Extremely good value anti-histermines
I have suffered from mild hay-fever for years. When I say "suffered from" maybe that is over egging the pudding a little. To be precise, what I mean is that during a few weeks in the summer months I get itchy eyes and sneeze a bit. And let's face it summer is over so quickly that when you think about how many days of the year this affects me it is not actually very many. It used to be worse when I was a child. I used to get it really bad then. My eyes itched so much I could not see. It adversely impacted my chances of being a professional cricketers anyway, well that's my excuse, the fact that I wasn't very good at either batting or bowling is another matter. The prophylactic for seasonal rhinitis in the 1970's was the dreaded Actifed which had the side effect of knocking you out for three days at a time and making the world spin around in a haze. Even though my hay-fever is now fairly mild, I can guarantee that if there is a day when the pollen levels are a bit higher than usual which is typically when the farmer across from where I live decides to harvest his fields, I search the house looking in drawers and pockets of jackets that I haven't worn since the previous summer madly trying to find some antihistamines. Cetirizine is now a generic product and there are plenty of factories in India churning them out in industrial quantities for a fraction of a penny each. High street retailers have interesting pricing strategies for these products. They are usually on 3 for the price of 2 or, in my local store, ยฃ5.95 per packet or two packets for ยฃ6. You think you are only a winner when you take the offer, however there are only 7 tablets in each so you are effectively only getting 2 weeks supply (so 42.8p each which doesn't sound quite so good). This bulk offer gets you 12 x 30 tablets = 360 tablets for the same price as 14 in the offer from the big higher street store. Or, staggeringly 1.8p each. Even if you only use one packet, you are onto a winner with these. They really are that good in terms of value. And, being a generic product, this is exactly the same chemical formula as that used in other Cetirizine. Seasonal rhinitis has never been as much fun as this before.

This product is very helpful to me. I have allergy and it is the only product that gives me 2 day relief instead of me having to take pills every day.

Use with caution, try no to exceed the dose!
I have mixed feelings about these tablets. On the positive side they work *extraordinarily well* and *extremely quickly* for hay fever symptoms (primarily runny nose, sneezing etc.). I also have ME/CFS and found - by accident - that these eliminated headaches whenever I had histamine-rich foods; so all good, right? Unfortunately not - the effectiveness of these tablets came at a hefty cost. My sinuses / nasal passages, even the skin on my face next to my nose all became unbearably dry (I'd go so far as to say temporarily damaged). For weeks I couldn't pinpoint the reason for said dryness, but by process of elimination narrowed it down to these tablets. In a way this makes perfect sense being that of course you're going to stop sneezing if there's little-to-no mucous being produced. But my goodness, do they dry you up... What I would say is to use these with extreme care (particularly if you already have an illness) and do your best NOT to have more than the stated dosage. It could be reasonably argued that my own experience is just the result of an already compromised immune system and my taking more than the recommended dose. So this is a cautionary review... I still believe these are a good product but had I known the risks I would've exercised more restraint instead of popping them like candy every time I wanted to enjoy (previously long-standing) intolerable foods (so to be fair, really have only myself to blame.) Having said that, these tablets also had an overpowering smell of cat pee (closest comparison I can think of) but what that indicates medically I can't say, being as I'm only a layperson. But could it be a sign of lower-quality ingredients? I don't like dropping more stars than necessary and if the ratings system allowed for half stars I'd had given 3.5. I'm left with the impression that my experience might not have been so severe had the ingredients also been of a higher quality (just a hunch based on reading other negative reviews). A good product but, unlike me, exercise common sense and restraint by following the dosage guidelines!
