Better than the Keurig you are thinking of getting
If you are considering getting a Keurig at a similar or higher price, skip it. This thing is far superior. I’ve had a couple Keurigs, and I was hesitant to switch brands, but I’ve been happy with my other nNinja products and this seemed like a better value. This one holds more water, takes up less counter space, has more options, is overall sturdier, and has the milk frother which is a really nice little feature. You can do a small pot or a pod. I think it’s better looking on the counter, too. We’ve had it for a little while now and use it every day and it performs perfectly every time.

IMHO BEST coffee pod coffee maker on the market!!
We can now all benefit from xtra bells/whistles!! An affordable extremely user friendly while in morning coffee getting while still sleeping mode. Brews a nice hot but not overly hot cuppa. They have thought of everything, those cunning Ninja folks. After the death of our fifth Keurig over the past 11years, we were ready for a change. Kudos to the developers of this awesome machine. It has a built in frother, is easy to change cup size, makes delicious espresso and iced coffee and will change the strength and taste of your coffee via the press of a button. U can also make 24 oz of coffee in an easy to use basket which easily converts from pod to basket. And every function is speedy and delicious!! We are more than happy with this selection in a crowded coffee pod coffee maker market!! Highly recommend!!

Absolutely nothing to complain about. Love from the first site
This coffee machine is so well thought out. I love that every single little part of it is integrated within the machine. So smart. It looks amazing. It works great. I've made teas, coffees, cappuccinos, I've used cups and grounds. I prefer grounds in general. The temperature of the drink is hot. Taste is awesome. There are 4 types of drinks you can brew. You can make classic(1) or rich(2) (the machine will stop a few times for a few moments and start brewing again during the cycle making coffee taste stronger/richer), over the ice(3) or specialty(4), which brews 4 oz and its really strong like expresso. I brew specialty when I'm making cappuccino. It brews very fast too. I love the frother. It works amazing. You don't get splashes because it has cover over it. I love that its always there and I can pop it out any moment when I need it. It's very easy to clean too. Quarter of twist detaches the frother and I can wash it quickly and pop it right back in with the same quarter of the twist. I absolutely love the fact that this is not overly complicated machine. It has basic functions that I wanted that all work really well. The machine is narrow and doesn't take much space on the counter which I really appreciate. It is a little taller than I thought it would be, but I guess my top kitchen cabinets is high enough that I don't have to move the machine and can open and close the lid with no problems. The heigh of the machine allows to fill the water tank with almost 48 oz of water. Water tank is easily removable. The height of the machine also allows for different types of cups. I can put a pretty tall thermos cup and brew straight into it. The most amount you can brew at once is 24 oz. The machine recognizes which attachment you have inside, for cups or grounds. Attachments are also marked on the outside on their little handles that stick on the outside of the machine when they stored away. It's so neat and cute. It's made with love. I'm soooo enjoying it and absolutely loving it. I'm planning to buy it as a gift to my loved ones, that's how much I love it. The permanent filter is easy to clean. It makes an amazing tea too, not just coffees. Loose leaf or a bag, everything comes out amazing and hot. The lid over the filter has a hole where the water flows through and has multiple holes on the bottom of the lid, just like shower head, which allows hot water to go evenly through the coffee grounds or tea leaves. Love that. I was looking for a single cup machine, so mostly I brew 1 or 2 cups only. I never had a problems with overflowing or getting grounds in the coffee. I think people get those problems because they simply put too much coffee grounds which causes it to overflow and get grounds into coffee. The included permanent filter is not huge, so if you need to brew strong coffee for a large amount of people at once, this is probably not the best choice. But if you brew 1 or 2 cups, this is perfect. Otherwise you could also brew a few times. I don't see any problem with that because it brews amazingly fast. I do not have any dripping problems either. I brew until the brewing cycle is complete, there is blinking light indicator on top of the lid. When brewing cycle is finished machine makes the light stops blinking and machine makes 3 beeps. Not loud, but I'm able to hear them with working TV, washer and dishwasher. If you remove the cup after those 3 beeps and wipe (i usually just touch it with edge of my cup) the last drop on the spout it doesn't drip. Ever. But even if it was to drip a couple drops, there is a nice really easy to clean dripping tray, that you can place on 4 different heights or remove completely. I think this machine is worth every penny. I can't tell you enough how much I love this thing. I'm so glad I chose to buy it. I didn't even expect it would be so great. Not big or bulky, well thought out, looks very very nice, has all nessesary functions that each works amazing. It doen't look cheap at all. It's very pleasing to the eye and stylish. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants versatility, simplicity and style. I feel like I didn't say enough, didn't give it enough credit for what it is lol. Whoever was designing this thing is for sure a big people lover. I wanna give them a hug hahaha.

Love the Ninja coffee maker after 1 week daily use. Simple to use with several options in coffee strength and sizes. Frother works great, quick and easy to remove/wash.

