This air purifier is AMAZING…
SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, STILL GOING STRONG! I purchased this air purifier in December 2024, and as of July 2025 this unit is just as efficient and responsive as the day I opened it. After my last update, I changed the filter and it has made a difference in its efficiency and I’ve noticed that the unit doesn’t run as often on the “auto” setting (this is the setting I have run consistently throughout my ownership thus far). The app continues to provide good basic guidance for metrics on where the purifier is performing and what the remaining life of the air filter is. Barring some unexpected event, I will continue to recommend this air purifier to anyone who is in the market. UPDATED REVIEW: ONE MONTH LATER, STILL GOING STRONG, WITH FILTER PHOTO... I am thrilled to say that I am still happy with this product and purchase overall. I haven't had any issues with noise, responsiveness or the basic functions of the unit. It has continued to keep the air in room cleaner and fresher than before. The only thing I have noticed it that runs considerably longer than it did the first 7-10 days without any real changes in how I clean/keep the space around it. Without this variable change, it makes me wonder how efficient the unit is truly running, since it kicks on the moment I open my bedroom door and will continue to run unless I close it (if I do close the door then it senses it, and will continue to run until it "senses" the air quality is back to excellent per my setting in the app). The filter reading on the app is at 79%, which seems in line with how often/long the unit seems to be running these days though I concern for how long it will last long-term if this trend continues, and I'm only one month into use. ***I was at the tailend of my update when I removed the front cover to look at the filter, and to both my surprise and horror I found what I believe is the answer to my efficiency question! It looks like this thing is doing its job plus some. I would say that 79% Filter Life remaining (as shown in the app) is generous. I will be replacing the filter toot suite and update after that. In the meantime, this air purifier is worth every penny and doing a very good job, all things considered.*** I am a first time air purifier user/buyer, so I wasn’t entirely certain what to expect from this air purifier (I bought the version with the Sensor) out of the box. Out of the gate, I loved this thing. First, it was super easy to set up. It’s really lightweight, there are a couple of parts that are necessarily wrapped in plastic for shipping that must be unwrapped and replaced, then simple instructions for scanning a QR Code so you can power and control the unit from your phone. Start to finish, with pairing to my WiFi…maybe 7 minutes…? Awesome. Next…quality/air cleanliness—I purchased this purifier for my bedroom because we have two cats, so there is always some hair/dander around in between vacuuming. That said, it’s likely larger than what the room needs, but I figure you can’t go wrong if you err on the side of too much rather than too little here. As soon as the unit powers up, it “senses” how clean the air in the room is and goes to work accordingly. If the the air quality is “poor,” for instance, it will kick on to eliminate the impurities until the room’s air quality is back to “excellent.” It has display lights and ambient lighting options that can all be controlled from the app, including opacity, which are cute functions. The real draw for me, though, is this thing’s responsiveness. From time to time, I like to light a candle in my bedroom. Typically, if I light a candle that is 10-15 ft. away from where the unit sits in my bedroom, it senses that the air quality has changed and kicks on within a minute or so of having lit it. This is consistent, and something I really love about this thing! Also…the app tells you what the filter level is at (%), there are different options for running it like high-efficiency, or low, med, high, a low-noise option, etc. Overall, I don’t mind the noise this purifier puts out, but that’s just me. It’s not particularly loud; and it only runs “harder” when it’s working to eliminate pollutants from the air, which isn’t for very long in my experience. I have noticed a big difference in my sleep quality, as I don’t wake up with post-nasal drip as had been for so long and had just accepted. Thinking of buying a second one for my home office… Best purchase I’ve made in a long time. Yup, I’m officially a grown up.

