Amazing
I bought it less than 1 month ago and it's a great phone. Very flexible and easy to use. Slightly more cumbersome than my Iphone 3G that I had for 2 years but I prefer it by far. Camera is impressive, media capabilities amazing. You can plug to pc and use it as a normal Hard Drive and control all the files, which for example is impossible with Iphone. Widgets are very useful and much better than the bare list of applications that you find on Ifone OS. Built quality is top notch. Browser is not great though but will be upgraded soon. Nokia don't know how to market this product but I am really surprised how good it is. Solid, reliable, good looking. Battery life also great, normal use it lasts me 2 days, much better than my Iphone. Thank you

Bought as a MP3 player in 2015
I have been in the market for a Mp3 player for a while but the current players available seem to be degenerating and reducing in specs. I was looking for a decent interface that I can quickly find and play music with no hassle. I want drag and drop & SD card slots. I was looking for Bluetooth connectivity & a FM transmitter built in. It also has to have a legacy headphone AUX out. The N8 ticks all these boxes. I recommend this as a Mp3 player in the current market. Its not a perfect player. But Nokia's in built music playing software is ok and above average. The N8 has 16gb phone memory and 32gb sd slot. Nothing to mega but its ok for me at the moment, until someone makes a Mp3 player that I want. The N8 was a fantastic phone in its day. I loved it. The camera is excellent. Its a bit fiddly sometimes. I wouldn't recommend the N8 as a smart phone in 2015, its 3G and the SYMBIAN store has been closed down. I put a cheap Sim card in the phone to stop the annoying messages. I put the phone in Offline mode. It only plays music now. No hassle . The battery life in offline mode is very good. I get around 24 hours of music play from the N8 with the inbuilt FM transmitter. The FM Transmitter is the N8`s party piece. I don't know any phone or (Decent) Mp3 player that has this option. Bluetooth works fine with my Bluetooth headphones. It connected ok with my works ford stereo also. Overall Im very please with my purchase.

Decent
I got the N8 as a compromise. I wanted to upgrade from my N79 but because technology is changing right now (NFC, 4G etc) I was not confident about investing big money in them yet. A good deal came up for a used N8 and I took it (essentially I paid less than I paid for the N79 new two years ago). Overall it's a sleek design, sturdy quality build. The size is big enough for the screen to be comfortable without the phone being too big to fit a pocket. The touchscreen is very responsive. Symbian Anna looks and feels decent. I've toyed with Symbian Belle on other devices and it is great, so I can't wait for it to come to the N8. Yes, Symbian comes with an expiration date. So do all phones. Apple dropped support for its first two iPhones quite soon. Ok, so it is not the fastest, biggest, meanest smartphone on the market. It wasn't when it came out and it certainly isn't now, a year and a half later, so some apps can take a few seconds to load. The camera is still king of the hill. Not many phones out there with proper xenon flash, and it does matter. Dual led doesn't come close and forget about single led. As far as apps are concerned, I'm not an app-maniac. There are apps for the stuff I care about. I don't need 100 apps for every single thing. Of the 3 home screens of Anna I've already removed one and still struggle to fill the other two. I just don't need much stuff at first touch. A shortcut to the apps folder can take care of everything I don't use daily. As of this date, I would not recommend it as a cutting edge phone. But if you are looking for a quality affordable smartphone to carry you through the next couple of years until NFC and 4G catch on, this one is a good candidate, especially if the camera matters to you.

