Solid, Quiet, and So Convenient
We’ve been using the VIVOHOME 1.5-gallon countertop water distiller for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed. First — the durability. It feels solid and sturdy, but it’s surprisingly lightweight and easy to move if needed. It doesn’t feel cheap at all. You can tell it’s well made. Second — it’s quiet. We honestly don’t even notice it running during the day while we’re going about our normal routine. That was important to us. We use distilled water strictly for our CPAP machine and nasal flushing. We don’t drink it, and it works perfectly for both. The water has no smell, no weird taste, and it gives us peace of mind knowing it’s clean and consistent. The biggest win? No more trips to the store and no more hauling heavy jugs of distilled water home. That alone has made this completely worth it. If you use distilled water regularly for medical equipment, this is a great investment. It’s convenient, reliable, and has simplified our routine. Highly recommend.

VIVOHOME Water Distiller Countertop
I’m absolutely thrilled with the VIVOHOME Water Distiller Countertop 1.6 Gallon/6L 900W! From setup to first use, everything was straightforward and hassle-free. The unit feels solid and well-built, and the smart switch makes it incredibly convenient—just set it and forget it while it produces clean, pure water. The distilled water tastes crisp and fresh, and I feel confident knowing it’s free from impurities. I love that it’s large enough for home or office use without taking up too much counter space. The included filter works perfectly, and cleaning the machine is quick and simple. Overall, this distiller is a game-changer for anyone wanting pure, safe drinking water every day. Highly recommend for home or office—it’s worth every penny!

No more lugging gallon jugs of water from the store!
Been using this for a couple of months now, and I must say I'm pleased with the way this machine works to make truly distilled water. I was buying bottled distilled water at over $1.00 a pop and lugging home the gallon jugs. I saved a bunch of the jugs and now refill them with the water this machine makes. Although we have a really good water softener (the water in my city is probably the hardest in the USA), I still need distilled water for my portable humidifiers (a MUST in the desert) and for my tabletop fountains. Although the instructions say you don't need to clean it after every cycle, I do that anyway to avoid buildup. There is always residue at the bottom of the tank after distilling, so I add an inch or 2 of vinegar to the tank, let it sit for about a half hour, wipe and clean with a dishrag and rinse it with fresh water and it's good as new. It takes several hours to produce 1 gallon of water, but that's OK. The unit turns off automatically once all the water is distilled.. One might wonder if the electricity costs to run the machine outweigh the cost of buying distilled water at the store, but I haven't seen any significant rise in my electric bills so that's not an issue for me. One thing that I've noticed is that I no longer have to clean my humidifier as often. I suspect that store-bought distilled water is not as "distilled" as it claims to be. I was constantly getting residue in the humidifier but now that's not an issue, so YAY! I don't use the unit for drinking water so I can't vouch for the taste (but most distilled water is kind of yucky IMO). I hope this thing lasts a long time because so far it's worth every cent, and will pay for itself in a couple more months in the savings from having to buy bottled distilled water. So if you're planning to buy this (or one like it), start saving those gallon jugs from the store.

