Has anybody used this with Mac OS? What do you do for the 'fn' key?

I use it with MacOS and it works great! Download the free Karabiner, and you can remap almost all the keys to whatever you want, starting with swapping Command and Option.

Add in Keyboard Maestro and possibly BetterTouchTool, and you'll have more control over the keyboard than you would in Windows!

To get the function keys working, set the switch to "Fn", which will make the keys function as the standard MacOS media keys (for the most part—I had to remap a few to get them to work). Then, map the right CTRL or App Menu key to Fn. Whenever you hold that down the keys function as F-keys, just like on a standard Mac keyboard.

As far as the Fn switch goes, then, just leave it on the Fn setting 24/7 and pretend it doesn't exist. I could get a few of the keys mapped when it was on the media key setting, but some of them are hard-coded to send keyboard commands (F2 and F3, at least) so you can't remap them.

is this usb, or bluetooth?

2.4 GHZ I easily get 8+ feet.Be aware of the USB 3 conflict issues with some of the USB 2 and 2.4 equipment. I have had to seperate USB 3 from other 2.4 equipment, wireless keyboards & mice having intermittent problems.

Question 3

Does this keyboard come with the wrist rest riser? or do I need to buy it?

Yes, it comes with it. It's really cool; attaches by magnet so you can easily take it off for lap use of the keyboard. The little battery compartment door is magnetic, too. I can't believe I'm saying that Microsoft actually made something really amazing, something along the lines of what Apple would come up with. The ergo design is great for my large hands; no more thumbs banging together. One word of caution, however, if you really need / want to use the separate number pad: the battery in it gets wiped out in days and there's no way to turn it off, so if you don't mind spending 8+ $ on a battery every week or so it's fine, otherwise you will be greatly annoyed.

Question 4

How many of the function keys are totally programmable. I can't find ANY info on this. I need to be able to set certain keys for Copy Paste etc.

The ability to remap keys may be native in the Intellitype software on the PC. No native Mac ability, apart from the option to swap the ALT and CMD keys. But the simplest solution may be to learn the built-in shortcuts on the keyboard. Copy = Ctrl-C (windows) or CMD-C (mac)Cut = Ctrl-X (windows) or CMD-X (mac) (X looks like scissors) Paste = Ctrl-V (windows or CMD-V (mac) (resembles the shorthand for "insert here" used by proofreaders)Most of these shortcuts, including Bold, Italics, Underline, Select-all, are available in almost every program on every computer. It might be easier to learn them than to limit yourself to programmable keyboards. This is one of the best keyboards I've owned over the past 25 years.
