Quality leverless at a good price.
I play this on PC, this is plug and play with no issues as most things are on PC. It's very nice, feels decently weighty since it has two metal plates to add weight, so it's stable on my lap, it's essentially just a F500 with a leverless configuration. Edges are nice and smooth, and the acrylic is flush with the case, so nothing digs into my palms when resting my hands on it. The stock buttons don't feel great, kinda like sandy Sanwas, less smooth, more coarse feeling on the edges. They work fine but if you are used to more premium feeling buttons you are gonna want to switch these out. I moved over my Qanba Gravity KS buttons from my old leverless, feels much nicer now. Replacing buttons is easy, 6 screws on the bottom, remove the bottom panel, unhook the quick connect cables on each button, pop em out, stick the news ones in. Wish it had a detachable usb cable, but for 90 bucks, I can't complain. Input lag according to Mayflash is 1ms, so about as good as it gets if you are a stickler for that. If you are in the market for a new leverless controller, on a budget, and want something that can fit standard arcade buttons so you can easily upgrade parts later on, then I think you can't go wrong with this. If you are on Xbox though do know it requires you to connect your controller to the Flat for it to work.

Great all button/leverless, solid build, easy to use!
After owning for about a couple weeks now, this leverless has become one of my favorites under $100 USD. I like that they chose to use arcade style buttons. As a long-time arcade stick user, the buttons provide a nice transition compared to the flatbox devices that use keyboard switches and caps. The size and weight feels great for either using on my lap or on a table and always feels sturdy and stable. I was able to use a magicboots ps4 adapter to use this on my ps5, and I also connected a wired Xbox Series X controller to use it on the series x console. It also works on other devices like PC and the Switch. So I've been having fun trying it on my various consoles. The buttons are surprisingly good for generic offbrand stuff. I've used tons of button brands and styles and these feel like less sensitive sanwas with a bit of extra travel. I adjusted to these from my other leverless after maybe 10 minutes of playing. I will likely keep using them until I want to swap colors or another brand for fun, or just do a full swap if a button gets faulty. I rather have these cheaper buttons to save money over buying an "elite" version so I can have my own choice of quality buttons on my terms when ready. I'm also looking forward to trying my hand at customizing the artwork. I'm happy I gave this product a chance! I really can't think of much I would change about it that wouldn't push the price higher than I want it to be.

The only hitbox you need.
This was my first hitbox controller. If you’re indecisive about which hitbox to buy, this is a great option. I’ve done lots of research on so many other controllers, bought a few, returned all of them, but only this one feels complete with no issues. Mind you, this is all around the $100 - $130 range If you want to be picky, maybe the size of the buttons? They’re not all 30mm, but that’s nothing in my opinion, you’ll get used to it in no time. The buttons are solid from factory, used it for 6 months before decided to upgrade to Sanwa. Very easy to upgrade. The build is a bit heavy and sturdy, which I love. Doesn’t feel weak and “plastic-y”. They even include a nice velcro strap to keep your wires tucked away clean. I plan on using this at EVO. That’s how much this controller rocks. 5/5 would recommend to anybody.

Next best thing after a hitbox
The stick itself weighs and sits really nicely, stock buttons work perfectly and the many functions of the stick are always good to have, I really love the L3 and R3 buttons, one small complaint is that the buttons are a little smaller than your average buttons, but other than that I am very satisfied with the Mayflash F500 Flat.

Best value in leverless arcade sticks
The obvious comparison will be to the Haute42 line, so here's why i prefer the Mayflash: It uses arcade buttons. No replacement for that responsiveness. That also means you have higher quality options availabile for swapping them out. I put Qanba Gravity buttons in mine and it has been fantastic. The Mayflash is better for lap-play, which feels more natural. It is much more substantial in weight and width than any of the Haute42 offerings. This controller often gets referred to as a "starter" leverless but after swapping the buttons out, there's nothing under $300 that i would replace this with.

You have to replace the buttons. HAVE TO.
I'll make this short and sweet. Do not expect the stock buttons to be as performant as Sanwa or Qanba or Seimitsu buttons. Stock buttons are awful. I used to run Seimitsu throughout SF4 and SF5 in a standard stick setup, and forgot how good they actually are after taking a long break and switching to hitbox. The stock buttons on this hitbox make a lot of noise, but they are also awful. Too much travel. I switched to Qanba Gravity KS, and immediately started landing combos I had hard time with before. So if you're serious about your games (which you are if you're buying a hitbox), expect to replace these awful stock button. I chucked mine into garbage once I replace them, its that bad in comparison.

One of the best priced leverless controllers on the market
Considering the price of other popular leverless controllers from Razer, Hitbox, etc. the F500 Flat is currently at an excellent price point. The F500 Flat keeps the F500's traditional thick plastic arcade stick shape/housing and metal bottom plate. This gives the controller more weight and stability on your lap so it doesn't shift around. Even considering upgrades to the buttons and a converter for PS5 compatibility, the price would likely still be well below the previously mentioned competitors. Customization is also easy with the controller's hardware as well as the SOCD options. The bottom plate is held by six screws that give access to the Mayflash proprietary buttons and can be changed in the same way as traditional arcade sticks. Meanwhile, changing the SOCD setting is as easy as plugging in the controller and holding the Select button + a specific direction depending on which setting you need. After changing out the buttons, there are no real downsides for me with daily use now.

Excellent leverless with premium feel
These days the good options for a leverless range from affordable slim controllers or big brand controllers with an equally big price tag. The F500 flat right here is a godsend, premium quality at an affordable price, great range of compatible devices and the right layout/size for someone with somewhat big hands. Feels excellent to use at your lap and old style arcade buttons let me do sliding 720 motions without a switch or buttoncap flying out like those slim controllers. Default buttons are pretty decent which is surprising because I was ready to change them soon after receiving the controller. I've been playing on leverless for a decade and I can't recommend it enough!