Overall, I do really like the VIVOHOME Water Distiller!
Not sure how I want to rate this Water Distiller. I will start with things that need to be worked on. The cap that goes over the water canister. When you put it on top of the water canister, there's a small margin for error. I placed it on, started it, and came back much later, and the water was leaking down the counter onto my wood floor. I was not a happy camper, but I should have looked more closely at the downspout's position. After cleaning up the mess, I started to look at everything. Looking at the metal cap, there is a V-shaped piece of metal on the top to funnel water into the canister. The V should be facing out so it forms a funnel/trough, but when I turned it the way I thought it would work, that V funnel was on the far side of the hole, not even close to the downspout. I was confused why it had to be the other way. Then I spotted that the bottom of the Distiller's canister was wider than the top, and the plastic water canister, and they were hitting each other, making the hole the water needed to go into further away. So if the Water Distiller were higher, it would work better. I placed my rigid plastic cutting board under the Water Distiller. But that didn't make the downspout closer to the V funnel. I placed one of the rubber legs under the Water Distiller in the juice grove around my cutting board, which shifted it over the water canister and the V-funnel, lining it up much better. So what is my opinion? The solution is to make the Water Distiller canister top and bottom the same size. I am sure they did it this way to make it more stable due to the weight distribution. I think if they make the Water Distiller heaver on the base it would solve the problem. I have a H2O Labs Water Distiller, and the bottom is heavier. Now, to what I like about this Water Distiller. First, the capacity is 1.6 gallons, versus 1 gallon for most Water distillers. The made a handle in the lid so it is much easier to remove the top from the bottom. The VIVOHOME Water Distiller seems much faster than my H2o Labs Water Distiller. The power cord is good. On my H2o, Labs, it is shorter, which limits where I can place it. With that said, I really do like the VIVOHOME Water Distiller. I'm not quite sure how to rate this Water Distiller, so I'll start with areas that I think could use some improvement. One issue is the cap that fits over the water canister. When you place it on top, there's very little margin for error. I started the distiller and, when I returned later, I found water leaking down the counter onto my wood floor. Understandably, I was not happy. However, I realized I should have paid closer attention to the downspout's position. After cleaning up the mess, I examined everything more closely. The metal cap has a V-shaped piece on top that is supposed to funnel water into the canister. The V should be facing outward to create a proper funnel, but when I positioned it as I thought it should, the V funnel ended up on the far side of the hole, far from the downspout. This confused me, as it seemed the other way around should be the case. Then I noticed that the bottom of the distiller's canister is wider than the top, causing it to collide with the plastic water canister. This misalignment pushed the hole through which the water needed to flow farther away, which is why the distiller would perform better if it were higher. I placed a rigid plastic cutting board under the Water Distiller, but that didn’t bring the downspout closer to the V funnel. Eventually, I propped one of the rubber legs under the distiller on the juice groove of my cutting board, which shifted it over the water canister and aligned the V funnel much better. So, what’s my opinion? The solution would be to make the top and bottom of the Water Distiller canister the same size. I assume the current design is intended for stability due to weight distribution, but I think adding more weight to the base would solve the issue. I have an H2O Labs Water Distiller, and its base is heavier. Now, let's talk about what I like about this Water Distiller. First, it has a capacity of 1.6 gallons, compared to just 1 gallon for most water distillers. The lid also has a handle, making it much easier to remove the top from the bottom. Additionally, the VIVOHOME Water Distiller seems to operate much faster than my H2O Labs distiller. The power cord is also longer, giving me more flexibility in choosing a placement.

Excellent Distiller
My household goes through a lot of distilled water - cpap machine, humidifiers, ice maker, and aquarium top offs. This distiller is great for meeting those needs. It's easy to use, and works pretty quickly. Cleaning it is cheap- just get a bag of citric acid, it works just as well for descaling the interior, and is food safe. I only wish this brand sold extra carafes - the carafe that comes with the distiller is a very good size, and additional carafes are half the size.

Great distiller
I use this distiller almost every day. It’s well built, and reliable. My tap water runs around 100ppm. This distiller brings it down to 2-3ppm.

Absolutely do not recommend
So sorry there is not a zero stars option. Absolutely the worst product I have ever bought. I bought this one because it came highly recommended. It is sitting on a perfectly flat level surface and is correctly installed, and only about half of the water goes into the tank while the rest of it runs all over the counter, drip by drip. I tried turning around the metal receiving angle, then propping up the side away from the distillery by about a half an inch, as recommended by the company, and more water is going into the receiving tank now, but I should not have to do this. All it would take would be for the manufacturer to make the distribution spout about a half inch longer and all the water would go into the tank but they cheaped out by shortening the spout. It takes forever for 1 gallon of water to be processed, and then I only have about half of a gallon because the rest is all over the countertop. Very disappointed. Oh, and as some people have mentioned, it is loud but I'm not bothered by that. I'm bothered by a simple adjustment that the company could make that would keep this from happening. As the manufacturer shows, the open side of the receiving metal angle is facing toward the distiller. They discuss that one way of taking care of this problem is to turn out so that it faces the other way. That's not the way the product was built; they also suggest propping up the side away from the distiller. You shouldn't have to do that when you're on a level surface. Note a toothbrush underside is being used to prop up a tank because this seemed to be the right size.Junk junk junk!

