Challenging, High Quality, and the Perfect Gift
I bought this Puzzle Potato Tesla Box as a Valentine’s gift for my husband, and it has been a huge hit. He has been working on it for quite a while now, which says a lot about how engaging and challenging it is. The quality is impressive. The wood feels solid and well crafted, and the box has a nice weight to it. It feels substantial in your hands, not light or flimsy. All of the components fit together smoothly, and the construction feels durable. The challenge level is perfect. It is not something you solve quickly, but it is also not frustrating in a bad way. It keeps you thinking and coming back to it. Overall, this is a creative, high quality brain teaser that makes an amazing gift. The craftsmanship, weight, and overall design really stand out. I am so glad I chose this and would definitely purchase again.

Gift for the whole family!!
This was the coolest puzzle ball!! It was hard though it took hours and my son is super smart. If you want a challenge its definitely worth it. Our whole family was working on this thing. We got it because its refrence to harry potter, because my son loves those movies. The gem inside it was the coolest to my son. Its fairly big with a generous amount of mind bending puzzles all around it. Its not very durable be very careful when trying to decipher it as some of the things can break, and then it cant be put back together. But overall its definitely worth the money. I will be getting more of these puzzle balls for our family this coming up christmas.

Gorgeous and fun puzzle. A bit easy.
There were 4 puzzles, I was kind of hoping there'd be a little more to it, but 5 stars because I had a blast. To be fair, I am an adult and I love puzzles, and I've never done a puzzle box like this before. I never even knew something like this existed until last week. This took me exactly 35 minutes to solve. I like the quality of the piece and the workmanship, everything slid and fit together nicely. The one negative thing will say is it was a bit of a let down opening it. It was like "oh cool there's the Philosopher's stone, what's next? Oh I'm done." As other reviewers have noted, it doesn't really have replayability because once I've solved it like I know the answers, however, now that I've completed it, I put it back together and I think it's going to make the rounds in my friend group. I might make a little list to keep inside with solving times on it. For only having four puzzles I thought the price was a little high, but with the amount of work it would take to create and manufacture this I get it. It is a beautiful piece and it is sitting on the top of my display bookcase, I really can't wait to make all my friends do this puzzle!

Awesome in a box!
I purchased this to give to my wife as the final part of a puzzle box based Christmas adventure. I realize that at $70 USD, it might seem expensive to some, but understanding the puzzle box community and knowing exactly how in depth and expensive some of these can get, the Tesla Box by Puzzle Potato hits a pretty sweet spot of awesomeness for value. I would defiantly recommend this for a lover of puzzles and clue boxes. It is a well thought out, well crafted sequential discovery box that even had her scratching her head. There are a few difficult challenges that will make you really use your memory. The sense of discovery around each turn. The brick walls just to go... AH!! Shifting the pieces around is easy and it was extremely well crafted and put together. Compared to similar size puzzle boxes, I'd say this one is pretty darn amazing with the addition of magnets and electrical components. Final verdict. 10/10. The only thing that will light up more than the box will be your eyes as you find yourself falling into the sense of awe and wonder. The ooh's and ahh's that were heard as she spent hours solving it made it 100% worth it in my opinion.

Great puzzle but pricey
This was a lot of fun. My 14 year-old and I worked on this here and there for a couple of days. I love how logical everything is; no need to guess on any part. Also the movement of the puzzle elements is smooth, and nothing gets stuck. It isn't always super obvious what's going to fall off when you solve something, so twice we temporarily lost pieces to our couch. We were able to reset the puzzle to give to a friend, which (for me) justifies the cost. That is the biggest negative to these types of puzzles. I wish the price point would come down. If it wasn't for a Black Friday deal, I probably would never have bought it. It is a little anticlimactic when you finish. There's a space inside where you can fit something (ping pong ball max - not shaped right for a gift card), so if you give it to someone else, that would make it cooler for him at least. When it opened, we both looked at each other like, "That was it?" So Manufacturer, maybe a congratulatory note or something would be nice.

Very worthwhile purchase! Bought for a 30 year old and it took weeks to complete. Need more like it!

It’s definitely for beginners
I’ve been into puzzle boxes for quite a while now, and my usual go to has always been iDventure. I’ve honestly never had a bad experience with any of their boxes. I’m also very familiar with the ESC WELT line, so this review is really aimed at people who already know what they’re getting into with high quality mechanical puzzle boxes. I recently picked up The Philosopher’s Stone from Puzzle Potato, and I’ll start with the positives. This is a well made puzzle. I opted for the metal version, and I’m really glad I did. Paying the extra five dollars is absolutely worth it. The metal gives the box a great weight, a premium feel, and a look that really stands out compared to the standard wooden version. Now for the big however. Unfortunately, it’s a major one. This puzzle is extremely easy. On average, an iDventure box takes me anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half to solve, sometimes even longer depending on the model. By comparison, I solved The Philosopher’s Stone in about 15 minutes. There was very little resistance, misdirection, or complexity involved, which was a bit of a letdown given how nice the box itself feels. What makes this especially surprising is that Puzzle Potato also made the Tesla Box, which I’ve solved as well. To this day, that remains one of the best puzzle boxes I’ve ever experienced. I cannot recommend the Tesla Box highly enough, which set my expectations pretty high going into this one. That said, The Philosopher’s Stone does have a place. It would be a great first puzzle box for someone who is brand new to this hobby or has very limited experience. The final payoff is fun, and the build quality is solid. In fact, I’ll likely keep it specifically for when friends come over who have never tried a puzzle box before. It is perfect as an introductory piece. For anyone who is really serious about puzzle boxes, though, I cannot honestly recommend it. It just does not offer enough challenge for experienced solvers. I am still giving it four stars because it is a solid product from a good company, and there is clearly a market for it. It is just not aimed at seasoned puzzle box enthusiasts, and that is important to know going in.

Even Greater puzzle box
Even greater puzzle box, like the philosopher stone puzzle box, it's made with great quality and then one even have electronic components, and doesn't even need battery, it's more difficult than the others, that's why it was double the fun. Recommend
