Genuine PS3 Sony Controller
I recently broke my controller that came with my super slim ps3. I had bought the ps3 from Amazon at Christmas and so asked Amazon and Playstation if the controller was covered as well as the console. I was informed within 1 hour of my email by Amazon that the controller was covered and I wouldn't have to return the console or controller as they no longer had the console in stock and I had added a hard drive and didn't want to return the whole thing. They informed me they had refunded £36.99 the cost of a controller onto the card used to buy the console. All this within 4 hours of writing to them. Brilliant service. After reading reviews about dodgy, fake controllers and other rubbish third party controllers I decided to play it safe and order direct from Amazon. As a result, I ordered at 4pm on Friday and receive it 8.30am Saturday, and it is 100% genuine. I recommend reading reviews and going for a genuine retailer. Pay the extra because as they say you get what you pay for. It's rare to get a real bargain if its not second hand. Don't go for third party retailers. I did with a laptop charger and got a cheap fake, exactly what I'd paid for at the price. Pay for the Sony quality, and what's more if it breaks again you have the 12 month warranty from date of purchase to fall back on, and judging by my experience, if you go for a genuine retailer like Amazon too, you also have the fantastic customer service and quick resolving of any issues too. Definitely worth an extra £10. If it breaks you can be sure to get a new one.

Good controller, does not come with a cable
I actually purchased this controller to use for my PC games and now that I have it set up it works perfectly. It works wirelessly using a simple, cheap USB dongle and charges by just plugging it into the PC with a USB port. It's an idea PC controller. Of course I forgot that it wouldn't come with a charger cable as Sony expect someone buying this to already own a PS3 and a charger, which I did not, but because it uses a generic USB Mini B connector I was able to use one from an old MP3 player to connect it instead. The fact that it uses generic products as accessories makes it very handy to use as a PC controller instead of the Xbox 360 wireless ones, which require a special charger and wireless adaptor.

Be Aware - Buy From Amazon Directly
After searching and searching and having my doubts about some of the "Official" PS3 Controllers on sale from the marketplace, I decided to spend a few extra quid and order direct from Amazon. So glad I did. You can guarantee a genuine product. Whilst not all "Official" PS3 Controllers on Amazon are fake, I read enough reviews from other buyers from other traders on the marketplace that put me off. Some controllers not working, some having a mind of their own, fake packaging, poorly built and the list goes on. So I am glad I paid those extra couple of pounds as what I got was a genuine, fully working "Official" PS3 Controller. Amazon gave me that peace of mind that I needed and that assurance of expecting to get exactly what I wanted & paid for. Check out what both K. Pang & MKG have said in their reviews, it's excellent advice and thanks to their reviews I made the right choice by buying from Amazon directly.

Make sure you buy it directly from Amazon.
If you buy your Dualshock 3 from Amazon itself, it will sure be an official Sony Dualshock 3. It's the best controller for your PS3, because it's the most precise controller for that console. Don't worry if you open it, and you put it side by side with your old PS3 bundled Dualshock controller, and it doesn't look the same. Amazon sends the new version (the old one has CECHZC2E serial, and the new one has CECHZC2Eb serial). It has a more rough surface on its case and circle, triangle, square and x buttons, compared to the old Dualshock. Moreover it has more battery life, so you can play with it more hours before charging it. It also gives a different sense with the vibration.

Expensive, but the only real option
Yep, its frustrating that the price point is pushed way up, but understandable. Once you try cheap knockoff controllers, you'll always miss the official controller that you know and love, so just bite the bullet and buy this instead. The item is great quality, perhaps barring the analog sticks. Your thumb slips off the sticks during long play sessions, and I've heard stories of the analog stick breaking from some people, though that's never happened to me. The controller charges using Mini USB but in my experience it must be plugged into the ps3; it cant be charged using a mini USB plugged into a socket, which is a little inconvenient. The battery life is very respectable (especially if you configure the controller to turn off after inactivity, so that if you leave your ps3 on while you go out or take a break, the controller will turn off to save its charge). Having bought Playstation products since gen 1, its frustrating to have to fork out this much, but the controller is mostly worth the cost. Just be careful that you buy an official one and don't get caught out by dud knockoffs.

Excellent but overpriced
Cant believe these controllers are still nearly 40 quid! I had a cheapo one that I got for 12 quid that worked for about a month, then the left paddle kept sticking and L3 stopped working properly, so I chucked it. I would only buy brand new original Sony accessories for my PS 3 and PS 4. I suggest you do to. If you can afford to buy these consoles and the games then why by cheap imitation accessories that will have you smashing them off the wall. Quite literally ( Maybe I need anger management :-))
