One of the best items you can get to sync with Alexa and control many things.
Been buying these for a while. I actually instruct customers to buy these for many uses. You can setup run times and control all of them easy using Alexa. I have some connected to lamps, a shop fan that is 15ft up and equipment i only want on half the day. With my shop fan I can tell Alexa to turrn it on any time then ask her to turn of in a specific amount of time like in 30 minutes. For customers I have helped them do things like an Open sign that is high up in a window, set this up for open to close hours and never worry about the sign being left on.

— Absolutely obsessed! Easy setup, but buy the bigger pack first!
Verified Purchase I absolutely love these smart plugs! I am completely obsessed with my Alexa smart home setup and have just about everything you can imagine tied into my Alexa hub. These plugs were a perfect addition. I’ve used them to control our patio string lights, neon beer and decorative lights, the patio fountain, and so much more—all with simple voice commands. They are incredibly easy to set up; I had each individual plug added and working in less than 5 minutes. My only complaint is that I didn't order enough the first time around! I originally bought the 3-pack and found uses for them so quickly that I immediately had to go back and order the larger box. They work flawlessly and I love them. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite smart plug and I've tried tons of them
I've tried cheaper smart plug brands, but honestly, the easiest ones that don't require you to go through many extra steps just to get them to connect to Alexa are worth it. These are just plug-and-play, Alexa-compatible, and do the majority of the work for you. Plus, they are reliable for timing, and the quality is fantastic. I know I can count on these smart plugs to run my devices just the way I need them to when I am away. They are stable, and the timer is flawless. The price for the two-pack was reasonable, and I am a repeat buyer, having replaced my bargain smart plugs with these ones instead. When you need to depend on a smart plug to run your necessary devices, look no further.

A must have!
I love this plug! It turns on my light at a certain time and turns it off at a certain time. No more forgetting to turn off. I love this technology! Makes my life easier.

Create 2.4 GHz band on a 5 GHz router, then problem connecting? Here's HELP. UPDATE
UPDATE: I now have 6 of these. The first two purchased have worked flawlessly. Two of the second four have as well, but one of them keeps losing its wifi connection. (The last one is still unused.) So it is possible that some of these have connection issues, as other reviewers state. ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you're connecting to a 2.4 GHz router and Amazon has your wifi password saved, Alexa does all the work and these are 5 star. But . . . the frustration connecting to 2.4 band on a dual router caused me three hours frustration and causes me to dock a star off. Here's help for you -- it's a scandal these instructions don't come in the box. I had two problems, first, forcing the switch to go to the 2.4 band I set up, and second, getting the password for that network to work. If either/both of those are what you need to know how to fix, skip the next paragraph and go to the numbered steps. Problem: my router only has a 5GHz band. You need to fix this first. Most 5 GHz routers will allow you to create a second (or more) band that is 2.4 GHz. You have to log in to the router's settings with the admin credentials to do that. Since I don't know what router you have, you're going to have to figure that out on your own, then follow the remaining steps below to solve the connection problems that occur after. ***Before starting the following, make sure the device you are using the Alexa app on for setup is connected to your 2.4 GHz wifi band*** Amazon Alexa automatic set up is trying to connect to 5 GHz, plug won't work 1. Log into your Amazon account. Go to account settings, devices. At the top under "Manage Your Content and Devices" click on Preferences. 2. Scroll down to Saved Network Passwords and look for Frustration-Free Setup. If it is enabled (as is likely), disable it. 3. Reset the plug to factory defaults by holding in its power button until the LED on the front flashes, and start the setup process again. This time Alexa will go into the manual setup mode, will display networks in range, and you can choose your 2.4 GHz band. Hopefully, your problem is now solved. But, if Alexa now tells you the Wi-Fi password you're entering is incorrect . . . Alexa says Wi-Fi password is incorrect 1. Aarrggghh. That's not a password, that was my frustration. Unplug the plug from the AC outlet. 2. Go reboot your router. (Maybe not necessary, just telling you what worked for me.) 3. Move the plug to an outlet closer to the router. (Again, maybe not necessary, just telling you what worked for me.) Hold the power button down to reset it to factory defaults. 4. Now start setup in the Alexa app. This time (for me) your wifi network name(s) will not appear. At the bottom of the list that does appear, click on add a new network. 5. It will prompt you to enter the network name. Type in your 2.4 GHz network name. 6. If it shows "unencrypted" click on change, and select which encryption method your router is using. 7. Type in your password. 8. Click on continue, and, hopefully, SUCCESS! It worked for me. Good luck.

