Molecular Sieve works perfectly for my hearing aids.
Halhen is a molecular sieve desiccant. These come in various forms, for various purposes. This is for a adsorbing water -- for me, from my hearing aids. Dry circuitry lasts longer than damp circuitry, and while my hearing aids are ip67, I do place them in the Hal-Hen jar any time I shower. In addition to the new jar purchased in Jan, 2024, I have an older one from 2010. The older one has been reconstituted (baked 1/2 hr at 350F) many times in that interim. It continues to work, but I needed a second for another reason. I note that the 2024 version has about 1/2 of the molecular sieve that the 2010 version has. Thus, I expect to bake it twice as much. I consider this an inconvenience, as well as a cost/per that exceeded my expectations. One other use I've found is to reconstitute my silica desiccant capsules used in my hearing aid charger. A day in the jar, and the capsule has the proper color for a fully-charged desiccant. When charged, I keep the silica capsules in a small enclosed container. These capsules are incapable of being reconstituted via heat, and are considered disposable. Bottom line: Pro -- best desiccant I've found for hearing aids. Con -- much less desiccant per jar than previously.

Hal-Hen molecular sieves really work
We use Hal-Hen Super Dri-Aid for behind the ear instruments, and they work fine - accommodating the aids with no problem. The jar is very sturdy glass, though we have purchased plastic watertight jars at REI for travel (lightness and no glass). The jar we are currently using is about three years old, and the pellets can easily be reactivated to this date, though a few have fractured and we will be purchasing another jar. Given some apparent confusion and contradictory information, the jar instructions state: When to reactivate: (When blue pellets are white, like the others, it's time to reactivate.) How to reactivate: "Spread the Super Dri-Aid Pellets in a Pyrex microwave safe container... place in a regular household oven at 350 deg. F for 30 minutes - OR in a microwave oven with setting at MEDIUM and bake for 2 1/2 minute intervals until Blue Pellets return. Allow pellets to cool before placing back in jar. Normally each recharge will last between three and four months, depending on conditions. DO NOT place in broiler or open flame or cook in a pan over open flame. DO NOT at any time place the hearing aid or this jar in any oven. So, microwave or regular ovens are acceptable, and the clue is not about time, it's about the blue pellets whitening. The pellets last until they no longer turn blue or until they begin splitting or fracturing. Not a super cheap product, but a very good and cost-effective product that enables one to take proper care of a set of instruments costing thousands of dollars and extending their life.
