First, I tried researching solar light tops for the posts. Bad news on multiple brands, all I found had problems. delivered broken or one would work and the others would not. So I found these black New England style post covers. I'm brilliant, these are black and I placed them on white posts. They look fantastic, and best of all took a total of 4 minutes to install. This type of project sad to say gets me frustrated as hubby was not home, and thought I'd try myself. Wow 4 minutes. Easy Easy Easy and guaranteed for 10 years. Love my caps

Easy to install and looks great

Seem pretty nice, and install easily. However....... the Amazon listing claims that they're made in the USA which is the main reason why I bought them. They were a lot more money than most of other brands out there. Nowhere on these caps or in the packaging could I find "MADE IN USA. Products that are made in this country are always proudly stamped as such so I have my doubts that these are made here. If the seller can prove me wrong I'll jump up my rating to five stars.

The 6x6 2-piece post cap is an incredible replacement to my 20-yr old post caps with the dome being made of stamped copper that's supported by wood underneath. As fancy as copper seems, what does it matter if it's beauty is hidden by paint? The wood substructure swells and distorts. The wood mill work trim that's nailed to the post requires caulking for super tight miter joints and great paint out. In the end, the copper dome isn't an advantage over the plastic dome as they are both painted over. The new post cap doesn't have trim pieces thar fall off or can be bumped out of place. SURE...THE NEW CAPS ARE MADE OF PLASTIC...BUT THEY ARE DURABLE...MAINTAIN CRISP LINES & APPEARANCES...NOT INSECT OR WATER PRONE ...UV PROTECTED WITH PAINTING...SUPER EASY & FAST TO INSTALL...A NO BRAINER PRODUCT & READY TO BUY A FEW DOZEN FOR MORE REPLACEMENTS

Just what I needed

The quality of these post caps are unreal. I've had them for 3 years now and they are bulletproof. They haven't faded at all from the outdoor elements and they look amazing. I've recommended these to all my neighbours.

Very easy to install and look great. I found the fitting a bit tight on most 4x6 posts, but a simple twisting off of the plastic protrusions in the cap made everything fit perfectly.
