I purchased them in mid-April 2024, and upon checking, they were manufactured on February 23, 2024. Despite being a couple of months old, I find them to be in excellent condition. With an expiration date of February 2026, they appear to have a decent shelf life ahead. Having been a dedicated consumer of illy coffee for about two decades, I was eager to try out their E.S.E. pods. While I have long used illy's iperespresso capsules, I've become increasingly mindful of the environmental impact of plastic pods. Therefore, I was pleased to discover that the E.S.E. pods offer a more eco-friendly alternative. I purchased the new espresso machine from illy that can brew ground coffee and these E.S.E. pods. As someone who values both convenience and quality, I must say, they have exceeded my expectations. The Intenso Dark Roast, in particular, provides a strong and full-bodied flavor that I thoroughly enjoy, making it an ideal choice for my morning coffee fix. I highly recommend illy's E.S.E. pods to fellow coffee enthusiasts looking for a convenient and environmentally conscious brewing option.

Love this brand. Rich, bold flavor, not bitter.

This produces a rich, flavorful espresso shot that gives a nice extra punch to a latte or cappuccino. However, my Delonghi Dedica EC680 couldn't reliably produce a full shot of espresso with these pods*, and I suspect it's because they are very tightly packed. The machine would throw up an error indicator about halfway through, if I was lucky. Other brands of espresso pods appear to work just fine in my machine, but to be fair I haven't tried the "bold" flavors of these other brands, which may cause similar issues. Great flavor and a good product, but it unfortunately didn't work for me. *Yes, I am using the ESE Pod basket from Delonghi.

Perfect fit for the Francis Francis ese type espresso machines. This dark roast is wonderful!

The grinds seep through the paper. Cup is full of grinds. Buy if you like drinking grinds.

I use these ESE pods with a Braville Espresso machine with ESE insert. I most like the packaging- the envelope is large enough where the tab is not caught on the edge seal like most other brands. The flavor is intense espresso which I wanted to make different drinks. Each pod will make up to 2oz before overprocessing and loosing it strength. I like 1.5oz cup for each. The head is perfect each time. I just ordered more.

These pods are perfect to make a cup of expresso. There is no mess since they come as a pre measured pod. The taste of the expresso is surprisingly good.

Obviously you need a machine that can use these ESE coffee pods, but if you have I recommend giving them a try. I think they taste great.
