How many crystals should be in the box as I count 56 and ther are far more holes in chandelier

They are wrapped in pairs. I am still in the process of opening mine so haven’t counted all yet. But seems like it will match the holes as there are 103 pins according to the instructions.

How short can this go to ceiling??

As short as you want, it can be flush if you wanted. Hope that helps. Also it’s a beautiful light, I bought two for my hallway.