An absolute most to keep all your appliances from being damaged from tap water.
I originally bought this to distill water to put in my humidifier over the cold winter months, but now I use it several times a week to fill decanters for my expresso maker, my Keurig and my countertop ice maker. The ice maker has a particulate meter that was showing maximum (999) and would clog up and not make ice. After using this for a couple months, I'm now down in the teens in its meter, and my ice maker is no longer clogging up. I don't taste a difference in the coffee, but I know using distilled is advantageous as there will be less buildup that would lead to the early demise of my expensive espresso maker. If I had to buy another one, I may go with one smaller than this. The 1.6L is a nice size but I wasn't able to find aftermarket plastic decanters for it, and was forced to order a fairly expensive glass one. (I know glass is better, but $60+ for a decanter was a bit offputting.) So, if you plan to distill alot of water and want to be able to store it, order the smaller one for the ease of getting additional decanters for cheap. Otherwise get this one.

Great unit!!
I have had this distiller for a few months and I am very happy with it. Price was excellent, quality good, design excellent. This unit has replaced our previous MegaHome distiller that sadly isn’t worth the price, in less than 2 years it died and it had cost me 3 x the price of my new unit. I like that this unit is larger has more megawatts so in less time than my old unit I have more water distilled water. The water tastes good, keep the unit clean between uses to save time on a crusty bottom, yes the pot does get discoloured but this isn’t uncommon in distillers depending on how much crap is in your water to start with. We have a water softener so yes there is lots of crap in the water. The container that collects the distilled water is sturdy, I transfer water to a glass gallon jug and keep a minimum of 12 gallons of water on hand for drinking and cooking. The unit shuts off when it is empty then you use the reset button for your next use. what I like is the on and off switch that I didn’t have on the other unit so if you want to stop the unit before it is empty just switch it off without unplugging it. Overall great machine for the price I paid, Thankyou for making this product so well!!

Solid, reliable machine – runs daily without issue
I’ve been using this 6L unit two (sometimes three) times every single day, and it hasn’t missed a beat. Proper workhorse. It just gets on with the job and does exactly what it’s supposed to. One thing worth saying – it’s much quieter than I expected. You read people saying these things are noisy, but honestly, this sits in the background and is quieter than a kettle. No problem having it running regularly. Build quality feels good, and it cuts off cleanly as it should. I’ve found I personally switch it off just before the auto cut-off point, just to avoid any chance of scorching inside, but even if there’s a bit of residue, it cleans off easily with the right cleaner. Only thing to be aware of: it does kick out a fair bit of heat from the top. It’s basically a 900W heater, so best placed in a cooler room or somewhere with a bit of airflow. Overall, really impressed – reliable, quiet, and does exactly what I need day in, day out. 👍

Works well, need cleaning often.
It works well enough. Takes about 5 hours to make one jug. Needs to be cleaned often, Included cedric acid was really a tiny amount for how much you need in order to clean it.

Weak cord, happy otherwise.
I had to give 4 stars as mine came with a cord that wouldn't make a solid 115v connection. I requested a return, which was approved. However, this cord is identical to standard computer so I substituted a larger gauge cord and kept the original item. Distiller now works well, from a single full water fill, it make about 5.5L of distilled in 4 3/4 hr. I prefer not to run it dry as there is quite a mess afterwards. I plugged mine into an Amazon wifi plug and instruct Alexa to shut off when it has run for 4 3/4 hr. A quick swipe with clean paper towels while still warm, there is very little deposits in the bottom. I use soft water from my hot water tap, and white vinegar for the minimal deposits left. So far pleased with this distiller, we use about 8 L of distilled a week.

Great to have. Large size allows for less refilling! Leak free holding vessel.
We had a smaller model that blew after a couple years of daily use. I love this bigger size, we can run it once over night in the summer (it heats up the kitchen) or anytime in the winter for added warmth. Lots of water for tea kettle, drinking, cooking. I also love that the vessel is one solid piece. No leaks! I am impressed with this. No more descaling kettles, humidifiers, etc, or needing to stock up distilled water in town