Could not be happier!
I absolutely love this phone. The camera is amazing especially with the Symbian Anna updates and the beta labs extra patch. And talking of Symbian Anna its a hell of a lot better, faster and more user friendly than people say, in my humble opinion way better by far than the iOS if a little lacking in certain apps (I love iOS don't get me wrong but I want widgets and fully customisable homescreens not a locked down format and half a million apps). The large internal storage plus Micro SD slot and USB on the go make it so easy to store and swap everything onto and off the phone. USB O.T.G. is particularly useful when people notice how good the camera is as they'll be forever asking you to take pictures for them and its then fantastically easy to just put them on a USB stick straight from the phone. The battery life is also really impressive, with widgets online, email and social churning away, playing games, listining to music and reading ebooks and with the brightness up on full I still get two days, how many smartphones can say that these days. The Screen is Vibrant and bright even in direct sunlight and touchwise its a joy to use, I could go on but I haven't got time to list everything I love about this phone, it was well worth the ยฃ290 I paid and will stay with me for years. Also when the Symbian belle update comes out I'll update my review to reflect it. Can't recommend this phone enough buy it now!

I WAS SOLD A COUNTERFEIT NOKIA PRODUCT
I ordered 2 Nokia N8 handsets on the amazon.co.uk website on 23 October 2011. One handset was supplied by Ish and arrived on 25 October 2011. I was very happy with this handset. The other handset was supplied by marry1253. This handset arrived on 29 October 2011. It was clear this handset was a counterfeit Nokia product. I had the handset inspected by Lyn-Comm (IW) Ltd ( a Nokia dealer ) and was given a written confirmation that the handset was counterfeit. Despite all efforts to inform Amazon about my problem, I am still stuck with the handset.Amazon stated they are unable to contact the supplier marry1253 as they decided to leave the amazon.co.uk platform and are not eligible to receive further email communications. Amazon has investigated on 2 occasions but come back with the same result each time: Unable to do anything as they are unable to contact the supplier. This is after I ordered on the Amazon website and the payment was received by Amazon. They are really not caring about me as a customer.

Superb
My first dalliance with a smartphone ended with the very swift return of a Samsung Omnia II and I ordered this with some trepidation, encouraged by the 30 day no quibble guarantee. I'm very pleased with the Nokia N8. If you want, like I did: - a smartphone with a decent size screen to watch downloaded - not streamed - iPlayer on the commute - 16gb storage plus room for a micro SD and good sound for your mp3's with on the fly playlst facility, - 12mp camera - easy startup, navigation and screen customisation - simple apps like Spotify, DAB (although you'll need to buy headphones) - good clear phone sound, simple on screen buttons for texting and the usual email facilities: then look no further.

Archaic, even at half price
Hardware good, though what is the point of a nice colorful screen with a crap resolution, Case is slippery as an eel, Thinking I could update to the latest software to cure terrible response to inputs, I found it was already updated, I sent it back, What must it have been like before does not bare thinking about, I cannot believe Nokia launched this on to the market, it was like an early prototype, lots of potential but not nearly ready for sale. No wonder Apple made a killing, thank god for HTC

On reflection, pretty disappointed
I originally gave the N8 four stars but have demoted it to three with more experience using it. The HD video camera is superb, both on video and audio, and it takes pretty good stills, too. And it's a decent MP3 player, with lots of storage. But it's erratic, sometimes launching multiple random apps for no obvious reason, and if you touch the screen while taking it out of your pocket when it's ringing, it will sometimes decide to put the caller on hold, or send them a text, or hide them away behind an app. The sound quality on calls is poor. There have been two major operating system updates in the fifteen months I've had it, and the second one changed literally everything, every icon, every control, where things are stored, you name it, they changed it. With no warning, and no documentation. I had to relearn the phone almost from scratch, largely by trial and error. I guess I wasn't the only one unimpressed by the original software. The new software is a little better, but still erratic. Heavy use can drain the battery in a day, even with light use it needs charging every 2 or 3 days. Friends boast that their Android and Apple phones are much more intuitive, and I'm afraid I think they have a point. Pretty good hardware, badly let down by poor software.

realy it made in China
When I decided to buy this mobile phone, I assumed that it will be built in Finland or elsewhere in Europe. It turned out that it is collected in China. camera did not like, the battery holds its charge too one day. In the end, I was not very happy with, it is better to buy Samsung models
