by my son's middle school done by another parent. It had a scorboard overlay and great quality. I always wondered how that was done. It was when I came across the XbotGo that it clicked for me. The parent must have used a similar device to this product. The XBotGo hardware is simple in concept. It has pan and tilt capabilities and a bluetooth remote for controlling the gimbal operation as well as starting and stopping the video. It has a camera built in that is used only for optical tracking. This condensed set of hardware makes the XbotGo more versatile as it leaves the camera and wireless hardware up to the phone that you provide. The streaming video quality is up to the phone that you provide. This is where the software comes in. The software is an all-important part of this system. It is used to connect to the Chameleon via bluetooth and provides the functionality that sets it apart from a standard phone gimbal. Upon starting the app, you choose the sport that you will be recording. This allows the Chameleon to customize its motion tracking to the sport. If you think about it, in Basketball or Soccer, the camera should be following the ball, not a specific person. This is the key feature that sets this product apart from standard gimbals. To really make the live stream work, you need to log in with an XBotGo account. From there, you will have the ability to live stream to Youtube or Facebook. To create a scoreboard overlay, you will need another phone. This phone will be the remote monitor for the Chameleon and you can customize the feed with a scoreboard. Even better is the ability for Chameleon to work with OBS. From a laptop, OBS can connect to a URL given by the product once you have the camera started. OBS treats this as a live source and you're then able to create even more overlays and stream to other social media platforms not covered by the XBotGo's app. Overall, this is a well thought out system that is just impressive with the results that you can get. Very cool.

Instructions describe features, not how to use them
I am hoping to upgrade this as I become more familiar with the product. Be prepared to set aside a lot of time to learn the product. The paper manual contains a random mix of information but no instruction on how to operate. The video tutorials can be paused but can only be started from the beginning, which is time consuming when you're playing with something new and want to scroll to the part you are learning. Having repetitive music play on a loop when you are trying to listen to the instructions is not a positive feature. The instructions describe features, not how to use them. For example, the Xbot has a feature to follow a player, called FollowMe. The instructions read "Enter "FollowMe Mode" โ Select "Jersey Number" โ Enter the athlete's jersey number. Where will you find the "FollowMe Mode"? I can't answer that one yet but will let you know. There are thousands of positive reviews and I hope to join them. So far, this is destined to be returned because if everything is not intuitive, it should be easy to look up in the manual. If you are recording a game and need to learn something, it makes no sense to watch a video tutorial on the same device that is 12 feet in the air recording the game. Update Aug 6 - comments are specifically related to ice hockey It would be great to be able to zoom with the remote or the monitor. Once the camera is 12+ feet in the air, bringing it down to turn off auto zoom and then figure out the zoom I want is a process. The gimble cannot angle down sufficiently to pick up all of the action.Significant amount of action along nearside central boards is missed. I was really surprised that I cannot edit my footage by signing in online. It appears that I have to use the phone I recorded with, which is laborious for an hour plus footage vs accessing it via much bigger screens. UPDATE (Aug 6): you can send yourself a link. Update Aug 7 The live streaming feature on high speed internet does not work. It does a frame every few seconds. It could be a great tool but has logic flaws from a hockey perspective. If your phone (camera) is at the recommended height of 12 feet, you need to use the monitor function to make sure it is set up as you want (such as forcing a manual panning if the tracking loses its way (the camera drag function on the monitor is excellent BTW, is very fast) and linking the devices by hot spot is recommended. If you do this, you can't then use wifi to to live stream. If they fix the streaming issue, I would recommend a mirroring feature (between two Apple products).

Pretty cool camera
Impressive AI action camera. Its easy to set up and the quality are good and clear. When it comes to sports videography, this gimbal is revolutionary. This system, which is intended for coaches, teams, individual athletes, and analysts, provides automated player/team concentration, smooth motion stabilization, and precise tracking, making it a vital tool for producing high quality sports video. The accuracy of the recording surprises me. dynamically follows players using AI-powered tracking to make sure every important moment is recorded. even in fast-paced games, makes shots that are steady and fluid. A dedicated camera operator is not necessary because the system is easy to set up and the AI tracking functions flawlessly. The Chameleon AI-Powered Sports Action Camera is a cutting-edge solution for capturing sports footage with advanced tracking capabilities. Great for a coach
Really, really cool. You can track the action in a game and it works pretty darn well (not perfect, of course). But instead of a long shot, I get action shots that I've already used to show my players their good (and bad) plays. And as a coach who gets very little footage of his kids, this is amazing. Only negative so far - the tutorial that shows everytime when you want to record. And the phone holder doesn't work great with the case on my Iphone 13.But small gripes.