these have thrown my life into chaos. I hate them. I wish they would leave earth forever.
Don’t be fooled by the product description that makes it sound like it’s as easy as plugging it in and then pairing it with your Alexa. No such thing. If you are on a 5G Internet, these plugs will not work at all. If you are on a dual band, you are going to have to split it so that your 2.4 G Internet can be accessed exclusively by the plugs. but know this splitting your dual band Internet into two separate Internet will sign you out out of every device you’ve ever put on, and will render all of your Alexa accessories useless because they don’t want to be hooked up to the same Internet as the plugs, but if they’re not, then the plugs don’t work. i’ve spent three days trying to get the plugs to work finally having to split my Internet, and then getting the plugs to work, but having all of my Alexa echoes go off-line and refuse to come back online. They only came back online when I hooked them back up to the 5G while all the plugs remain on the 2.4, and half the time the plugs are non-responsive and don’t work with Alexa at all. I honestly would’ve gotten much more use out of buying a single smart plug for the same price than these four smart plugs that require a very specific Internet bandwidth. The more expensive singular plug doesn’t care what your Internet is. Just as long as there’s Internet. I’m still trying to get my blink cameras to go back online after all of this. Two of my Amazon echoes are not working. And two of the plugs just don’t work at all. And none of them were simple to set up. First of all, the QR code you’re supposed to scan to set up your plug is located on the inside of the plug that faces the wall. So to set up the plug, which Amazon says you need to have going before you start the app, you have to scan the QR code that you can’t scan unless you unplugged the plug. So that is annoying. And if you can’t give it the right QR code it makes you pair by putting it into pairing mode, which, unlike regular technology, requires you to sit and hold the button down throughout the entire set process. That and then of itself drove me crazy, because the set up is not simple after that either. The darn thing never connects the first time. It takes forever to find the actual plug. Then it’s a crapshoot on whether or not it will want to connect to the Internet or Bluetooth. Then after that, who knows if Alexa will even want to recognize the plug exists. What should be a 5 to 10 minute process has turned into a 72 hour (and counting) nightmare. This was an incredibly frustrating waste of money for me, a frustrating waste of time, and a real eye-opener in my pursuit of technology and how much I utilize Amazon services. Maybe I need to start looking elsewhere for my smart home gadgets. If you’re not a master of Internet, technology and routers and bandwidth and all the things engineering, you do not want these smart plugs. Save yourself a headache and save yourself the money. Go find a smart plug that does not require you to split your Internet bands. They are four times more expensive, and 100 times less frustrating.

I had used another company’s smart plugs but then tried this one—very pleased (great savings, too)!
This Amazon Basics smart plug is a simple and convenient way to add scheduling and remote control to everyday devices. Setup was straightforward, and I like being able to control the plug through the app and use voice commands when needed. The timer and scheduling features are especially useful for automating lights and other household items. It has a compact design and works reliably with my Wi-Fi. Overall, a handy smart-home accessory that is easy to use and offers plenty of convenience.

Easy peasy
We use Alexa to turn on and off a LOT of stuff. Alexa routines have made our lives a lot easier. Helping us remember things (we are older), order everyday items when needed, etc. Over the years we have tried many different plugs. Most need their own app to setup for Alexa use and reset up when they get disconnected or fail. What a pain in the butt. We got newer phones that absolutely refuse to connect to 2.4 ghz and stay there so you can setup new plugs to work with Alexa. Their solution is to go into your router, rename your 5ghz band to something else, restart your router blah blah blah. Nope. Ain't doin that. These plugs cost more..... And they only work with Alexa. So what?? That's all I use them with anyway and it's worth the few extra bucks to get something that literally takes about 2 minutes to set up. Wish I had been buying these from the get go. I don't know about you but I got enough crap to deal with. It's nice to have something that just works.... No hassle, no pain, no drama. I'm all in.

Great product! Simple set up.
I will only ever buy this brand again. Set up was simple. Other brands use a hub app and it complicates set up. This one uses Alexa directly. I got all four plugs set up in moments. Thumbs up!
