This is a great sourdough starter kit OR for someone whose been making sourdough for years, like myself. It comes with everything you need, including measuring cups, a scraper, and even a scrubber that fits the jars nicely. I LOVE the super wide top for ease of stirring and for getting starter out of the jar. I’ve always used wide mouth mason jars and this is much better access. The heaviness of the jar is so nice. It doesn’t feel like I’m going crack it if I knock it too hard accidentally. The scraper that comes with it is probably my favorite part 😆. It scrapes every nook and cranny perfectly to get every bit you need. The breathable top is perfect and it looks nice sitting on my counter too. The stick on thermometer is handy as it will give you an idea of how quickly your starter is going to rise. I also really like the band on the outside to mark where my starter began so I can easily tell how much it has risen. One time I did have it sort of stretch out and it wouldn’t stay on the jar. I just washed it in the sink with my dishes and once it dried, it was good to go again and stayed in place. All the measurements on the side of the jar seem a little overkill for me because when feeding your starter it’s by weight, not cups or ML. Overall- this is well worth your money to buy and looks nice in the counter too.

I really like this starter kit. It includes everything a novice baker needs for making sourdough bread. I especially like the instructions pamphlets. Alao, the jar is sturdy and its the perfect size.

Starter jar and accessories feel like a good quality but I really wish “kit” included starter dough. Yes you can make your own with 3 ingredients but starting a new kit takes a bit of work each day for 5 to 10 days to get mature culture. Did not want to wait on new setup so bought starter to jumpstart the process. Just wish it had it already. Jar and cover is nice, spatula and brush are easy to grasp, well packaged.

I bought this jar for the wider mouth. It makes it so much easier to clean than some of the other sourdough jars. I also love that it came with the brush because that is really helpful when trying to clean off the dry and hardened starter that gets on the sides of the jar after pouring. The glass feels thick and sturdy and I like that it has all the measurements and places for you to write your feeding ratio & other things like that. The temperature strip seems to work well & the kid having a little temp guide is also helpful to a newbie like me. The color of the band that goes around to mark feeding times/starter level is stretchy enough to be easy to move around and I also like the color since most that are sold online are just black. The little linen cap is cute. Over all super happy with the upgrade in my sourdough starter jar.

I like not having to worry about plastics in my dough, as this is glass. I like the quality printing around the outside of this jar, the elastic "when was this fed" band and especially the spatula it came with, which feels like it won't break in the near future. Also it comes with a screw lid and a cloth lid for however you want to store it (fridge or shelf). It also comes with a recipe book and starter guide.

This jar is just the right size and has everything on it that I need to keep track of my starter. I love the markings on the jar, the cloth and metal lid. The rubber scrapper is very nice and works great. The scrub brush for the jar is just the right shape. Sometimes that starter can really stick. The book that is included with the jar has some easy to follow great recipes. I am very happy with the quality of it all.
