No. You need brackets and stands.

Is this compatible with with savage umbrella stands? my savage umbrellas broke so i need two replacements. i want to use the same stands though.

I do not know but I purchased these items and they worked just fine if not better then the ones that came with my kit. If your umbrellas have a rod as these umbrellas do, I can not think of a reason for them not to work and you they do not, AMAZON is very good about returning items. Good luck!!!

can i use it for a 750watt tungston light? does it withhold the heat from it?

It's designed to be used as a 'Shoot Trough' with a strobe light. It may be too thin to be used with a tungsten bulb. The heat given off by a 750 watt tungsten bulb might too much for the umbrella and a fire might ensue. Instead, Do a search for photo umbrellas and tungsten lighting. uLite Tungsten 2-Light Umbrella Kit..I found this a few minutes ago...

what is the shaft diameter? 7 or 8 mm?

I'm not sure I think its 12mm or either more. I mean the standing shaft, but if you mean the assembly part at the end I'm not sure but pretty sure is smaller than 12mm.

Pretty good considering the price.

I don't anticipate using these a great deal, hence my opting for a lower priced item. However, they're perfectly functional and look reasonably well made. Do I expect them to last as long as my Bowens reflector umbrellas that I've been using for well over ten years? Of course not; but then again these were £17 for a pair, as opposed to more like £70 for a pair.
