Estwing 14” axe is great USA quality
Estwing is a fine example of USA quality! So handy, confortable rubber grip, works so well, integral head and handle is built like unbreakable! I have one in each vehicle, one out in our shed, and one out in our barn. You just can’t beat the quality at this price. I also have larger sized Estwing axes for my more serious chopping chores!

Light and durable
Bought this for my son after my old axe head became too loose to pound back on. This small axe is perfect size for camping, the concave wedge shape of the head makes it easier to split wood and pull the axe out, and the one piece construction seems very sturdy. The edge is easy to sharpen and can get knife style sharp. The handle is comfortable to use and does not slip when wet, but I would prefer a leather handle like the other ESTWING axes since it begins to rub by your pinky if you use this axe when it is wet. Overall, great axe for camping and making bonfires and it is a much better quality axe than the Gerber Chinese made ones which chip the edge easily.

usa made awesomeness at a killer price. GET IT
I bought this to retire my old estwing that my grandfather gave to me probably 40 years ago. It arrived hair shaving sharp, in perfect condition. It smacks right through smaller pieces of wood, wet or dry. I got mine on sale for $36. YOU CANNOT TOUCH THIS PERFORMANCE on any other hatchet in this price point.if you need a hatchet that you can give to your kids and their kids, estwing is the no brainer choice. Made in the USA of proper tool steel. Their 1055 is TOUGH, and easy to resharpen. Stoked to take it camping here in Colorado with my new cold steel trail boss.

Good All Around Camping Hatchet
This is a good little hatchet for camp chores. Its all-steel construction makes it heavier than some other hatchets of this size, so it may not be the best choice for backpacking. However, the extra weight seems to help it when splitting firewood. The rubber grip also helps dampen shock during use, which makes it much more comfortable when using it for long periods of time. Out of the box, it appeared to be well made, but the edge definitely needed some work. After sharpening, it chops well enough, splits well enough and drives tent stakes well enough to earn its keep in camp. It's also still made in the USA.

Very nice heavy duty hatchet
Very nice heavy duty hatchet! Very sharp when it arrives with a good sheath. Maybe a bit heavy for younger kids. Should last forever.

attenzione è affilata!
Tutto quello che ci si aspetta in più arriva veramente affilata, per la fretta di dare un occhiata togliendola dal fodero quasi mi tagliavo... quindi ottimo!

Good axe
Apart from the fact it has manufacturing defects such as paint bubbles and not very sharp, its an amazing axe design with good shock dampening handle.

Buen material
El acero se siente de calidad y el mango es increíble, se nota que amortigua muy bien los golpes y no se resbala para nada.

Great Camping Axe
When all's said and done, the best metal for an axe is high-carbon steel, and the Estwing 14" axe delivers. The black coating helps resist corrosion, and the rubber handle helps to absorb shock. This little axe is perfect for camping chores. If you want to build a log cabin or cut down big trees, then get a wood saw or a larger axe. But you can attach this axe to your pack or even attach it to your belt. It comes with a sheath for the axe head. This axe should last for generations, given proper care. Keep the exposed metal surfaces coated with a light film of oil or silicone grease, and use proper sharpening techniques for a small axe. This is what you need for camping--forget that "batoning" nonsense that would have you driving your knife through pieces of wood--your knife was NOT designed for such antics, and you will eventually destroy your knife. Use the right tool for the job--this applies as much in the woods as in a repair shop.
