I’m 57. I’ve always had pretty decent skin . So I’ve not been too fussed with lotions and potions or facial skincare . I don’t wear make up often so a quick rub over with a face wipe and I’m done . However , two nights ago I foolishly decided to use a magnifying mirror to pluck my eyebrows and … woah!!! Dear Lord I was horrified to see HUGE open pores across my nose and on my forehead . I’m very short sighted without my glasses but these things were mahooosive . My skin resembled some sort of aged pitted fruit , and after further scrutiny I realised some of the pores were clogged with blackheads . I’ve never had a blackhead in my life ! These things appeared almost overnight and had colonised . I did some research and apparently this is quite common for ‘women of a certain age’ - something to do with hormones. So I panicked ( my life is very dull so I do tend to dramatise ) , did some more research, stuck my head over a vat of steaming water and basically boiled my face for 20 minutes . And then I scrubbed it with a paste made of bicarb of soda . The result? My complexion was like spam and it took hours for the burning sensation to subside … this is not something I’d recommend . Further research led me to all kinds of madness - I’d need a second mortgage to afford some of the treatments . And then I stumbled across these charcoal and black clay face masks , far more in my price range of £1.99. They arrived an hour ago and I’ve just used one of them. And … HURRAH!!! It worked ! It’s a bit gooey and messy to apply , probably best you read the instructions first though - I didn’t and slathered it everywhere . I am now minus blackheads … and most of my eyebrows 🤷‍♀️. But my skin definitely looks cleaner and those awful open pores are definitely less prominent . I suppose I could have just said ‘it works’ and that I’ve already bulk bought a load more but there’s nothing on the telly, I’m quite bored and I’ve got nothing else to do except shave my feet . So there we have it .

Love the face masks, would buy again, good value for money.
