The LSAT Trainer includes: More than 160 official LSAT questions and solutions Simple, battle-tested strategies for every type of Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension question Access to a broad range of study tools, including practice schedules, notebook organizers, helpful charts and tables, and much more Review: Encouraging, Clear, and Great for Independent LSAT Study - This book is an excellent resource for anyone preparing for the LSAT on their own. The explanations are clear and approachable, and the tone is motivating rather than intimidating. I appreciate how the author emphasizes understanding patterns and logic rather than rote memorization. It feels thoughtfully structured and easy to follow, especially for self-driven learners. Itโs a great complement to other LSAT materials and helped me feel more confident in my approach to studying. I had been using online resources but it was nice to have something tangible. Improved my score by multiple points! Review: If you only want to splurge for only one study support this is it - I haven't taken my official LSAT yet, but this book has been amazing at building skills. I went from a diagnostic of 153 to consistently only getting a one or two problems wrong on drills and practice test scores in the upper 160s and haven't even finished the whole book yet. The writing of the book is personable and has little quips that breaks up intense studying nicely. I really loved how the methodology for LR was laid out to learn, with the basis not being on question types but building overall habits that help on any question. It really helped me visualize what I needed to be doing and focusing on. I also really like how having the chapters of the book made my studying feel much more organized, rather than being spread thin over a lot of resources I was able to focus on one or two chapters a study session and do problem drills along side it. I also found that the set up of explanation to drills really works for me. A ton information consumed means nothing without practice problems and reflection, so having the drills with concise in depth explanations after each chapter or multiple during the chapter is amazing. USE IT FULLY, don't skip its drills, and be sure to consistently work on question drills outside of the book as well through your preferred drill website like law hub, 7sage, or LSAT Demon. This together is one of the best prep methods I have found. I haven't used any other resources to study besides this and law hub. I'm am finding I'm progressing to where I want to be quickly. If you're looking to spend money on only one or two prepping tools like I was, I cannot recommend this book enough. It is so worth the money

Really, really, really thankful I stumbled upon this. It's perfect...
Okay, I haven't taken the LSAT yet, so my rating is not about the book's impact on my score. I'm just starting studying (or have been for the past month or so) and have been looking at all of the available prep material: in person classes, online classes, books, tutors, apps, schools, etc., etc. It was getting really overwhelming and I was starting to panic, because I didn't have a single, clear study plan that I felt comfortable committing to. I was using a hodgepodge of this and that and I knew if I didn't find a plan and stick to it, I'd have holes in my understanding of the test. I was literally just about to sign up with this $750 personalized LSAT online mentor/tutor/class and whatever all else it was, when I stumbled upon this book. I read some of the reviews that were good and they were impressive, but I read the bad ones that said "He didn't explain why the answer was bad, he just said it wasn't a good answer". I didn't really know what to think. So, I did my research, went to his website, watched some of his videos, browsed his online student resources and realized that this guy knows what he is talking about. He has created a very organized, thorough method to prepare students to succeed on the LSAT and really the only thing you have to do is be a competent, disciplined person who is willing to work hard through his curriculum. Anyway, his method speaks to me. I just get him. He does have times where he says "It's just not the right answer", but it's not in a section where he's teaching you why such-and-such is right and such-and-such is wrong. It's in a section where he's explicitly stated he is modeling the rapid internal thought process of a high scoring student, so that you can get a picture of what you're working towards. I get his method and totally agree. How can you work through these difficult problems quickly and accurately, like a high-scoring student, if you don't even know what it's truly like to think like that? I think it's a great way to make it concrete and help students formulate a goal. So, anyway, I love his teaching style, organization, voice (like he's talking to you) and most importantly, he's the real deal. He's not out there to make money and sell fluff. He's about training your brain to think. Not trying to identify the question type, then going back into your head and trying to remember what you know about this question type, etc. etc. That's such a waste of time and energy and it's anxiety provoking. This guy says drop all of that, let's practice together, learn some strategies, repeat, so these processes become habits and you can just instinctively begin to attack the problems yourself. It's simplistic and practical. I am so glad I found it JUST in time, like down to the day, to use the 12 week prep plan. Thanks to Mike Kim for this book! It's perfect for me.

Great macro introduction to the LSAT but not a one-stop study book
Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer is a great resource for anyone seeking a macro view of the LSAT's logic reasoning and reading comprehension sections as well as solid introductory techniques to diagramming and conquering logic games. The book does a good job at setting the scene for what to look for in questions and the types of skills and habits necessary to do well on the exam. The book also has nice drill sets and reinforcement excercises after each lesson to practice what you have learned which is a great confidence booster. LSAT Trainer is conversational in tone, well organized, aesthetically pleasing, and gently eases you into intense study prep. This book, however, is by NO-MEANS a "one-stop study this book and you'll kill the LSAT" prep book. I will say it is a necessary introduction and supplement to other micro, detailed, and straightforward LSAT study systems like PowerScore. This book builds confidence and reinforcement through drills, easy-to-follow detailed lessons, and puts you in the mindset of what to look for and how to think, that's it. I just finished working with the LSAT Trainer book today after 5 weeks of intense study with this book and it has helped my skill-set a little bit but I am nowhere near where I need to be in order to be a top scorer for the October LSAT. I am now moving on to PowerScore's system which is an in-depth, straightforward, micro view of the LSAT. As someone who knew about the LSAT and it's sections but was not ready to dive in completely into techniques and strategies but instead sought to build confidence, an LSAT mindset, and an overall big-picture view of the exam first, I went with LSAT Trainer. Now that I have achieved this goal, I am ready to dive head-first into in-depth solidifying LSAT study with PowerScore. If this is you, and you need help grasping the macro view of the LSAT, seek reassurance with what you are about to get into, and don't know where to begin with your LSAT study, go with LSAT Trainer. Mike's website also offers free study schedules and timelines that help organize your study week-by-week and included lesson specific LSAT exam question drills after each lesson, in the schedule, to practice with newer exams. Overall, this book is a solid introduction and ease into the LSAT and I recommend it, but it is no way a one-stop shop for conquering the LSAT.

