Great CPU, runs hot, even on an AIO.
Bought this CPU to keep my AM4 system for the foreseeable future until the price for AM5 parts gets more affordable. The main problem is the CPU runs fairly hot, even with an AIO and some Thermal Grizzly PTM (though, I did find it cools fairly quickly after initial heavy loads). With that said, many things I did when I had a 5600X responded a little quicker with the 5800XT and games seemed to play a lot better with the CPU upgrade. With that said, I initially oveeclocked it at 3600GT/s before lower it to 3200GT/s and finally ran stable (doesn't crash or randomly rebooting). There where other things I did to my system (like cleaning it XD ), but know that this is a hot CPU.

Excellent if priced right
Among the top Zen 3 CPUs on the AM4 platform, it will take whatever one throws at it. Power-wise, it is not the most frugal, using ~15–27W when idle and ~130–140W during a heavy load. One can curb that to 88W by selecting the 65W mode without much loss, simulating a 5700X. Using a Peerless Assassin 120 SE, the 5800XT's temperature goes from the mid-20s to mid-70s in winter. First test the included Wraith Prism, and if not adequate, get a Phantom Spirit or Peerless Assassin. I was stuck between buying this or the 5800X3D Anniversary Edition. In the end, I decided that paying a fair bit more for marginal gains wasn't worth it, especially since I've got an Arc B580. The 16-core 5900XT would have been better, because I encode a lot, but the price wasn't right. Going from the 4600G to 5800XT was a considerable but not Earth-shattering improvement; however, Windows feels faster, and the B580 is better utilised in games. All in all, satisfied with the 5800XT and would recommend it if competitively priced.

Great CPU That Runs Hot (Normal)
Great CPU. I wanted to give my son my 5600X so I bought this 5800XT. It’s a great chip and performs very well in multitasking and gaming. Paired with a Sapphire Pulse 6800 and 32GB DDR4 3600 RAM it’s everything I need to play my games how I want to at 1440p. This CPU does run hot. So if you purchase it just know that’s normal. But I would recommend buying a different cooler than the one included. I feel AMD just had extra coolers lying around and decided to throw them in with this CPU since the 5800X (the older version of the 5800XT) does not come with a cooler. The included cooler is fine if you have nothing else but it probably won’t allow the 5800XT to run at full power. And with how cheap really good air and AIO coolers are there’s no reason not to get a better cooler for this chip. Overall if you are still on AM4 platform (and don’t want to pay the outrageous DDR5 RAM prices) and running a chipset that’s Ryzen 5500 or lower (especially if you have a 3000 series or older) then this 5800XT is a nice upgrade. Just remember it’s a hot running chip and to get the full power from it you’ll need a decent cooler.

Great processor, plenty of performance
Great processor, amazing for gaming, I believe I got it for $200 at the time, which seems fair. The color is quite loud at times but seems to keep the cpu cool enough. Don’t think I’ll be getting anything else for several years.

Great upgrade
Works as advertised, runs hot! But its supposed to! Will hit 91c, not a defect but a feature. Took some research on my end for that. Cooler works, can get quite loud but you can always adjust the fan curve. Dont use thermal paste that is pre applied to cooler, tried to leave it on there for "research" worked fine for a week before thermal throttling actually occurred. Thermal is old just remove it. Fresh coat of thermal and its good to go. Coming from a Ryzen 5 2700 this was a great upgrade for the money, got on sale as well. Overall satisfied with my purchase but do your own research with this particular cpu. In a hostile market of overpriced parts or otherwise unattainable parts, im happy with it. 4 stars for the pre applied paste on cooler, dont sell a product that cant last shelf life or is insufficient for the needs.

Great product
It may be a little expensive but for hardcore gaming and productive stuff is just perfect.

Best AM4 CPU available
this is the best AM4 CPU that's available on the market, upgraded from a R5 2600 and my FPS improvement is insane, I can actually play shooter/fps games at 240hz on 2K resolution now where I was getting like 100 before, definitely not bottlenecked anymore, good investment

a beast of a CPU
a beast of a CPU to get for a budget built , although it heats upto 80c with stock cooler in summer ,it hasn't dropped in performance yet. i would suggest getting a new thermal paste and applying that as the pre installed thermal paste is not that good and a new 600-800 thermal paste can lower the temps by 5-9 degrees easily . may it be gaming productivity or just casual use this cpu can handle it all without any lag or issue

Well, I didn't expect it to be this good...
Right so I went for the XT, and from my experience, don't bother with the X, or the X3D, unless you're doing a specific build. I upgraded from an i7 7700, to this, the Ryzen 7 5800XT, and I am very impressed. I did a new motherboard build (MSI MAG MAX) which complemented this nicely, but the key thing was the CPU comes with a new cpu cooler, the AMD Wraith, which works insanely well together. Fyi, the instructions with the CPU are pretty rubbish, but I knew what I was doing anyway. Also, a heartbreaking amount of force is required to secure the cooler to the CPU/ board, but the pre-applied thermal paste has worked just as well as the MX-4 does. Overall, very impressed, very fast. This CPU can run any game I throw at it, very capable! very good value for the price, and amd ain't too bad! (intel from day 1). Would recommend - 10/10. Fyi, go for something else if you have anything more powerful than a 4080.
