The champagne cork is stuck up inside the opener after it removed the cork. how do i disengage the cork? the handle will not move.

The cork will usually dislodge if you rap the bottom of the opener on the counter. If that doesn't work, just use some kind of sharp object to dislodge the cork from the inside. BTW, I have never had this problem.
