Very nice so far, way better than an OEM controller to me (Outstanding Support, Review Updated)
Update: August 19th, 2025: Back in June I started experiencing occasional double-click issues with the A button. At the time I didn't know if it was me or the game I was playing. It was a menu specific issue in just one game and I wasn't able to notice the issue in any other game. I worked around the issue in that game until well into July, but this controller went on sale so I ordered another one. I finally got around to testing the new controller on August 10th and the double-click issue could not be reproduced with the new controller so I contacted support. After sending them a video showing the issue they promptly responded asking where to send the replacement controller. I responded on the 12th and on the 13th they let me know they had requested the seller send me the replacement. That replacement controller was delivered on the 18th! Wow, this is probably the best support experience I've ever had! Due to this I'm upgrading my rating to 5 stars. Note: Any product you purchase might fail before it's time. The support you receive when that happens separates the good companies from the bad. This is a good company in my book! ---Original Review Below--- I have been using this controller on my Windows 11 PC to play Steam games for almost two weeks now and so far I'm satisfied. To me it works very well, has the extra paddles that are a lifesaver, and comes at a somewhat reasonable price. Pros: Hall Effect sticks - Basically the parts that are used to determine where the sticks are located use magnets instead of physical contact so they shouldn't wear out as quickly. The reason I ordered this controller is because I wore out my last controller's left stick in just two years. I hope this one lasts longer. Clickity Click Buttons - These buttons use actual switches instead of membranes to give you a tactile feedback similar to a mechanical keyboard. This gives them a solid feel instead of the mushy feeling of a membrane switch. Paddles that can be mapped - The back paddles are the real deal and make me very happy. So many games require you to press either Left Stick (LS) or Right Stick (RS) repeatedly for things like running or zooming in and it makes my hands hurt. The ability to add a mapping to one of these paddles as an alternate is huge! Quick Change Profiles - Should you need a profile for something special in game you can switch between profiles instantly. Are the paddle mappings getting activated when you don't want them to? Just switch to the default profile until you need them, then switch it back as needed. It's pretty seamless. Cons: Size/shape - For some reason the size and shape of this controller feels off. This causes me some issues when switching back and forth between this controller and the OEM. To me this controller feels a bit small and I don't even have large hands, but I did get used to it in time. Button Placement - The Menu and View buttons are too high up on the controller and cause fumbling when trying to locate them in game. On the OEM controller I can reach these buttons without moving my thumbs up from their natural position, but they are above the tips of my thumbs on this controller so I have to reposition to reach them. Once you get used to them and try playing with an OEM controller you have the issues in the other direction. For the next iteration they should consider only moving these buttons up about 1 or 2 millimeters from the OEM at most, but only if required. Otherwise, make it as close to the OEM as possible to avoid this issue. Cable Port - The Cable port is designed such that the USB cable end gets recessed into the front of the controller. While this limits the amount of connector protruding from the front of your controller and helps to prevent breakage, it also limits interchangeability of cables. The cable that came with my Xbox Series X plugged right in, but the one that came with my Xbox Wireless Controller + Wireless Adapter for Windows 10 did not. Don't break that cable, else finding a replacement might prove troubling. Overall, I feel like this is a very good controller so far and I haven't found any reliability or function issues yet. I also downloaded the App to my Xbox Series X and easily configured the controller before attaching it to my PC. I didn't want to install the App on my PC because I already have too many other things installed and it's getting bloated. Even so, the controller functions perfectly without the App installed and that is a huge plus! *Note: The included Game Pass code is only redeemable if you don't already have Game Pass. I do not appreciate this tactic and strongly feel like I am being cheated when I cannot redeem the code included with a product. I mean, I paid the same price for this controller as someone who didn't already have Game Pass. I am not holding GameSir accountable for this though. It's squarely on Microsoft for limiting this code's use.

Best bang for your buck!
Best value when it comes to a licensed controller with back buttons and hall effect sticks. Been using this for almost a year and still no stick drift, no sticky buttons honestly has been a fantastic controller. The app you can download off the Xbox store lets you really customize everything from zeroing the sticks, to triggers, to custom button mapping, really impressed with the interface. It is a little bit smaller then a standard Xbox control but you adjust pretty quick. If this ever goes out I might consider the G7 pro, but for the money ill extremely happy with the G7 HE.

Great pick
Had to stop and give GameSir's new controller a great review. There have been significant upgrades since the last model I bought in 2023, the one with colored A-B-X-Y buttons. Firstly, buttons now have a physical click when pressed, which is a great feel. The joysticks are snappy and feel amazing. And lastly, the grip on the back has been upgraded to a rubber diamond cut pattern. I was happy with the first model because the potentiometers didn't give out like on stock Xbox cordless controllers, I went through four of those in a matter of months, they developed dreadful stick drift. GamesSir is cheaper and higher quality than Xbox. My only con with this controller, which is almost negligible, is that there's a tiny bit of play with the A-B-X-Y buttons before you feel the click. Ultimately, I'm even more satisfied with this new model, it's awesome!