The only study guide you'll need.
Fantastic resource!! This book is a holistic approach to every type of question on the LSAT. The author only uses questions that were previously on actual exams and provides a detailed process for how to approach the question, why the right answer is right, and each wrong answer is wrong. Worth the money.

Best $ spent on my LSAT prep
This is absolutely the best book you can buy to study for the LSAT. A little background on me: I went through all 3 Powerscore bibles, a $1,500 Testmasters course, Manhattan RC, Ace the LSAT:logic games, Benchprep LSAT course, and other various online articles. All this (+ hard work) allowed me to raise my LSAT from a 149 to a 163 (June 2013)after 8 months of study. Due to my career goals, I knew a 163 would not cut it. However, after 8 months of study (9 hour days) I was reaching my mental limit. I knew I had to redefine my studying habits. A friend on TLS recommended the Trainer for me, saying it was the best book that he has come across. After doing some research, I decided to bet my LSAT score on this book and Mike Kim's timeline. After 2 months of study reading the Trainer cover to cover twice, doing 10 practice test with the blind review method, and doing 4 Logic games a day I was able to walk away this October with a 167. This score with my GPA will most likely enable me to reach my law school goals. Why is this book so great? Let me tell you 1. The content in the book is similar to what a private tutor or course instructor will tell you. In book form, you are able to go over the info again and again and really take it to heart. The info I got from paying over $1000 for a course is all included in the book and then some! 2. This book is deep. The bibles go over the basics of what you need to know, in what seems like bullet point form. However, the Trainer not only explains it more deeply, but makes it simple for you to understand. The book is not concerned with "what" you need to know, but rather "why" you need to know it. Thinking this way helped me out alot. 3. Written by a master. Mike talks alot about "Training your elephant" so you the rider, doesn't have to work that hard when you are actually taking the test. This was kinda beyond me at the time, but by going through the book twice and achieving a high level of proficiency for the test, I totally get what he means. This kind of insight can only be granted by someone who has been in the field of test prep and the LSAT for many years. Therefore, the way Mike structures the book is conducive to the brain for really nailing things down in the subconscious. 4. That leads to the last point: Quality. You can really gather a sense of how much time Mike has put into the book by all the "nuggets" you find. By nuggets, I mean things worth Highlighting/taking note of. The biggest fault of the book are the typos and errors that come up every 75 pages or so. They are a tad bit distracting and I actually wasted a bunch of time trying to figure out if an answer was a typo or I was just crazy. However, I have heard that this was because I got an early edition of the book and newer editions have the errors fixed. All in all, Mike says "The secret to success is to deserve it" start by getting this book. I promise, the $50 or so will be the best you spend during your LSAT prep. **This book is meant to be done in conjunction with 10 practice tests and doing so will best enable you to apply what you are learning and raise your score

Want to conquer the LSAT? Get this book!
I have been through a number of LSAT materials including that of material from Manhattan LSAT, BlueprintPrep, Princeton Review, Kaplan and Top-Law-Schools.com (TLS) guides as I prepare for my study of the LSAT examination, the most crucial component of law school admissions. I was set on utilizing the material of both Manhattan and Blueprint for my prep but realized I needed to tie some loose ends to effectively master the LSAT. This is how I came across Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer and it has been my best purchase to date! I jumped on the opportunity to purchase this book as I first met Mike Kim as my MLSAT online instructor back in 2011. He was a wonderful teacher and figured his book would reflect same and it did! The LSAT Trainer, unlike so many other materials out there, gets straight to the "meat" of mastering the LSAT. It effectively fleshes out each type of LR question and game type, offering bullet point summaries of how to effectively approach each component of the exam and thorough drills in each chapter to help hone in on what you learn. The LSAT Trainer challenges you and leaves little room for laziness. It is worth its weight in gold and has helped me considerably in how I approach each question type, game type and reading comprehension passage. Without a doubt this book is necessary for any and all LSAT students, whether you are self-studying or taking a course. This book is also great as a supplement to an LSAT course but in my humblest opinion, is all you will need to get the job done if you want to learn how to think like the makers of the LSAT. Thanks Mike Kim for creating this guide. It has helped me realize that this test is conquerable with a little hard work and diligent training ! Through your book I have been able to increase my score by 5 points in as little as one month. This is coming from someone who started out at a 139, was plateauing around a 155-159 after taking a course and am now in the 165 range. With a little under 3 months to go, I am confident your guide will help get me closer to my goal of 170+!

Great Guide
I decided to study the LSAT by myself, and this book has been an essential part of the process. Mike delivers the information in such a readable manner that chapters fly by when you study with this book (unless you get stuck on a drill!). Highly recommend it for anyone who is preparing for an LSAT.

Effective, Self-Guided LSAT Study Resource for Independent Learners
I bought The LSAT Trainer: A Remarkable Self-Study Guide For The Self-Driven Student for my daughter who is in university, and it has been a very helpful resource for her LSAT preparation. The explanations are clear and structured in a way that makes complex concepts easier to understand, especially for someone studying independently. It focuses on building real test skills rather than just memorization, which has made her study sessions more productive and focused. Overall, it is a solid and practical guide for anyone serious about self-study and preparing for the LSAT.
