This little grammar book helps me every day at work. I was terrible in English as a child and as a young adult, this book has helped me tremendously!

One day in my classroom, my professor mentioned that she had lended her grammar blue book to a student and that she never got it back. So, she inspired me to get this book by the way she talked about it. Now that I have it, I am really glad that it is indeed a great book to use when writing any assignment. It is clear, and user friendly for anyone who might have difficulty with confusing and/or similar sounding words, "who" and "whom", etc. . I recommend this great Blue Book to everybody!

I love this book! It is so easy to look up rules - particularly those that can be confusing. Includes word usage and explains common errors. It is thorough and easy to understand. I have several books on grammar and this is the easiest to use as a handbook or resource, but it is also a format that you could easily work through it page by page to learn and master the rules (complete with a mastery test to check your understanding). If you are weak in this area or you just want to hone your skills, this book will make you a grammarian in no time!

I bought this book to help my grandson improve his grammar and writing skills. The content of the book is easy to read and explains rules and reasons in a way that is very easy to understand. I am glad I chose this book. I would recommend that high schools across the nation have copies of this book available in classrooms and libraries and encourage students to use it.

This book was recommended by my instructor and has proven itself over and over again. Not sure about compound modifiers? Want to make sure you are using a hyphen correctly? Been too long since you had to think about an adjective? This is the reference book you need. It is well organized and moves and builds from one subject to the other in an orderly sequence. I have purchased copies of this for my kids to use in their schoolwork and correspondence, as well as my own. Well worth the money.

Having spent my early years dodging as many English Grammar courses and tests (both in High School and College)as I could, I found myself for many years in the workplace wondering if a comma goes here or a colon goes there. This book has answered all those questions for me, and in such an easy way to access the information! I'd recommend this book be kept in the desk of anyone who works in a business environment. Just whip it out when you're stuck, and the answers are at your fingertips. It also provides Quizzes to test how well you've learned each subject. GREAT BOOK!

It seemed like this book was going to be amazing, so I was excited when I got it. I teach a class in basic skills so this book would be perfect. I immediately opened it up and started reading. The first thing I noticed? It's available FREE online. So why did I bother buying the book? Secondly, the organization of the book is lacking. It is structured by chapters, but within each chapter all it is is a list of rules and examples. The quizzes are at the back of the book only. I think it would be better to put a quiz after each section of rules. Thirdly, the quizzes are all one after another so when you make copies you have to cut them apart or you will get parts of quizzes on the page as the one you want the students to take. It is not organized well for use in a class at all. That said, the content itself is really good. The rules are clear and the examples are the best I've seen. I just wish it was better organized!

Grammar, and punctuation exercises, easy to understand information, I purchased this item to help with taking meeting minutes and not be so redundant in the information. Great examples and I love the size of the book 8.5 x 11, easy to read, easy to handle and carry in a brief case. I hope it will be as helpful to you as it has been to me. A great refresher course for everyone who writes correspondence, meeting minutes and of course emails should own one.

This is a "must have" book for anyone serious about grammar.

This is brilliant to find everything out about grammar, it is very good. Quizes and ideas abound, it is a very good teaching resource.

I bought the blue book to learn the rules that govern punctuation. The blue book provides a comprehensive chapter on the subject. It helps me become a better writer and I am thankful for that. I think that chapter two takes away from the book, unless it is strickly intended for people who are learning English as a second language. If that is the case,then the book aims at all levels of learning and that is a good thing. In my opinion, people buy this book as a resource and a tool to improve their writing skills in creative writing. If people don't even know the basics of english grammar, in what it's most elementary (when to use a or an), they won't buy this book in the first place. But then, I might be wrong! We all need to start somewhere and in that context, chapter two does have a purpose. Congratulations to the author for caring enough to write the blue book.

The Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation is a great grammar guide. Ms. Straus, the author, has done something very helpful with this book. The book is easy to understand. Ms. Straus explains everything very clearly. A wonderful book! Great thanks to the author!

Great book, handy reference, makes things easy to understand and follow. Too bad it isn't used in high schools so kids can learn properly first time around, instead of trying to fix mistakes later.