Sometimes You Get More Than What You Paid For
So I’m a few hours of gaming in and here are my general impressions: Firstly it was packaged very nicely, not too many frills but the box is still nice enough to display if that’s your thing. It felt slightly smaller and lighter in my hands in comparison with the oem Xbox controller but negligibly so, maybe by a couple of mm and an ounce or so. The buttons are also smaller, my thumb can cover all four at once whereas with the Xbox controller you can still see the edges of the buttons, which was jarring visually but over time I noticed that the smaller buttons actually made my inputs faster because there is virtually no travel time between buttons. Tacitly they feel nice and clickey, like a computer mouse button. Same goes for the d-pad, slight smaller, yet slightly more responsive. That said it’s a standard cross style pad and not the circular one like what’s on the Xbox controller so diagonal inputs take a little getting used to but not annoying so. The thumbsticks feel great and are located exactly where they should be. The triggers and bumpers are very comfortable and responsive. The paddle buttons are right where your middle fingers rest on the controller. Not too big to be distracting but not so small so that you’re not thinking about where they are when you need to use them. They aren’t necessary but it’s a nice addition and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft does something similar with future controllers because their placement and usage doesn’t alter your grip or feel on the controller at all. The menu and view buttons are slightly different from where they are on the oem controller but it’s not that bad and tbh, you could remap them to the paddles which actually would be an improvement over the oem. It was plug and play right out of the box, no configurations or updates needed. If there is one nitpick I have it’s that the slot for the usb-C is slightly narrower than the oem Xbox cable and it won’t fit so you have to use the cable that’s included with the Gamesir controller. It’s a nice, long braided cable so quality-wise that’s cool, but it was slightly annoying that I couldn’t used the cable I already had plugged in. The app was right there in the Microsoft Store to download and was very simple to navigate and play with the settings and set up your custom configurations of which you can store 3 plus the default configuration. The vibration is great out of the box in my opinion but you can customize it to your liking in the app and dial it up or down exactly how you prefer. The digital hair trigger works great. Obviously you can’t feel any difference in the triggers but when it’s activated even the slightest pressure on which ever trigger you designate registers as a full pull. There’s no direct way to turn the hair triggers on/off on the controller itself which would’ve been perfect but you can make a configuration profile with the hair trigger on and just switch back and forth as needed by holding the M button at the bottom middle of the controller and pressing either X, A or B depending on which profile you set up and then M and the Y button to go back to the stock configuration. Overall this is a great controller at a great price point, it’s not an exact fit and feel match to the oem controller but in many ways it’s just as good if not better. One final note, included in the box was a code for a month of Gamepass Ultimate. If you are already a monthly subscriber then essentially that saves you $20 that you were going to spend anyway so with this in mind that makes this controller even better value than it already is. TL;DR Buy it!

Great controller with some things to note
I have note tried this on my PC yet but, to get the most out of this controller you have to install their software. Xbox users: (I’m using this on a series x) Note that when turning on the Xbox you have to hold the Xbox button much longer than other controllers. At first I thought it did not work correctly and would not turn my Xbox on. You will need to install the “GameSir Nexus” app to be able to utilize the features of this controller. A downside to me is that the Xbox will not even register the extra buttons without the software assigning a button to it. It makes things less convenient due to not being able to map the buttons inside games on a per game basis, you have to set them in one of four profiles allowed. While easy to switch between the profiles, the app is pretty clunky. That aside, setting the analog sticks to raw input and the triggers to hair trigger is phenomenal, and probably my favorite feature of this controller. Now to review the controller itself: To me the ergonomics feel pretty great. Sits comfortably in my hands and I have somewhat large hands though my pinky fingers can reach beyond the ends of the grips. It does have the rubberized coating to help your grip which does feel good and make your grip more secure. Buttons: all the buttons are very responsive, they are clicky which I like but the noise may bother some people. The “start and select” type buttons are a little higher than normal controllers and take some getting used to, just something to note but not a huge deal. Now for the back extra buttons….their placement is on the back of the hand grips where your fingers naturally sit and are EXTREMELY easy to activate so I find myself not using them at the moment. I feel like it would take making myself get accustomed to a different way of gripping my controller. This is my biggest complaint and fault I can find with the controller. Now I’m not sure why the cable is not permanently attached to this as it is a wired controller, maybe to break away incase tripped on? But they were thoughtful with the design which I am very happy about- where the usb c connection plugs into the controller, it is recessed in so there is no play on the connection thus reducing the chance of the port being compromised by wiggling. Now the auxiliary audio port I cannot review as I have not used it so I cannot attest to the quality of this. There is a M button between the d pad and right analog stick that you can hold down and press the d pad for audio shortcuts. I cannot review the rumble features either as I rumble off on my controllers. Though based on the application it does appear to have multiple areas with their own vibration which could add to immersiveness. Overall, in spite of some of the shortcomings listed I would still absolutely recommend this controller. The price is a bargain for what you get and the controller does not feel cheap in any way.

