Best ratchets I own
As a mechanic the gearwrench 120xp ratchets are my go to ratchet. I love using them everyday. The soft grip is easy on my hands . The slim head of the ratchet fits into spots my regular ratchets don't. They have a very long handle that helps me break tough bolts loose.

Nice ratchet, but not for the price
First, I'm being a little picky because at the time of this review it's a $52 ratchet. There are similar ratchets in this class for half a much. The good: Finish of all surfaces are nice and polished. No sharp edges and the chrome is smooth handle is small but has a good fit on your hand Ratchet has his tooth engagement and smooth operation. Pivoting head has stiff and positive retention. The bad: There is a good amount of flex in the pivot joint side to side. At this piece point I'd expect tight tolerances. This potentially reduces the strength at that joint and I expect that to be the failure when it occurs. The ratchet has no "flat" position. The closest you get is a small angle that translates to shy of an inch at the end of the handle. I mainly use 1/4" for tight places and this cancels that out. For open areas with no space constrains it won't matter. Overall it's a good ratchet, and if they work out the design flaws I'd happily pay the asking price. Or, accept it as-is of the price point was ~$30

Better than Snap On
Better than snap on. Me and my buddy used our 1/4 ratchets to see which one broke first his snap on broke gearwrench won that battle. Iโll buy snap on sockets but not their ratchets

Beautiful Wrench for a Price
This is a really fantastic wrench. It is only 1/4" drive but you can be sure that I'll be using my smaller set of sockets any time I can. The action of the ratchet is smooth, quiet, and feels fantastic. I've never had a ratchet with a flex head before and now I don't think I'll ever want anything different. I have a little bit of bigger hands and I love the idea that I can just bend the handle farther away instead of banging my knuckles. This is particularly useful with the smaller sockets. I also love being able to flip the wrench at 90ยบ and spin it around at the start of tightening something. I also like the rubberized handle which mostly just looks cool but has a really nice feel to it. Overall, I'm very happy with the "GEARWRENCH 1/4" Drive 120XP Dual Material Handle Flex Head Teardrop Ratchet | 81009XP".

Can You Fall in Love With a Ratchet?
I am smitten by this ratchet. My whole life I have used "fine" craftsman ratchets from random toolsets, or even cheaper ratchets from unknown sources. This is my first good one, and it has ruined me. The smooth precision this affords you is so much better than what I now know I was fighting with before. I'm still trying to get used to the pivot head on it, but I absolutely see why people like these things, however I can also see why people like the locking heads, and why they still buy standard ratchets too. The 120 (effective) tooth ratcheting mechanism is to die for. I think this especially shines in 1/4" where the fasteners are smaller and have less drag. The mechanism in this allows for such fine movements. In tight places I think this would be super valuable. The only down side is that I'm going to want to either use this 1/4" for everything or I'm going to really want to buy more GearWrench ratchets soon. I already added a good handful to my wish lists.

cute
I had no idea what size 1/4th meant. It's tiny. It's just a bit longer than your hand. I LOVE gearwrench. My entire tool set I've been building for 4+ years now is Gearwrench. I also have a TON of rachets by them. What I like about this one is it has 120 positions which means just a little bit of movement will cause some progress if you happen to have a bolt that you can barely reach or turn. For me it's (6) bolts holding the bumper on to my truck. In addition, it also has a tilt head so you can get weird angles or confined spaces. It is a bit too long for my application but I'll find a use for it. I need one that is the same but quite a bit shorter. Cons =handle is too short to fit your hand. Depending on your hand size you can only fit about 3 fingers.

Nice ratchet, but didn't hold up well
It's a really nice ratchet. Very compact head, fine tooth. It's got a nice long handle. But it completely jammed up within the first week. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and have to take it apart 3 times so far becuase the pawls somehow end up moving independantly of each other and it completely binds up and won't ratchet at all. I work away so I have no choice but to keep dealing with it for now. When I'm home I'll try to warranty it. I'm not sure if I just got a bad one, or if this is what they're like. I'm using it professionally, but never abused it. I wasn't breaking a bolt free any of the times it jammed either.
