Good read-real page turner
Verity was packed with suspense and so many twists and turns that I truly couldn’t put it down. The way Colleen Hoover differentiates between Lowen’s voice and Verity’s manuscript was incredibly well done—it kept me completely engaged and constantly needing to know what was coming next. As a mother, there were moments that genuinely shocked me. The darkness of this story goes deeper than I expected, and there were several times my mouth literally dropped while reading. It’s intense, unsettling, and absolutely gripping. The character development was strong throughout. I felt everything—fear, anxiety, sorrow, even brief moments of happiness. That emotional depth made the thriller aspect hit even harder. Overall, the plot was phenomenal. If you’re looking for a true page-turner or a book to pull you out of a reading slump, this is it. This had been sitting on my TBR for a while, and I’m so glad I finally picked it up. The only piece that left me slightly disappointed was the ending. It definitely leaves you thinking without giving too much away—which I know some readers love—but I personally wanted just a bit more closure. I purchased my copy used from a seller here, and it arrived in perfect reading condition. I love giving books a second life and a new home—there’s something special about that.

Psychologically twisted!
By far this book is one of Colleen Hoover's twisted, demented stories. It begins with a traumatic scene and the traumas never stop. It is a book that requires a box of tissues or boxes. A book that will cause you to pause and wonder but how? Why? How could she?? It is the perfect story for a case review in social work or psychology. Of you are into suspense this loaded with it. I never saw much of what happened coming. It kept me intrigued the whole time. In spite of how disturbing it could be. Yet, it is possible these things can happen in real life. Great read!

Unnerving, but well worth the read!
This book has some tough moments where maybe, like me, you’ll want to turn the light on because you alone and feel uneasy and unnerved. But it’s well written, thoughtful with great character development and page turning moments. It is well worth the read.

dark and crazy read
I really enjoyed reading this, but the ending left me with so many questions lol. I loved following Lowen and her journey through that creepy a** house. I enjoyed the book a lot, especially Jeremy’s character. I honestly had no clue why people said this was the worst book they’d ever read. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but it definitely wasn’t this. The dark stuff with the kids was crazy. At one point I questioned how this was even published to the public by how dark some parts are. I don’t want to give anything away to new readers, so all I can say is: if you love creeping dread mixed with romance, this book is for you. The ending does give you a happy-ish-ever-after, but with an unsettling element where you know something wrong might happen later, even if it’s not on page. Anyway, I liked this book. It was a solid four-star read for me. All I have to say is Verity is despicable and a crazy woman. The ending felt a tad bit rushed to me, and I would’ve liked a little more of a wrap-up, but I guess the author’s goal was to leave readers with a happily-ever-after but with dread at the same time. It was almost a romance horror novel, which was interesting.

Twists and Turns and Then Some
‘Verity’ was topsy-turvy. The plot involved head-popping action, an interesting proposal, moving in, doing research, finding an autobiography, struggling to read the disturbing find, learning eye-popping facts, falling for the employer, noticing strange goings on, having a mutual attraction, getting to the bottom of the situation, being side-tracked, struggling with possible truths, and moving on. Moreover, Lowen, the protagonist, seemed to struggle with the information presented throughout the work, especially whether her employer believed her or not. Additionally, I appreciated the author’s suspenseful and vivid descriptions, which set a menacing tone. Overall, I liked the riveting narrative.

Epic thriller
I loved this book so much. The plot twist, the characters just kept me glued to it to know what happens next. I'm still conflicted between team manuscript or team letter. When you pick this book up DON'T READ IT AT NIGHT!! It will creep you out. A bit of SPOILER! Verity is an author and is married to Jeremy and they have 3 children but the twins die and things take a turn for the worst. Verity is bed ridden after her accident and can't finish her remaining 3 series,so Jeremy talks with her publisher to hire another author to finish the series for her and he goes to the meeting where he meets Lowen a small author who just lost her mother and is looking for a job to distract herself. Lowen takes the offer Jeremy has negotiated with her and in order to start the series, she needs to familiarise herself with Verity's work. Lowen agrees to stay in there house for the weekend to get the notes she needs only to come across Verity's manuscript that was never to be read by anyone and things take a turn after she realizes she's is falling for Jeremy and is conflicted whether to give him the manuscrips to read or keep them to herself, what unravels next is shocking,,, It's a must read for thriller lovers.