Leaks
My last coffee maker was the keurig duo. After 3 years it started making noises and brewing the wrong cup suzes. I searched every coffee maker for a replacement and found this ninja. I loved everything about it especially the ground coffee basket. It has an attached frother on one side and slide in basket on the other side which holds the ground coffee basket. The ground coffee scoop attaches to the side. It was packed in the ninja box in another. Everything was wrapped separately. It took a lot more time unpacking it than it did to set it up. I followed all the instructions step by step. It was actually quite easy. I flushed the water thru as instructed. Afterwards I put in a peets kcup hit go. It brewed the coffee which was surprisingly too hot to take more than a tiny sip. I really liked this machine and it came in moss green. I left for an hour. When i came back my counter was flooded with water. I immediately thought it was from my old keurig and i hadn't noticed it. I noticed to water tank only had a little bit of water in it. It still didn't click until i refilled the water reservoir and put it back on. Slowly water started seeping from underneath the machine. The water in the reservoir had bubbles. I immediately took the reservoir off and put it on a dry paper towel to look for a crack. There wasn't one and the water wasn't bubbling off the machine. The water was still coming from under the machine because it was already in there. I thought check with Amazon online. I put in the info and the reply was i can get a refund. I didn't want a refund i wanted to exchange it. Nope have to return to kolhs not whole foods or Amazon fresh right below me. I decided to check the instruction sheet again. Ah troubleshooting. There's a section on leaks. The very last scenario is if leak is coming from under the machine call customer service. I call and was pleasantly surprice how easy it was to get to talk to a person. Kellie was very personable. I explained the leaking from under the machine. The impression i got from her was this isn't a common problem we did a video chat she looked at the machine i showed her where the water was coming from. There are 2 empty holes on the bottom. I showed her i can stick my pen up into them. The other holes like those have a screw in them. There are also non skid dots on the corners. She had me put the reservoir with water back on. It took maybe 30 seconds and i said bubblesare starting to form which she was able to see. Luckily i had the dry paper towel where it was as the water began seeping out for her to see in real-time. I told her i thought it was coming thru the holes i could stick my pen into. I was on the phone with her for 30 minutes. Yes they would send me a new machine but even if i cut off the cord the needed this one back. They won't pick it up. I would have to take it the FedEx. There isn't a FedEx anywhere near me. There are a few UPS but it can't go there. They can't send the new until they get they get the defective one. It would a few weeks to get the new one. I thought shark/ ninja would want to look over the machine to find the defect. Then i thought why did i bother and go thru all of this when i can return it to amazon and reorder it. I wasted at least 30 minutes on the phone with shark ninja and didn't get anywhere while water was still leaking from under machine. I thought i was a doing a good thing in case other people were having the same problem. After reading many of the good reviews i decided to read the bad. I'm not the only one with a leaking machine. I packed everything up and put the machine and all parts back into the box to return to amazon. I was going to reorder one even tho they were out of the green before i got to return this one. In 2 or 3 days the price went way up. Now they have 3 different models of this machine. The one i had with the frother was 99.00. I think it's now 30.00. I can do without the frother i only cared about the ground coffee basket. I've been using my french press because i don't have a machine. I'm debating if i should order the one without the frother or buy a new keurig that comes with a basket for grounds. I gave 2 stars because i like the streamlined look of this and there's a place for everything built into the machine and the actual basket for ground coffee not a kcup looking thing.

Rivals Keurig
I gotta say, this rivals Keurig and makes a quick and lovely cup of coffee. I've been a coffee drinker all of my life and since I'm old, I started out with a percolator. Eventually Bunn entered the home coffee maker market and I was hooked. Because it had a reservoir to keep water hot and ready to brew at the touch of a button, I got my coffee much faster. Years later, someone gifted me my first Keurig and that was it. I became a single serve coffee maker fanatic. There was nothing faster and no more burnt or stale coffee. Yes, yes - a French press makes the finest cup of coffee but I do not wake up in any condition to use a French press. I need coffee and I need it fast. So Keurig has dominated the single serve arena for quite some time. I have had a number of Keurigs over the years, as well as Nespresso machines and a few espresso machines. In fact, I currently have a delightful Nespresso Vertuo machine that I adore but I don't use heavily because of the very high cost of capsules and the relatively small number of decaf offerings. My Keurig was the heavy hitter until it recently began to just turn off randomly in the middle of brewing a cup of coffee. When searching for a replacement, I happened upon this machine by Ninja. I LOVE Ninja appliances! I have their vacuums, blenders, ice cream makers, a drip coffee maker, and an amazing air fryer with 2 baskets so I was intrigued. This one did offer a 12oz cup size and a rich coffee setting like my recently defunct Keurig so I decided to order. I chose the XL for the larger water reservoir (68oz), although it's still not as large as my Keurig had. When it arrived the next day, I was excited to get brewing but I did take the time to check out all the features (and there are quite a few.) First to mention is that you can use standard K-cups and brew a 6, 8, 10, or 12oz cup of coffee. But the surprising feature is that you can brew ground coffee and select a 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 18 or 24oz cup size! You will need to drop in the permanent filter (which stores neatly in a compartment on the side of the machine) but you can fill up a travel mug this way. Wonderful! There is also an Over Ice setting to brew an iced coffee and a Specialty Coffee setting that brews an intense, 4oz, cup of coffee that is similar to espresso in strength and is good for recipes that call for strong brewed coffee. Also, there is a swing out milk frother that's fun. It doesn't heat - only froths - but it's still quite handy and the wand twists off easily for rinsing under the tap. Finally, there is a little cup platform that can be moved up and down, depending upon the size of your cup. I don't move mine because I just use huge mugs. Things I don't like as much are that there is no water filter. I have very hard water in my city, which is death to coffee makers. I have an in-line water filter at my sink but I liked the additional filter on my Keurig so I didn't have to descale quite as often. There is also no option to set the brewing temperature. My husband loves very, very hot coffee so he's noticed this. What I love is that I can get a 12oz cup of coffee on the Rich setting that is wonderful and flavorful and faster that my Keurig ever did, even when it was new. I also like that it's narrower so takes up less, precious, counter space. The buttons on the top are simple to toggle through and select the setting you need. It's just a great little machine that I am using multiple times a day as there are 4 coffee drinkers in the house. I will update should it fail prematurely but so far, I think the coffee maker really suits me.

