TCL 55” QLED 4K TV is hands down the best bang for the buck
This TCL 55” QLED 4K TV is hands down the best bang for the buck if you’re shopping for a new television and don’t want to overpay just for a brand name like Sony or Samsung. The picture quality is excellent — very sharp, vibrant colors, and plenty bright. It is a bright TV, but that’s actually a plus because it includes a blue light filter, which is something you don’t see often and makes a big difference if you watch TV at night. It’s much easier on the eyes and helps reduce eye strain, which I really appreciate. One of the most underrated features is that TCL offers its own built-in free content: • Free live TV • Movies • Shows • Channels you can watch at no cost On top of that, once you add apps like Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, etc., you honestly don’t feel like you’re missing anything. The smart interface is smooth, responsive, and easy to use. I bought this TV as a gift for my mom, and she’s been happy with it ever since. It does everything she needs without any complicated setup, and the picture quality alone makes it feel like a much more expensive TV. For the price, it’s hard to justify spending hundreds more on a “name-brand” TV when this does everything you could possibly want: • Great picture • Smart features • Free built-in content • Eye-friendly options • Competitive pricing If you’re on the fence and debating what TV to buy, do yourself a favor and just get this TCL. You won’t have to worry about buying another TV for years, and you’ll save a lot of money in the process. Highly recommended.

Decent budget QLED
The picture is really decent for a *non local dimming QLED HDTV. Using a Hisense 2.1 soundbar so can't say anything about speakers, yet some say there fine. If your moving up from dirt cheap tv the sound on this may be okay for you. If buying a sound bar get the 2.1 for better bass. I dislike the google interface due to not being familiar with it. I have Amazon app, with several add on features up and running. Also the TCL channels, you tube, antenna local channels and live channels as well as Stars and NETFLIX, what else is needed. Without Google set up I have no voice commands. My 4K DVD Blue Ray player showed up with no problems. Some have (few) complained that they couldn't get their DVD to show up. I figure one day I will get it (Google) set up as soon as someone who is teckie stops by. Picture on this flatscreen is really very good with brilliant color, black n whites. Picture adjusts itself thru the AIPQ processor, not much else to adjust, as it dose this for you 1st 24 hours of use. Price was great at $150 off or $248 for the 50 inch. My AMAZON Fire 50 inch, QLED died after 18 months, so buying a TV was not in my budget at this time and that is how I ended up with this unit, the cost. This TCL is a good price friendly budget QLED TV and well worth the price. Bought the insurance plan for 3 years. Seems now days HDMI TV'S are a throw away item? Only negative I have on this is Google and that may be a deal breaker for some buyers. I am just to use to Fire. Even without Google set up I have so many channels, movies, live tv that I am in no hurry to set it up. (purchased Jan 30 updated March14th 25 uped to 5 Stars)***Pro's (6) *QLED, *Excellent color, *Great black n whites, *Pre loaded App's, *Available channels *Low Price. ***Update JUNE 29th 2025, I set Google up and it was easy. Just need a Google email address and your cell phone #. Now able to add other apps like Tubi, Plex and more. Now my voice remote works.

The options are always daunting when buying a new TV; Go ahead and try this one. [50-inch Q651G]
Update: Google TVs are garbage. After poking around to see what the TV is capable of, I found that you CAN'T CAST phone or tablet screens to it directly. Not even a Google Pixel phone can do it. Also, you CAN'T TYPE ANYTHING when trying to search for apps. There is no pop up keyboard on screen when pressing OK on the search field. You're forced to use a Roku stick or something because Google's OS is total junk. ---- I tend to dread shopping for a new TV because the internet is full of misinformation and people who don't know what they're talking about. This time was no different, but I'm glad I settled with this one. It was on sale for under $300 and feels like a great buy at that price. No way I'd pay retail for it with all the other options out there though. I will agree with a lot of the other reviews that if you can you should spend a little more and get a TV with local dimming zones and higher brightness, to improve the contrast and take advantage of HDR (the QM7 is often recommended.) However, this TV looks absolutely fine in our dimly-lit room. Only had to bump up the Color setting a little to make it pop. The viewing angle is also fine, we actually have it on the wall set above eye level and the picture doesn't change dramatically like some exaggerate. It's a Google TV, but you don't need a Google account to use it. We're using a ROKU 4K Streaming Stick instead of the Google TV OS. It works, though there are some quirks, like displaying low-resolution images/video when browsing the Amazon Prime Video app (the videos themselves are the correct res though). Also the TV can't seem to be powered on with the Roku remote the way our previous TV could. It needs to be powered on with the TV's remote and then the Roku remote can take over everything. You may prefer the Google OS, since then you can install certain apps like Steam Link for gaming.

