Perfect Little Dive Light
I’m really impressed with this little ORCATORCH D560. For such a compact light, it delivers way more performance than I expected. The 650‑lumen beam is bright, clean, and perfect for night dives, low‑visibility conditions, or as a dependable backup light. One of my favorite things is how small and lightweight it is — the size is perfect for clipping onto a scuba mask, and it doesn’t get in the way at all. The included 360° rotatable mask clip makes it super easy to aim the beam exactly where you need it. The USB‑C rechargeable batteries are a huge plus. The battery life is excellent and having long‑lasting power in such a tiny light makes it even more useful. I also love the blue color, which looks great and stands out in my gear bag. Despite its size, the light feels solid and well‑built. The powerful lumen output, easy twist‑on switch, and 150m waterproof rating give me confidence using it on deeper dives. And for the price, it’s honestly an amazing value.

Nice little light with some points to consider.
I received this light about a month ago. In all honesty, I was provided it by the mfg to review with the understanding that unlike scuba magazine reviews that are nothing but regurgitated ad copy, I would be completely honest. The Orcatorch D560 is a small light designed to be mounted on a mask strap with the included clip. It lists two lumen settings depending on the battery used. Either a standard AA or the more expensive SAFT AA. With a standard AA it is pretty bright. I don't have any scientific way to check the lumens but for it's intent as a back up mask light it is more than sufficient. With the SAFT battery this thing is nearly bright enough to be used as a primary. However in my area the SAFT batteries are $11 each. Standard AA is kind of a misnomer because a AA Energizer is not the same as a Eneloop AA or generic AA. There are noticeable differences in brightness. The Eneloop is better than the energizer but not as bright as the SAFT. The beam angle is acceptable for signaling and has a nice hot spot as well as an acceptable amount of spillover. The light itself is very nice and the size is good for a mask strap light or with the appropriate mods to it, mounted on a helmet for cave and wreck diving. The only somewhat negative feature is the mount and it's not that bad and is easily fixed. The mount slips over the mask strap as seen in the photo. At first it was secure in the pool and on a couple of quarry dives. It was on some cooler water wreck dives from a boat where I had an issue. I had already added a piece of cave line from the light to the mask just because I was unsure of the ability of the o ring clip to hold the light. That actually worked fine for a while. The problem came when diving from the boat on a hot day and the plastic clip seemed to soften up and a giant stride into the water dislodged the entire light clip. The height of the drop was roughly 3 feet plus it being on my head subjected it to an impact from say 8 feet into the water. Had I not added that line the light would be at the bottom of the St Lawrence river. Looking at the clip, I realized the issue and solved it by adding two zip ties as seen in the photo. A small redesign of the clip to include the zip ties would allow this to be placed securely on any mask strap and not be lost. The next issue occurred a week later on a different set of dives when the provided o ring broke. It appears the o ring is of something like 70 duro and those are not that robust. I replaced it with a stiffer 90 duro one. The good thing about the clip is that unlike other ones that simply hold the light in one position, this one rotates and actually clicks into several positions so it's not flopping around. Highly beneficial when needing to look at your teammate and you don't have to turn it off to avoid blinding them. It's also nice to be able to point it down to illuminate below you when doing something like a search. Less movement of the primary is required. I do like this light. The clip issues are easily solved and I understand that redesigning the clip and making new molds would not likely be economically sensible so the simple DIY fixes are acceptable to me. Acceptable enough that I am actually highly likely to buy another for my wreck helmet.

Very well made, and waterproof
I am a caver and spent alot of time in wet, muddy caves. Orcatorch is a company that I had never heard of but I found they have a large assortment of high quality scuba diving lights. Caving is a bit different, but I wanted to check out one of their lights to review for my caving club and also to hopefully provide some constructive feedback to Orcatorch. I hope they follow up and make some high quality lights for caving in the future. The D560 light arrived within 2 days thanks to Amazon Prime shipping and I opened it up to take a look. It has a double set of O rings to fully seal the battery compartment. ( I have never seen this in a light before, but this is the first light I have ever used that is rated to 150m under water). In caving we rarely go more than a foot below water surface, but we do frequently climb rope and rappel in waterfalls, so the extremely strong water proof seal is a great feature. The light is very small, lightweight but extremely bright when powered with a rechargeable 14500 lithium ion battery. It also works with a single AA battery which is very convenient, but at a lower light output level. In the sport of caving, many of our trips last 3-10 hours, so the short run time on this light is a downside.. It would have been nice if the light had several different operating levels, so that it could be used for a longer time, at a lower light level. It does serve as a nice hand-light to keep as a spare or to use when taking photos and you need to light up a large area. I think that would be its biggest use in caving. I really do hope to see more products from Orcatorch optimized for the sport of caving in the future.