GameSir G7 HE – A Worthy Upgrade Over the G7 SE!
I’ve been using the GameSir G7 HE for a couple hours now, and it’s hands down one of the best wired controllers for Xbox and PC. I previously owned the G7 SE, which was already great, but the G7 HE takes things to the next level with some key improvements. What Makes the G7 HE Better? Hall Effect Triggers & Sticks – Just like the SE, the HE has drift-free Hall Effect sticks, but now the triggers get the same upgrade! This means smoother and more precise trigger control, perfect for racing games and shooters. Improved Buttons – The face buttons feel more tactile and responsive compared to the softer press of the SE. More Refined Build Quality – The HE feels slightly sturdier and more premium in hand, though the SE was already solid. Still Great Customization – Just like the SE, you get swappable faceplates and full remapping options via GameSir’s software. Why Choose the HE Over the SE? If you loved the G7 SE but wanted better triggers, the G7 HE is a no-brainer. If you’re new to GameSir controllers, this is the best one yet, offering excellent performance at a great price. The GameSir G7 HE is an absolute steal for anyone looking for a high-quality, wired Xbox/PC controller. The Hall Effect upgrades make a real difference, and it’s easily one of the best alternatives to first-party controllers. Highly recommended!

Value and Quality
Bought this after having issues with OEM Xbox controller. 4 days after I bought the Xbox brand one It quit working. This controller is amazing, hall effect means there's gonna be no drift and it's everything I could've asked for. It has a good texture on the controller which was super important because I love the original Xbox brand feeling. Ok so, yes the a b x y buttons are really clicky and that's nice, although most the time I have my headphones in. Maybe this controller is a little smaller than I would prefer, but I will take a controller with longevity versus the perfect fitted controller. I don't think you can go right with another third party option, gamesir is my new go to . It came with a free month of Xbox game pass ultimate which is 30$ in of itself, of course when it comes to the controller, I'm just looking forward to it to continue operating the way it is, although I'm fearful cuz I've ran through so many original Xbox controllers. Still hopeful and I think this is a good option as they have warranty support directly through gamesir and the value has already paid for itself in the first week of having it. Super long and durable USB c cord , prolly 6 feet long or longer. Doesn't pop out easily, I haven't unintentionally disconnected it once Overall 9.2/10

Worth every last little penny
TLDR: for $40ish bucks you cannot go wrong. I’d probably buy 3 G7 HEs over one MS Elite controller. While I cannot comment to GameSir’s Windows software, I can comment on the hardware. After experiencing this controller I might never buy 1st party accessories again. The price to performance the GameSir offers is incredible. Using this controller on a Win11 PC. It was recognized as an Xbox One controller in W11/Steam. Plug it in and play. No fuss, no hacks. Game Pass games work excellent as does my Steam library. Perks of being an official Xbox accessory. Input delay is nonexistent… if there is input lag I’m not good enough at games to where it’s a factor. ABXY buttons are VERY satisfying to use. DPad is above average for a 4-way unit. Thumb sticks feel great; there’s a small touch of dead zone that feels very close to a MS/Sony controller. If there’s one thing I have to complain about: you have to hit the Xbox button to ensure the controller is on. Oh and not every USB-C cable fits the controller well. Thankfully the included USBA to USBC cable is quality and of sufficient length.

No drift

Unbelievable quality and value
Extremely impressed with this controller - at a similar price to the official Xbox controllers it is superior in practically every way. The Hall effect sticks and triggers are superb, the mechanical face buttons are incredibly satisfying to click, the build quality is noticeably better than the official controllers, the rubber grips are a nice touch, the included USB-C cable is braided, a generous length, and has a Velcro cable tie attached to it. The wired connection is also incredibly low-latency - easily one of the most responsive controllers I’ve ever used. It even has additional QOL features such as built-in audio controls, and rear-mounted mappable L4 & R4 paddles (although they can only act as a secondary input for the standard Xbox buttons - you can’t map these paddles as individual inputs unfortunately - though this is a limitation of Xinput rather than a design issue). This controller demonstrates a level of quality that even the £100+ Xbox “Pro” controllers from Microsoft hardly come close to - and for less than half the price. And to top it off, you get a month of Xbox Gamepass ultimate included for free - awesome. The only thing I would say is that it unfortunately has no wireless capability, although this is due to Microsoft’s licensing policy rather than Gamesir themselves - so can’t really fault their product for Microsoft’s nonsense. I’ve never used a Gamesir product before, but I’m thoroughly impressed with this one and it deserves all the praise I’ve seen online - Microsoft could learn a thing or two from these guys. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a step above the official controllers… without even having to pay extra.

Absolute trash in my mailbox!
I am utterly disgusted with the product I received. Made a good day turn into a horrible one. Would rate zero but that is not an option.