Good picture, slow interface
The picture on this TV is really good. I have zero complaints about that. The built-in Google interface is painfully slow. It's really annoying. I would've preferred a non-smart TV but they are impossible to find. In any case, the TV does everything I need it to and the price was good so I'm giving it 4 stars. The TV is very light and was easy to mount. The remote is intuitive and easy to use. It connects with Bluetooth so you don't have to point it at the TV for it to work, which I really like.

Love this TV!! So much functionality and picture is awesome!!
This is my first QLED TV, so take this review with a grain of salt. I will say take advantage of the deluxe delivery and unpacking, as they will place your tv and unbox it for you. I tested it and it had zero issues so I was super happy about that service. As for setup, it was fairly easy, as it’s a google tv, just use the power cord provided and power it on. Once it’s on, it make take bit to upload or download the latest firmware, but once that is done, you’re ready to go. As for the picture quality, there are multiple options, I use YouTube tv without the 4K option, so I fired up Apple TV’s baseball offering and picture was so lifelike!! Again, this is my first QLED but I was blown away. As for the speakers, they sounded decent, but I ended up getting a sound bar, which really enhances the overall experience. This tv is built very well, and offers multiple options for brightness and color, etc. Overall, I’m super impressed with this TV!! While I know it’s not super high end, it’s nice enough that you will be happy with your purchase, just like me. I happily recommend this product!!

Gaming, Streaming, Performance 10/10
TLDR: This replaced the projector I've been using, and I couldn't be happier with my choice here (98 inch). Gaming, game streaming is excellent. Movies. 10/10. Apps I use that work amazing on this: Stremio (sailing the high seas in 4k) Moonlight (streaming your games from your PC to your TV, highly recommend) I had been debating finding a new TV, I've just been using a projector for a few years now and I've gotten tired of not being able really use it during the day or even play games at all on it. I was super worried about it showing up and it being broken, but it wasn't an issue at all. Getting it into my house though.. Definitely measure the entryway first. 😅 I barely made it, and that was forcing it through my stairway. Risky business. It all worked out though. It's really 'snappy', no delays or lag with input. Picture is perfect. Its absolutely massive and definitely a surprise for anyone that walks in. Gaming, movies and everything else looks fantastic. Performance was a big surprise. I'm running the android TV Moonlight client on it to stream games from my desktop to this TV, and WOW! Blew my expectations out of the water. No perceptible input lag with my controller hooked directly to the TV, graphics and stream are PERFECT and I'm going over wifi instead of wired in internet. No tearing, skipped frames, nothing. (I do have a high-end desktop, and very high end networking through the house though, so results may vary). Why does it matter? Because android/google TVs have been notorious for being very bad at running this app, but this one handles it like a champ. 10/10 would recommend for the gamers. I'm not an expert on color accuracy and everything, but it all looks fantastic. The sound is fantastic. Graphics definitely rival (and surpass) my gaming monitor. I did notice some black screens for a bit when I play on my xbox, but that was a settings issue. Pay attention to the inputs, and what each one supports for speed/quality. And adjust any settings on devices to stay in line. Make sure your cables support the quality you're going for.

TCL Q6 65" - a great tv when picture optimized
For $370, this 65" QLED TV is hard to beat. Yes, its not ULED with the latest micro leds, nor OLED, with its screen life and burn in problems, which were off my list to begin with. You can easily pay 2x or 3x as much. But ask yourself: Is the 'improvement' going to be worth it? I think not, particularly if you take the time to optimize the myriad picture, contrast, and color settings on this. To me, many of these settings were not self explanatory. So I went through each one, with advice from ChatGPT on how to best set it. Start, as always, with the most comprehensive lead-in for ChatGPT to base the settings on. What do you watch? Movies, Sports? State what to optimize on. Is your room bright? Can you darken it for viewing? Then systematically go thru every setting, as deep as possible. I rarely watch TV during the day. Its at night, in a room I can darken very well. Primarily movies, PBS Nature shows, almost never sports. I am quite happy with my final settings: vivid colors, dark blacks, white whites, great contrast, never looks washed out - except on poor content. I was surprised to see the differences between different content. Well made content will look really good. Poorly made, you will note the difference. I never on any of my other TVs, noticed such a difference. In short, when optimized, I see no reason to spend more than the $370 this costs. Very happy purchaser!