Great & very powerful small light
This is the Orcatorch mask light. Let me start with the customer service, Orcatorch customer service is the best I have ever dealt with! The representatives are very easy to contact, which includes via text message. Any questions were answered in a very timely manner any time of the day! The company is very accomodating and has a great selection of dive lights! The Orcatorch mask light was shipped very quickly and arrived as described. All the necessary mounting hardware was included with descriptive directions for setup and use. It included extra o-rings which is great to for easy upkeep. Two AA batteries were included which was very convenient especially because the light only requires 1 AA battery. There is also the option to use a lithium ion batterry to increase the brightness. I tried both batteries, the AA battery worked very well and produced excellent lighting. The attached photos are with the AA battery. The photos are from a dark quarry and this little powerful light did a wonderful job illuminating the dark water. This light was powerful enough that I switched it from my mask to a hand light, which was very simple to do. The operation of the light was very simple, twisting on and off. The construction is very durable and it is capable to withstand deep dives. I also switched the AA battery to a lithium ion battery which produced a brighter light which was very impressive. I will defintely be adding this light to my deep wreck and cave dives. The battery life is great using either battery type. I am defintely very impressed with this light and the company that produces it! I highly recomend this light to anyone from beginers to highly experienced divers! With how well this light worked, I am planning on purchasing more lights from them! The prices are very reasonable for such quality lights. I am also highly recommending this light to all my diving friends!

Need a go to utility light for diving? The D560 is your light...
I just picked up the Orcatorch D560 light -as a utility device to supplement my primary light for recreational purposes. I have 2 other Orcatorch products -and full disclosure - i'm a professional instructor. I am tough on my equipment and tough to impress. From a few weekends of diving with this light -I am pretty impressed with what you get: 1) Size - this thing is 1/2 the size of anything out on the market. In my pictures - i compared it to a Big Blue Al450 and a Big Blue pen light. Both are larger, heavier, and offer no better light performance than the D560. The size / weight footprint of the D560 amazing - small and powerful 2) Brightness - this utility light puts out a LOT of power on the spot you point it. For a little light -it's got a lot of performance 3) Battery - it's a simple AA battery- nothing hard to find or replace 4) Packaging -it's got the light, extras like O-rings, and a mask clip - all included 5) Mask Option - I LOVE the idea of mounting this to my mask. Truth be told - I have never found a great solution for a mask light. I look with my eyes - not my head underwater. BUT it does fulfill the task. I thing the clip could use an upgrade - I did accidentally knock it off my mask strap on one dive - could be me - could be how well I clipped it - but the light stayed in the cradle - it is secured by a nice tight O-ring. 6) Utility light option - I dove again with this on a lanyard - and boy is this thing handy - out of the way size- and dangling off my wrist - super helpful. I probably would dive this regularly as a utility light on a lanyard before the mask mounting ongoing. I personally think everyone needs an out of the way utility light - just as a backup - at a minimum. I would definitely recommend the D560. Please watch my entire review video for some hands on - and thoughts.

Review Upgraded after several uses...
...but my first impressions were mostly favorable. Arrived quickly, no issues, no drama. Apparently good build quality, came boxed with all needed items, including two batteries and extra o-rings for both the light head and the mounting clamp (to a mask strap). There was a bundle of cable ties to insure the light stayed on the clamp/mask strap...uncl ear how necessary these are. Brightness is one level only, and pretty bright; I may not like this, as I wanted it to illuminate my hands and camera on night dives. Battery life with alkaline AA batteries is rated as one hour, more or less. That is OK for a single occasional night dive, but not for general use. I will update this review after I get a chance to use it on a dive, especially a night dive. Additional Comments after more use. I've used the light now on two volunteer aquarium dives, one regreational night dive, and one day dive. The strap camp works OK, but never feels quite secure. I do like the variable angle the clamp permits. I did not use the included cable ties...just the single O-ring. While on the maks strip, turing it on or off is a two-handed operation, which is a bother if one of your hands is busy (like with a camera). A button sure would be nice! Because of the limited battery capacity, leaving it on for an entire dive (while not needed) is not tempting. The light is plenty bright for most night purposes in decent-viz water, perhaps even too bright for some of the critters. It worked OK angled down toward my camera but was too bright for what I needed. On the day dive, the light was not bright enough for most peeking-under-ledges and into holes. Bottom line after use: I'm upgrading the review to 5 stars because my dislikes are due to my diving needs...the light itself is not at fault. Its best use is probably NOT as a mask-mounted light nor as a primary, but as a small, reliable backup light to get you safely out of the water when things go wrong. It is not expensive, and it would be there when you need it. That is a good use-case; my use-case was too demanding for this light. Bottom Bottom line: Good value light, simple, bright enough, reliable.