Disappointed at first until I realized... the auto mode actually works.
I read all the critical reviews before purchasing this air purifier from Govee. I have purchased other products from Govee before and have liked their products so far. So, while I was concerned about the critical reviews, I was also skeptical that this product could be so bad. I decided to try it anyway. Well, at first I forgot to remove the clear bag from the air filter. 😅Then I remembered having read about that and, voila! The purifier works. But still... in auto mode, it just ran for a couple of minutes, would say my air quality was excellent and turn off. I really wanted the auto mode to work, but it wouldn't run for long no matter what I tried. I kept it on manual mode for 2 days. Then, I decided what the heck, I'll leave it on auto and see what happens. If it doesn't do much, I'll return it and order something else... and I'm glad I did. As it turns out, this purifier DOES detect air particles (especially when I'm cooking). The indicator light turns red, it roars like a mad kitten (not very loud) and removes the particles. Then it slowly goes quiet for a while and eventually stops again. The indicator light goes through the other colors during this process. I am using this air purifier inside my RV. Even without opening any windows or air vents, the food smells and other smells are usually gone in a couple of hours. I call this a success. I love that the purifier is not very large. I didn't want a tiny, less effective purifier for my RV, but I also didn't want one of those huge ones made for homes taking up all my space. This unit is very quiet and moves a lot of air. Since my RV is about 200 sq ft, I can see how it can purify the air so quicky and then go to sleep. I figure it may take longer to purify a larger space. The unit is very light weight and easy to lug around the RV if needed. I keep it under a table close to the kitchen in the center of the RV and it works well there. Using the Govee app, you can connect this air purifier to your WiFi. Then you can monitor what it's doing and even turn it on or off even while you're not at home. The app does require you to create a Govee Home account to use this feature. Now that I know the auto mode works properly, I'm actually glad it goes to sleep when it's not needed. Not only does this conserve power, it also extends the life of the air filter. Another win for Govee. Edit: After writing this review, I realized there's a toggle on the app to turn off energy savings, which is the setting that makes the air purifier shut off if it detects clean air. So, it's possible to keep the air purifier running continuously at low speed (very quiet) with this feature turned off.

Fresh and clean air: H7124
Currently we have 3 @GOVEE Air Purifiers. They are the H7126, H7129, and H7120. We have thoroughly enjoyed having these in our home. But we have a large open area up front that is a lot for these smaller air purifiers. Well recently I purchased the @GOVEE Air Purifier 2 with PM2.5 sensor, Model H7124. I actually was impressed with the look of this Air Purifier. It was smaller than I anticipated. But very well made. A nice flawless finish. Its depth is 6.3 inches, with a width of 12.4 inches and a height of 13.7 inches. The size allows it to fit nicely in a corner. It also has a nice RGB light at the bottom. Accessing the filter is crazy easy. There’s a large panel on the back that uses magnets to hold it in place. The top has a series of buttons. You can nearly fully control this device without the app if needed. Let me just say this device is crazy quiet. This device has a built in particle sensor. And connects to the Govee Air Monitors. The filter has multiple parts. Layer 1: WASHABLE PRE-FILTER This layer captures large particles like dust, lint, hair, pet fur. Layer 2: H13 TRUE HEPA FILTER This layer captures 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns in size. It also filters small particles like fine dust, smoke particles, pollen, and pet dander. Layer 3: MODIFIED HIGH EFFICIENCY ACTIVATED CARBON FILTER This layer physically absorbs smoke, odors, and fumes. It decomposes pet odors through chemical reactions. Filters harmful compounds such as VOC’s, formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide. This really seems like a fairly impressive air purifier. This device can purify the air in a 1,046 square feet room each hour. I’ve yet to test it on a cooking disaster odor but have noticed in the few days we’ve had it the air quality in our home has improved. And with it synced with the air monitors if the air gets bad it’ll ramp up the filtration speed to clean the air quickly. At an msrp of $99 I definitely recommend getting this air purifier.