Good budget coffee maker you won't regret.
I bought this to replace my Nespresso coffee maker, because the pods were becoming expensive. My wife and I are big coffee drinkers so we were going through the pods at an unsustainable rate. I choose Ninja because we already have a Ninja blender so brand familiarity played a big part. I appreciate that it does both K-Cups and drop although we don't do K-Cups (we also had a Keurig machine in the past) and they're not good. This coffee maker brews pretty good I have to admit, the model has a 56oz water tank so we can brew two 24oz carafes in the morning before refills. The user interface at the top is easy to use no complaints there, I really like that there is a progress bar while brewing. It also has everything you need attached right to the machine. A measuring spoon that attaches itself to the side for storage, a frother, which is not the best but it's does it's job, and a handy drawer on the bottom that stores the coffee basket or K-Cups adapter. It does all this and remains pretty svelte. My one gripe is the coffee basket. The mesh around the basket is plastic which works well but seems a bit flimsy. Luckily they sell here on Amazon replacement baskets that fit this model perfectly, which address this issue. I bought one and the mesh is made of metal which when you hold immediately feels more robust and quality. Overall, for what you'll pay it's well worth it. If you're like me, coming from an almost instant cup with the Nespresso to this, you'll have to reaclimate yourself to the routine of filling the basket in the morning but I'm not complaining.

Excellent Coffee Maker for Strong Coffee
When my name brand (not K) coffee maker went to the big coffee bean in the sky, I decided that $200 was a bit pricy for something that lasted only 4 years. For the most part, I grind beans and use the filter. We don't drink a lot of coffee and I like being able to customize each cup. So I went on a search for the ideal single serve coffee brewer. After trying 2 other brewers, each with problems, I decided to give Ninja the old college try. Boy, am I glad I did. My husband for the most part, drinks a regular cup of coffee with cream and sugar. I make a hot latte every day. I have a really good moka pot, but I wanted a machine capable of making a really strong cup of coffee, which doesn't seem to exist in the majority of name brands. I gave up on the big K a long time ago. I don't use the frother. Maybe one day I will. What caught my immediate attention is the large (and I mean LARGE) filter coffee holder. It holds at least 1/2 cup of coffee! It's ginormous. I use 3 scoops to 12oz water, set on "rich" for my latte, mixed with 8oz hot milk. At first I thought I did something wrong, or that it was defective. A little water came out, and it stopped. On try #3, I decided to let it sit. Sure enough, after a minute or so, it continued. (Perhaps I should have looked at the instructions first?). Lol. What it was doing was allowing the water to soak into the grounds, to extract the coffee. This is the first time in our almost 40 years of marriage, that my husband said his coffee was too strong (and he lived in Germany for 20 years). The maker automatically detects whether you have inserted the filter or kcup. The display is intuitive and easy to program. It remembers your last setting. The brewer is Ninja quality. I've owned several Ninja appliances over the years, all still going strong. If you want a regular cup of coffee, Ninja will provide. If you want a truly strong cup of coffee, Ninja will give it to you. If anyone thinks it doesn't brew a strong cup, they're either not using enough coffee, they're using the wrong blend, or they haven't tried using the filter. Also, all accessories are stored onboard. There's a nifty drawer on the right side that stores the filter or kcup holder, while your using the other. It's a very well thought out machine. The price is very reasonable.

The machine is lovely but in Britain beware.
The coffee machine is very good but beware in Britain the voltage for the machine is 120 volts and in Britain we are 240 volt. To return the machine is very costly, the cost of sending mine back was around £60. Amazon don't want to know about returning the machine, they just send you a label to print off and that's it. I can't understand why Amazon sell items on the market place that don't comply with British voltage.