Nice backup light to have
Love this little dive light, and that it comes in red. Everyone elses is black. This is a perfect backup light to have. I keep it on and let it dangle below me as a sort of signal light. When we go out at night, there is often a few of us, so having this and my signal light on the back of my tank helps my buddy keep an eye out for me. I like the way it easily turns on with a twist. I am going to try it attached to my mask next, great little feature

OrcaTorch D560 Review
Overview: I wanted a tiny backup light that I could use on vacation or keep in my dry-suit pocket here at home as a backup to my backup light. The D560 rated 630 lumens on a flashlight that's only 9cm long had me intrigued. I did some cold water dives in Puget Sound as well as a week diving off Isle Cozumel in Mexico. So how did the D560 do? In the case: It with spare o-rings, two aaa batteries, zip ties, a Mask strap mount, a lanyard, a user manual, and a warranty card. Build and design: It’s built tough. The overall quality feels durable and solid in hand. The threading screws together with ease. It came with lubricated double o-rings that should help keep it watertight at depth. It feels very much like a scaled-down D550. I did not baby this light and just threw it in my dive bag when done. There is no visible wear on my sample after 15 dives. Depth Rated 150m IXP-8 Size: 9cm Net Weight: 47.5 grams without battery Power: It’s powered by a single AAA battery or 14500 rechargeable lithium battery. * Beam Distance (Land): AA Battery 240' (73m), Lithium-Ion 390' (119m) * Working Voltage: 0.8 to 4.2 The D560 uses a Cree XM-L2(U4) LED that can put out 630 lumens output with a 14500 battery. It has 3520 Candela and runs at 5000-Degree Kelvin Eggshell reflector for a defused 12-degree spot. Max Runtime: * Using a single 700 mAh Lithium-Ion 14500 Battery you get 630 Lumens for 60-Minutes (14500 batteries are available to 1150mAh) I chose to use a Vapcell H10 14500 Purple/White 10A Button Top 1000mAh Battery * Using a single AA Alkaline Battery you get 180 Lumens for 85-Minutes Simple: The light is intuitive and easy to use. Simply twist on and off. From off, a one-quarter turn of the switch will activate the light. Attachment points: There is a single attachment point on the tail of the light. The Orcatorch MX05 mask mount is included. The mount can rotate 360°. You can use the provided lanyard or in my case, a 316SS Boltsnap secured with #24 cave line. The Boltsnap was not included with the D560 but Orcatorch does offer one for purchase separately called the SH02 Boltsnap Hook. Finish: The finish shows little wear after multiple dives. Constructed from high-strength A6061-T6 aluminum. It has a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized finish for durability and corrosion resistance. I found it to be very tough. Final Thoughts: Pros: -Bright and sustainable output. -No so bright that you are blinding the marine life. -Good color spectrum for underwater use. -Solid build quality. -Good Size. It’s tiny -Very lightweight. -Twist On/Off for easy use. -The rotary head switch offers high reliability underwater. I much prefer the twist over a button style. -Includes one aaa battery -Adds safety to any dive -150m rated depth makes this usable to technical and recreational divers. -Good value -Light is offered in three color options -Excellent backup light. -Nice that you can use a standard alkaline battery found worldwide if needed. -AA battery cuts the lumens significantly. -Perfect for travel -Can be used on land or sea -It’s the little light that could. It has earned a spot in my dive kit. Con’s: •An included rechargeable 14500 battery should be included. The light is significantly brighter with the rechargeable battery versus the AA. -I did not use the mask attachment as it does not lend itself to my diving. -Low runtime means it will need recharging or fresh cells for almost every dive. Best to have multiple batteries to swap as needed. -Only one brightness setting -Spot angle at 12 degrees is wider than I like. I prefer a tighter 7-8 degree non-diffused spot.

RED advertised torch is actually PINK
Probably a decent torch, but when opening the package, its more pink than red. Had to send it back.

Flooded on first dive
I wanted a small back up torch as I typically use my video lighting during dive. Terrible design. Torch flooded on the first pier dive at about 6m. When I got home I realised ther was rust forming on the edges already. There's salt residue inside the LED so there is no way to dry it. The torch worked (once!) and the brightness was ok but what a waste of money.

Nice backup
Nice backup for spearfishing in dark. The attachment parts are kind of joke. Atleast the ziplocks work so USE them otherwise you might lose the light.
