Do i have to run the software or is that just for storage purposes. i have a mac. i want to be able to run a bp at rest on my dog?

No need to run the software. It's all stored on the device. You can measure BP right away. The software is only if you want to get more fancy and do graph and schedules on your computer. I suggest you take several measurements each time and take the mean average. I always do three measurements with my cat and take the avg. ofbthe three. Works pretty good. Makes a difference whether you measure at the paw or the tail. .

The contec08a-vet came with a usb cable but there is nowhere to attach it. how do i download bp history to windows please?

Is there a car/dog option in this machine?

Accepted Answer

No, but there is a an option you must choice which is the size of the cuff.  The monitor only comes with the extra large cuff so you would have to buy the appropriate cuff.  I bought both the small and the medium cuffs.  I happen to have a Miniature Schnauzer (19 lbs.) and when I put the medium cuff on our dog the monitor gave a message stating the cuff was too large, so I had to switch to the small cuff.  Therefore, the monitor is smart enough to know which cuff is of proper use.
