Incredible EDC flashlight
It’s small, easy to carry, and easy to use. Simple click of the tail switch to turn on and change brightness. Uses rechargeable lithium 14500 battery, included. AA battery can also be used. Alkaline, Ni-MH, Lithium. Options and accessibility make it an ideal EDC flashlight. Great value and excellent quality. I have many flashlights and this is my favorite AA size light by far.

Best EDC / AA capable flashlight I’ve ever owned
Best AA flashlight I’ve ever owned The Nitecore MT1A Pro is honestly the perfect blend of simplicity and capability. What makes it special is that it runs flawlessly on its own rechargeable battery or a standard AA. With the included battery you get full power, USB-C charging, and an intuitive, modern interface but if I ever need to, I can throw in a regular AA and it still performs like a great everyday light. The UI is refreshingly simple: no confusing double-click trees, just easy access to every mode you actually use. Click for on, click for cycle. 3 modes low medium high and has memory of whatever you were on last. Build quality is excellent, brightness is impressive for its size, and it fits anywhere. Can also tail stand but has a perfect tail switch. Unique. It’s rare to find a light that’s this versatile and user-friendly. Whether you want a rechargeable work light or an emergency AA backup, the MT1A Pro nails it.

Pocket rocket
This thing is my work daily carry, more than enough light for utility work. This thing has a very powerful and intense light in a small compact package. The light can and will get hot with prolonged use at max power, but I haven't ran into a situation where I needed to run it at max power for long. The battery being usbc rechargeable makes it very easy to charge while on the way to a job site, you can also swap it out for a standard AA if needed. I've dropped this thing countless times and it still runs smoothly, definitely a durable work light. Nightcore's warranty is great too, they've replaced snapped clips and a whole flashlight without issue. Overall a great package for daily work, and a good backup to a bigger light like the MT2A Pro.

Wow I Love This Flashlight
The Nitecore MT1A Pro is a spectacular, compact, and powerful little flashlight. I took a few photos to compare it to the Streamlight Micro stream which is, of course, a much different flashlight but wanted to give a size reference. TLDR: BUY THIS FLASHLIGHT - It's awesome. I wear a large size glove and find that that width and girth of the Nitecore is perfect. It's still small enough to fit comfortably in my pocket and allow my hands to get a full purchase on the flashlight. The flashlight is bright enough for daily tasks at the 50 lumen setting and has options at 300 and 800 lumens for self defense, home defense, or other use. Personally - I love that this flashlight can easily flex into other spaces. The button click is soft enough where it's easier than the Streamlight options but not so soft that you'll find yourself accidentally turning the flashlight on in your pocket. The half click button press to switch between lumen settings is quick and easy and I love that the flashlight has a memory function to remember your last saved setting. The battery life on this is great. For daily tasks and using the light occasionally as my EDC light the flashlight can last a month on a single charge (easily). While the flashlight does get hot at the highest setting, I find that it's not unbearable like some other smaller, high powered flashlights. I returned a flashlight prior to ordering this one that got very hot and would accidentally turn on in my pocket. I hated that and thankfully this flashlight doesn't have that issue. All in all the Nitecore MT1A Pro is an amazing flashlight. Its small enough for every day carry and powerful enough to flex into spaces like daily tasks and into home defense. I would HIGHLY recommend this flashlight for anyone looking to upgrade their daily setup. Heck - when I showed my dad this flashlight he even went and bought one for himself!

Good simple light, more pros than cons
Pros: Solid flashlight. Good simple 3 intensity light, no strobe or other modes. Well made. USB-C rechargeable. Sits lightweight clipped in pocket…rides a little higher than I like. See picture. Loud click to activate but then silent tap/push of tail button to change intensity. Very bright for size which is just barely larger than its rechargeable AA battery. Has double use clip so could easily be clipped on bill of cap for hands free use. Head of light gets warm but not scorching hot with use on high. Tail cap protected by wings to somewhat prevent accidental pocket activation. See pics for highest and lowest in semi dark room at 15’. Cons: Loud click to activate…not stealth model. Have to remove battery to charge.

Best keychain light
I have been looking for a good keychain flashlight. For some this may be too big for that but I think it is the perfect size. This thing is bullet proof, I have yet to find a flashlight that compares in durability and battery life. I love that it has a simple push button on the back. Where many other edc lights have buttons and other things on the side that are really downsides in the context of keychain carry. The one potential con is that the beam is very much a spotlight but honestly for a light I’m often using to find something that has fallen on the ground or to look at one specific thing the spotlight is actually a great beam profile. Anyone looking for a keychain flashlight, I think you’d be hard pressed to find a better option. I haven’t mentioned it yet but it is very lightweight and the battery lasts me up to a month with regular use in short bursts of maybe 15 seconds up to 1 minute. I typically run the lowest setting. I love that it holds whichever your last setting was the next time you go to use it.

UPDATED: POOR QUALITY & WORSE BATTERY LIFE (Small in size but large in light!)
I left my original review and title to show the contrast in my experience over time. After a honeymoon period, I now want a divorce. My MT1A goes through batteries so fast I don't even carry it anymore. And when I do put a fresh battery in, half the time the flashlight turns on once, and then decides it's done and just won't turn on again until I switch ij another new battery. And, when the flashlight is working, the three levels of light won't engage. So in summary I have one light level instead of three and my flashlight works at most, one or of every two times I try to use it. I loved this flashlight and thought of have it for years like my one before it, but now, I'm just looking for a replacement. Small in size but large in light! I had the same EDC pocket flashlight for the last ten years. Sadly, the cap unscrewed and was lost to oblivion. When searching for a new EDC PF, I valued size and light equally. As expected, Nitecore came through. This little light is big on brightness and mini in measurements. Don't be fooled by its size though, you will be more than satisfied by how it illuminates the night. Build quality is excellent, the clip is extremely well designed (pocket and cap use!), and the on/off button is going to stay off in your pocket. Overall, this is an amazing EDC FL. The only improvement could suggest would be to magnetize the screw cap so that its utility could be increased.

Small but mighty
It is very small and very mighty and it fits in my pockets with ease. This flashlight is ergonomic and compact and can be used for a handful of applications and tasks. The battery life is impressive especially for the price. This is very easy to use and very bright and very powerful. 10/10 I highly recommend.