Fantastic AI Auto Sports Action Camera
Iโve been using this AI auto sports action camera for a couple weeks now, and I have to say itโs amazing. I was skeptical at first because thereโs a lot of โAI cameraโ out there, but this one actually works, especially for team sports like soccer and basketball. Setup was really easy. The app guided me through connecting it to my phone (Iโve used it with both iOS and Androidโworks great on both), and I didnโt have to pay for any subscription just to get the main features. That alone is a big win. The tracking is where this thing shines. I use it mainly for soccer practices and games, and it does an excellent job , and no need to control anything manually. It pans and zooms automatically to follow the players and keeps the ball in frame most of the time. For the most part, it feels like someoneโs filming it live for you. The 4K at 60FPS is no joke either. The footage looks super clean, and the motion is smooth, even in lower lighting like during late afternoon games. Iโve tried live streaming to family a couple of times too, and that worked too. No noticeable lag or buffering, and the quality held up even when we didnโt have the worldโs best Wi-Fi. Portability is another plusโitโs small, compact, and the build feels durable. Iโve put it in my bag with cleats and shin guards and itโs just fine. Battery life is solid too. Iโve gotten through full games with battery to spare. Overall, if you're looking for an easy, high-quality way to record games, review plays, or just keep memories of your kidsโ sports moments, this is absolutely worth it. It feels like one of those products that really works. Highly recommend.

Has potential but not quite there yet.
Note this was used for youth flag football which may have some variables, and also the football option was listed at beta. This may improve with a later software version and with a full football team. Overall, the device is well built and works fairly well. Iโd say 80-90% of the time, youโll get your video - if not in the center of the frame. I had 2 completely missed plays and that disappointed me and my son. In one case, the camera just panned about 130deg opposite of the play and shot the sideline. The 2nd major issue was the remote. First, it needs dedicated buttons - at least one more. As it is currently, there is an action button and one other that cycles through the actions. This was a problem as the very useful โmarkโ option, which marks important plays for easy review is only accessible if you cycle to it. But if youโre set on mark, then you have to cycle to the play/pause option. (And if you have to manually pan because the AI isnโt tracking well, you have to cycle to that.) At least a dedicated play/pause button should be added. The 2nd issue with the remote was that distance was surprisingly far to start - 30-40โ. About 30min through my sonโs game, it started disconnecting beyond about 15โ. It could be a bad battery but this was the first use. I missed starting one play due to this. Beyond actual flaws, the system works fairly well. There is a process to learn, however, that is really the reason Iโm returning. The system does decent at following a play but it canโt track the location well to start. Placed at midfield (as instructed), Iโd have to set the cam to look at the offense near the left goal line. As the play progressed to the right, the camera followed ok. But if the field switched - which is common in flag since the donโt punt, Iโd have to manually pan to the other side. I wouldnโt call this a flaw and I donโt know how to solve, but between the occasional glitch, the risk with the remote and constantly panning after a drive, it was too much focus on the camera and not enough on my son. I couldnโt enjoy the game. Additional notes: if itโs not clear, you must use a phone and it must be mounted on the device to function (semi-properly). It is not an actual camera and the video is saved to the phone. So you need to tie up your phone or have an extra one - with sufficient battery and storage. You may be able to disable but every time you click home to change a setting and then go back to record mode, you have to select all the setting and โskipโ the tutorial/setup. Minor annoyance but adds a good 5+ seconds and you donโt want to fight with that during a game. There is a follow me option that might help with the panning issues mentioned above but when testing with my son, if he ran fast, the device could not keep up. If he got out of frame, it would stop tracking. I may test this once more with a mid-zoom to see if that works better during the game. The system will slightly digitally zoom but thereโs no simple way to control that during plays. Thereโs also no way to zoom in on review. You must download the video and zoom in with the phoneโs standard video viewers. Build quality is good, as is battery life in my tests. Itโs not a bad system for the price and may work better with other sports/fields/courts/etc. Just be aware that itโs not a set-it-and-forget-it / enjoy the game type of device. 3 stars for potential.

Great investment for combat sports
Been using this camera for a few days now and itโs completely changed how I train jiu jitsu. I set it up on the mats and let it track me through rounds without needing anyone to hold the camera. The AI tracking actually keeps up during live rolling which I didnโt expect at this price point. 4K quality is sharp enough that I can go back and break down my positioning and see exactly where Iโm leaving things open. No subscription fees is a huge win since I donโt like paying monthly just to review my own footage. Setup is simple and the iOS app is straightforward. Glad I made this purchase

Very easy to use sports camera
There are a lot of AI cameras out there and it was a bit difficult for me to decide which one to buy but I was very happy that I finally found one. I'm using it to record my son's football sessions and so the camera works really great. The setup was easy and the app that I had to install on my phone works properly and it connects with the actual product easily. What I really like is that I don't have to pay any subscription and the app allows me to record video and also to adjust certain settings. The tracking is one of the most important aspects because now I don't have to manually record everything because this camera does everything for me. The camera pans and also rotates automatically to follow the players and keeps the ball in frame most of the time even when it moves really fast. It records in 4K which means that I can zoom in and still see the details clearly and because this camera supports 60 frames per second, even when the players on the pitch move really fast there is no delay in the recording. It is a small and compact camera with a good build quality and when I have to take it with me I just put it in my bag and I like that it doesn't take too much space. The battery holds for a long time, and managed to record a whole 90 minutes game and there was still enough power to use it without having to charge it. It records properly, tracking feature is great, this is why this camera is suitable for my needs and it saves me a lot of time by not having to stay focused during the games every chord everything myself.
