The greatest hits album contains remixes of fifteen of her hit singles from 1983 to 1990, as well as the tracks 'Justify My Love' and 'Rescue Me'. Its title is a loose pun on the Immaculate Conception, the conception of the Virgin Mary without the stain of original sin (Madonna was raised as a Roman Catholic). Review: Mint album, sound is fantastic. Every song a hit - Got this as a second copy for a few quid to enjoy in our car as its what Mum and Dad always had on when we had a long drive... Wasn't sure how much of it I'd remember.... At the same time aware it was ingrained in my brain somewhere.... Just on our way home from Grannie and Grandad's my in laws a seemed a good time to test it out. Is 5his still a brilliant album? Yes. Yes it's fantastic Every tune is a banging 80s hit that ypu know al the words to. Sound is stunning.... Love the panning and remixes. .. My husband reckons original of Like a Prayer is better but... Well to me this is the one I knew as a kid so it's spot on! Great album. Review: Incomparable - Yes, some of the songs in this 1990 compilation are not in the same version you know from the radio or from your albums. Yes, the mixing in then-popular-now-forgotten Q Sound is questionable and on some stereo systems may sound unnatural. But YES, this Madonna compilation is the perfect introduction to her work of the 1980's down to the maybe her best ever single "Vogue" and the naughty "Justify My Love" penned by Lenny Kravitz in 1990. In the heyday of radio, Madonna was more a singles artist than in her later cohesive albums. So the hits never stop (some even had to be left out, like my favourite "True Blue" or the US No. 1 "Who's That Girl"), bringing "The Immaculate Collection" among the very few single disc compilations spanning rather a short period of time (mere seven years) and yet bringing 75 minutes of excellent, timeless pop music (Only The Beatles "1" comes to mind immediately now with such an album - and that's a career-spanning album). YES, after quarter of a century we can say that although Madonna was basically all image in the 1980's and her celebrity/controversy status was incomparably higher than most of her peers back then, what's most lasting about her is - HER MUSIC. And that's the ultimate testimony of her artistry.

THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION
Madonna scored some of the greatest songs in the 80's and many of them are placed on this compilation album...but these are remixed versions of the album versions. this is the greatest compelation album ever made...just a shame not all of her successful singles are captured here(whos that girl, true blue,oh father, over and over, and keep it together)but all the songs here are stunning. Holiday(the first album)-9/10 Lucky Star(the first album)-10/10 Borderline(the first album)-9/10 Like a virgin(like a virgin)-9/10 material girl(like a virgin)-9/10 Crazy for you(vision quest soundtrack)-8/10 Into The Groove(like a virgin)-10/10 Live to tell(true blue)-10/10 papa dont preach(true blue)-10/10 Open your heart(true blue)-10/10 La Isla Bonita(true blue)-10/10 Like A Prayer(like a prayer)-10/10-a great remix Express Yourself(like a prayer)-10/10-my favourite song of hers Cherish(like a prayer)-9/10 Vogue(im Breathless)-10/10-a masterclass song. Justify My Love(exclusive track)-10/10-feels like it should be on the Erotica album which came just over a year later...well its great enough to be!!! Rescue Me-10/10-another one that i think should have waited to be placed on the Erotica album but again, very good. all in all a great compelation of hits from her career throughout the 80's to 1990. recommended to every fan:)

Il primo vinile inizia con Holiday, un brano mitico, tutti brani del primo disco sono tratti, da i primi tre album, "Madonna", "Like a Virgin", "True Blue", TRANNE DUE, di cui ho i 45 giri "Crazy for you" tratto dal film Vision Quest e "Into the Grove" tratto dal film Cercasi Susan Disperatamente. Il secondo vinile contiene i successi dell'album "Like a prayer", due inediti: Justify My Love, scritta con Lenny Kravitz, e Rescue Me. Ovviamente consigliatissimo.
