Denon DCD-100 CD Player, Music Player for HiFi System, CD / MP3 / WMA files, Digital Coaxial Output, OLED Display, D/A Conversion Block - Silver/Black

Extremely happy with the Denon DCD-100 CD Player purchased from the UK, since this unit was not available in the US market where I reside. This CD player was perfectly matched with the Denon PMA-150H, Denon Home 150 Wireless Speakers and Denon S-M41 Speakers which is currently set-up in my home office. The functionality and audio quality of the Denon Design Series exceeded this Audiophile's expectations. The HEOS App is very intuitive, whereby most of the functions are readily controlled on my iphone 12 Pro. Greatly appreciate the simplicity of connecting all the component units together. Definitely a superb Hi-Fi component system that is worth the investment.

This is another piece of very high quality kit from Denon. Build quality is excellent - and the sound, as you'd expect, pretty awesome. Clever design too, with either horizontal or vertical placement possible. I have it paired with a Denon PMA-50 amp and Q Acoustics 3020i speakers. And that combination sounds exceptional, especially considering that they are all 'compact' components.

This is my second dcd-50. The first one refused to play any of my CD's. It would read them, show the number of tracks and duration, but when I pressed play it would whirr and click for about a minute and then say "unsupported". I phoned Denon they said take it back. I did and then ordered another from Amazon. The new one worked fine for about two weeks and then started to have the same problem. It now refuses to play about 2/3 rds of my CD's including the ones it was happily playing last week! Shame because it looks nice, particularly with the PMA-60 it sits on top of, but unless I am extremely unluckily this product is simply a dud.

overall a good cd player. However, when I try to play some of my discs it will not recognize them and just puts up a message on the display " unsupported " which is odd as they play fine on my other cd player. This is a bit of a disappointment as it ruins an otherwise excellent product. After writing this review on 23/02/2021 I decided to turn it on it's side, because you can use it in the horizontal or vertical positions and to my great surprise I tried the discs that would not play in the horizontal played perfectly in the vertical. . . . odd????. anyone know why this should be?

Whilst I stream a lot of music these days and I've ripped my cd's to my NAS drive to play through my speakers, I still like to play my cd's but didn't want to go for a large player. This Denon fits the bill well as I use it vertically and has the 'form factor' in my living room alongside my amp and TT. Sound quality is excellent and I'm enjoying playing my old cd's again.

Searched for some time to find a CD player that was small, good looking and at the right place. Took some doing but this fits the bill perfectly. Looks incredible and was more than pleasantly surprised by the playback quality. Definitely punches way above it's weight when it comes to sound quality versus price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this player, especially having lived with it for several months.

Listening to this CD player from Denon is not just a unik pleasure, it is also an aesthetic experience.

Looks great listened to Supertramp's crime of the century sounded good played fine tried to play three more CDs but cd player wouldn't play any of them so put it back in its box and will be returning

Hace aproximadamente un año adquirí este reproductor por las buenas críticas de la marca en la red. Recibí el reproductor, muy bonito por fuera. Estuve utilizando una semana y cual fue mi sorpresa que algunos Cd no los reproducía. Solicite en su momento el reemplazo del artículo, el nuevo llegó antes de que me diese tiempo a enviar el defectuoso, ahora, después de un año el reproductor "nuevo" al no tener bandeja de entrada sino ranura para introducir los Cd vuelve a dar problemas, no coge los discos a no ser que los empujes y lo peor es que no los escupe con normalidad quedándose el motorcillo de eyección funcionando, sinceramente después del desembolso de 319€ por el reproductor y que te de problemas en menos de un año es una decepción.

Das Gerät klingt sehr gut, sieht gut aus, und der Service ist Hammer. Als ich eine CD unachtsam schief in den Player führte, schickte ich ihn per Amazon Rücksende Etikett gratis nach Stuttgart zur Firma Ried. Nach fünf (!) Tagen erhielt ich das Gerät, super verpackt , nun wieder ok, inclusiv der CD in meiner Hülle. Der Player klingt tatsächlich besser in Kombi mit einem Verstärker, der auch von Denon ist. Das kann man sich zwar einreden, doch man hört & spürt die guten Vibes.

Collegato al suo "gemello" amplificatore digitale DENON PMA-50 attraverso il collegamento "coax" mi ha convinto per trasparenza del suono e per la capacità di rendere un "Soundstage" (capacità di rendere la posizione dei vari strumenti nello spazio) molto definito, grazie alla catena di riproduzione e amplificazione completamente digitale (senza conversione in analogico) dal CD fino all'uscita per altoparlanti. La riproduzione è neutra e fedele. Anche la finitura è impeccabile e comunica qualità e cura dei particolari. Comodo il telecomando che incorpora anche tutte le funzioni dell'amplificatore. Destinato sopratutto agli amanti "puri" dell'alta fedeltà che vogliono un prodotto senza fronzoli ma con elevato rapporto qualità/prezzo. Attenzione riproduce anche CD con file mp3 e wma ma non riproduce SACD.

Das Gerät sieht toll aus. Leider ist damit alles Positive gesagt, denn als CD–Player ist das optisch tolle Gerät schlicht nicht recht tauglich. Teilweise vermag er normale Audio–CDs gar nicht zu lesen, bei vielen anderen CDs setzt er beim Abspielen immer wieder aus. Damit ist natürlich sowohl bei Musik–CDs wie auch Hörbüchern, Gedichten etc. jegliches Anhören unerträglich. Nur relativ wenige CDs spielt es ohne Aussetzer ab. Da bei aller Ästhetik letztlich doch die Funktion im Vordergrund stehen sollte, rate ich dringend vom Kauf dieses Gerätes ab.
