The pill is too big Can I cut it?

I don't see why not; there's no liquid to spill. Cut it it 1/2, hopefully you won't have splinters of pill or a a bunch of dust. Try it once, if no go, you only wasted a pill

How long does this take to work to stop you from coughing

It usually works for me within one hour. It also helps loosen the gunk in your lungs that is making you cough but beware that once it is loosened, you will be coughing it up and out!
