Gravity : desertcart.co.uk: Everything Else Review: Engrossing, technically brilliant, slightly OTT - I watched this on my 3D projector last night for the first time, and I was blown away immediately by how good it looks and sounds, and stayed that way until the credits rolled. This is the all-time best demo film to show off your AV system's 3D, picture and audio. Dredd and Pacific Rim come a close second and third. As for the story, its a bit far fetched, but don't let it dissuade you from buying, The moment to moment beauty of the Earth and space, and the chaos of all the worlds satelites exploding will keep you glued to the screen waiting to see what happens next. This film is so well made I found myself being drawn in and feeling genuinely nervous and surprised in parts. Part of this is due to the perfect 3D implementation, it really drives home the claustrophobic feeling of the interiors, and the endless expanse of space, without any cheap gags or "in your face" effects. The convincing zero or "micro" gravity and CGI are so well done that you instantly forget you are watching an effects film and focus purely on the action on screen. A special mention should be made regarding the sound design, everything sounds like it should out in space and gives a real sense of place, With no OTT scoring you are allowed to listen to and appreciate the subtlety of every sound, deep silence and roaring explosions. If you are even slightly interested in 3D films, or just want to see a dramatic thrill ride you seriously must add this to your wanted list. Review: Excellent product - As a 3D DVD it is fantastic. Why did 3D not take off, it adds so much to a movie?

No way this is should be a 3.5 average star rating on Amazon- It is one of the best out there
Just received my impressive steel tin version of Gravity 3D and whacked it straight in. Yep amazing picture and the best 3D I have seen since Tron Legacy and Avatar. I appreciate this film is a true cinematic experience and the best way of watching it is on the biggest 3D screen possible but there is plenty to enjoy for the home viewer as well. I don't understand why people are saying the plot is thin or the script is weak...Some of the best literature and cinema takes a simple concept and use it as allegory. i.e. Bullock's Characters finding hope in adversity, the human spirit's ability to survive, is there even something akin to 2001 going on there? I don't need characters monologuing for hours on end like most modern blockbusters these days and it is good to see a nice taut script at work. The effects are best out there, Bullock turns in a great performance (never thought I would type those words!!) and if you are not moved, shaken, traumatised, excited, and ultimately uplifted by this film than maybe you should not go to the cinema on your Night nurse cocktail. Best Film of 2013 if not the decade and finally restored my faith in cinema after much disappointment in the last 2 years. Believe the critics, oscars and hype for once.

Stunning Visuals
I pre-ordered Gravity for release day, and unfortunately Amazon didn't get it to me on time as they stated which is why i have given the product 4 stars. Well the film its self is truly a brilliant visual experience that makes the most out of 3D. The first 5 minutes really get you hooked and then before you know it the film is over. I haven't seen a movie like it and its refreshing to watch something a little different. The way the movie is filmed is amazing and seeing earth like that really makes it a jaw dropping experience. I would recommend this film to any movie fan regardless of preference it really is worth a watch. I wont mention much on the story as its quite short and i wouldn't want to give anything away, best advice grab a copy and experience this mind blowing movie for yourself.

Overhyped? Maybe.
Finally got around to watching this one recently as was never sure if it would appeal to me, and I have to say I have mixed feelings. I do think it is overhyped, but at the same time it is a decent film. The premise is original, and thankfully they picked two actors good enough to hold a film up on their own (although it does lose something half way through .. no spoilers). I watched it in 3D, and both the special effects and the 3D are awesome, no doubt. Where is does fall apart for me is the ridiculousness of it. Cannot say too much without containing spoilers (I know it is something like 5 years old as I type this, but there are still people out there like me who have never seen it up til now), but while concept is great with the stranded characters trying to find their way home, the sillyness of how they go about it does make me cringe at times. You have a veteran (Clooney) and a first timer (Bulloch) and while you can kinda accept the veteran could some how manage this, it does become a bit ridiculous when the newbie who is scared and admits to have only ever crashed the simulator everytime she used it, is suddenly just as good as the veteran. And do not even get me started on the "hallucination" scene. Over all, a decent film, but nowhere near as great as some people would make it out.

I got it at a great discount from Amazon, so I'm not really upset about the packaging issues (not really a steelbook but a metal pack, and the terrible stickering job all over the box). Gravity in 3D is well mastered, and is now my 3D demo disc of choice. The 2D version is great when you have more viewers than 3D glasses, and it packs in a good number of extras as well, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. I would count this as a complete experience at a price that's totally worth it.