Excellent Filtration Performance
I’ve been using this air purifier in a pretty big room, and honestly, it’s been great. It moves a ton of air and keeps everything feeling fresher—especially if you’ve got pets or dust floating around. The filtration is solid, it’s way quieter than I expected, and the little smart features (like auto mode and air‑quality lights) make it super easy to forget about once it’s on. If you need something that can actually handle a large space without sounding like a jet engine, this one’s a winner.

Filter will last up to 5 years!
Nice air purifier with sensor. The sensor is awesome on default light mode it turns green for good then white, yellow and red. I cook hot peppers and the sensor made it turn the red light on, in about 15 minutes it cleaned all the hot peppers out of the air. Sprayed aerosol air freshener light turned red bad air quality, so yes the sensor works, plus you can change the lighting to your liking over 1 million combinations on lighting. Durable and it also has a washable filter in front of the hepa filter that lasts for 5 years. So no replacing filters every year. Has 3 fan speed and a turbo boost fan mode. Also has date and time settings on the app, the app is easy to navigate and essy to set up.Around 2 feet tall and 18 inches wide. Has helped with my allergies, and you can tell the difference in air quality, get one for your health and your families health. Great air purifier for the money, would recommend to anyone not looking to spend 500$ on a air purifier that works hard and great quality.

Great for allergies and cooking smells, but a bit loud on high
I picked this purifier up because our allergies have been terrible this season, and honestly, I can feel the difference when I walk into the living room now. The smart features are actually more useful than I thought they'd be. It’s nice being able to check the air quality from my phone or turn it down without getting off the couch. I really like the Auto mode, it kicked into high gear immediately when I burned some toast in the kitchen, which was impressive. The only reason I’m taking off a star is the noise level. Sleep mode is barely a whisper, which is great, but if you have it on the highest fan setting, it sounds like a jet engine taking off. I also found the WiFi setup took a few tries to finally connect. Overall, it’s a solid purifier that looks nice in the room. Would recommend it if you have a larger space to cover.

Very Good Air Purifier
Works very well; has several fan speeds that it can be manually set to run at; changes fan speed automatically when set on "auto" (for example, when dusting or vacuuming in the room the air purifier is in, the fan speed automatically increases due to the increased particulates in the air until the air has cleared again, then it returns to a slower speed). It runs quietly when on low and does get louder on higher fan speeds. It has a sleep setting that is almost silent, and the light on the power button can be turned off with the sleep setting. The air intake is only on one side of the case, which technically is the back side, but I place it so it faces into the room instead of toward the wall because I think it works better this way. This air purifier has an app that can be downloaded to remotely control and monitor it, which some people may like, but I don't use the it. It has a 3 stage filter (a pre-filter for large particulates that you remove and rinse off or clean with a vacuum hose as needed, and a combined HEPA filter and charcoal filter to reduce odors that can't be cleaned, but does last quite a while unless you are using the unit in a really dirty or dusty area). The unit has an indicator light to let you know when it is time to replace the HEPA/charcoal filter. Overall, I think this air purifier has been a good investment for me to help reduce the allergens in my apartment. I purchased 2 of them, one for my living room area and one for my bedroom.

Very Quiet, Easy to use and smart features are great!
This air purifier has been working perfectly since I set it up. It blends in well with the room — not too big or bulky — and fits neatly in a corner without getting in the way. The size is just right for a bedroom or medium living space, and it doesn’t feel obtrusive at all. One of the things I really like is how low-maintenance it is. Wiping it down takes seconds, and swapping out the filter is just as simple. The filter itself lasts a long time, but it does build up a slight smell when it’s old, so it’s smart to keep a spare ready. The soft indicator light is bright enough to see at a glance but not harsh — I can leave it on all night without it bothering me. In fact, the sleep mode is whisper quiet, which makes it easy to forget it’s even running. I’ve actually noticed the air feels fresher, and I sleep better with it on. Overall, it’s a well-designed, functional, and reliable purifier. It’s easy to clean, fits well in the room, and quietly does its job without becoming a distraction. Highly recommend.
