Amazing game!
I've heard so much about Minecraft over the last 12 months and i've really been looking forward to the PS4 release. Minecraft is a game of imagination with endless possibilities. You're in a large open world and you can build whatever you want using different blocks, fences, trees etc. It's a bit like playing with Lego and this game is truly suitable for all ages. You can play the game in 'creative' mode where you instantly have access to all items, or you can play it in 'survival' mode where you have limited resources and you have to start from scratch to mine and create items you need. Its actually quite a complex game played in survival mode, but very enjoyable (you get attacked by monsters!). The PS4 version of the game is no different to any of the previous releases, so dont expect any noticeable difference in graphics. Minecraft is all about using your imagination and the gameplay. You can pretty much build what ever you want. Minecraft is highly recommended and for under £15 its a must in anybody's games collection!

Minecraft PS4!!!
Minecraft (PS4) If you, like me, have been a human being for the last few years (or more) then you will undoubtedly know/played/heard of Mojang’s Minecraft. A fun to play sandbox game that gives players the ability to build and craft whatever they wish, be it a structure to survive against monsters, or perhaps just let their creative mind do as they please while not having the threat of annoying monsters or other human players for that matter. I won’t go into what the game is about, because as I’m sure you’re aware, everyone knows what happens in this game. So what’s changed? That’s the most important thing isn’t it? As there’s more power available to players on the console, viewing is distanced dramatically. For example, can’t see that mountain the distance? You can now. Can’t see that skeleton shooting you? You can know etc. But other than that, it’s just that the graphics are smoother and that the worlds are a lot bigger. That’s it though, nothing’s changed, it’s still multiplayer and split-screen and single player, the replay value is high but at the same time for perfectionists it’s quite low. Once you’ve got your trophies you can move onto the next game and never look back at Minecraft. But the trophies are next to impossible to achieve, such as play 100 days online; no thanks Mojang; good luck next time. To sum up, nothings changed unless you’re really anal about what games you play, and if you’re an eight year old boy; then well this game is perfect for you to spend 100 days of your life on and never regret…

Kids (and adults) LOVE this game.
Not my style of game, but even I can appreciate how amazing it is - my kids absolutely love this and it is hugely entertaining while actually, genuinely educational at the same time. They build worlds, tell stories, and even raise farms, pets, animals, villages and more. I'm astounded how much there is to do, and for how long they've been playing - great value for money as it never ends. It's rare a game can hold attention for years, but the more you play it the more you get out of it. There's even the chance you could become a millionaire YouTuber if you get your streaming play right!

Perhaps a polarising game.
I imagine that Minecraft is a love or hate title. To be fair, at first I was in the second camp. My son is very much in the first. Over time, I've grown to really enjoy playing it with him and it's the local co-op aspect of this game that I really enjoy. I'm not much of a builder at all so the creative mode really doesn't do much for me at all. There are times when the whole family will play this for a few hours at a go and then times that no one will want to pick it up but overall, I've really enjoyed the purchase. It's essentially a sandbox and sometimes that can be overwhelming but as with everything, moderation is key. If nothing else, I have really appreciated my son's patience in creating his own world in this game along with seething at his ability to TNT the hell out everything in sight at other times.

Ridiculously Addictive!
I bought this after realizing this game was everywhere. Everywhere... It's stupidly addictive. I mean, I can spend (genuinely) hours in a mine, trying to find diamonds, and gold ore, and lapis lazuli without falling to my death down a random hole or into a pit of lava. I was so frustrated with a type of enemy called a creeper hanging about into the day and so play on peaceful, meaning that my house and I do not get blown to pieces but I can still build happily once I've obtained the materials and earn trophies for achievements met. You can build anything that pops into your mind. Small huts, grand castles, rollercoasters, copies of real buildings/bridges/ships. You name it./ Tame yourself a horse or donkey and ride about. Ride a pig! Tame a wolf and an ocelot to become your new pets.

Hours of fun for children and parents (or anyone else)!
My son is a big fan of Minecraft and talked me into purchasing this game so that we could play it together. I'm glad he did, as we have a lot of fun. We have a few games running, some in survival mode, others in creative. We have built so many structures together, and it is always so rewarding to work on any project with your child. It is similar to building things with Lego except the possibilities for what you are building are almost limitless. If your children are into Minecraft I highly recommend giving it a go, it is so nice to have some additional common ground as they grow older and become more independent in the way that they play.
