I recently installed these Govee Smart Outdoor String Lights on my back patio using a separate string light hanging kit I also purchased. Once the hanging kit's support wire was in place, the Govee lights were a breeze to attach with zip ties, utilizing the handy loops built into the light string. This setup ensures no sagging, which looks great.The brightness of the warm white LEDs is just right, and the color-changing capability is fantastic, responding perfectly to both the Govee app (for initial setup) and Alexa voice commands. The dimming function works well, allowing for a nice ambiance when relaxing in the hot tub at night.While the lights offer 47 scene modes, I haven't explored those yet, as controlling the color and brightness via Alexa voice commands is simple and meets my needs. I haven't had any connectivity or reliability issues. Although the lights are somewhat protected under my eaves, they've been exposed to plenty of dew with no problems at all, indicating good weather resistance.The 144ft length was actually more than I needed; it comes in three sections, and I only used two. I wish Govee sold the controller separately so I could utilize the third unused section elsewhere. I purchased these during a holiday sale in 2024, and at that price, they felt like a great value. However, their regular price seems quite high.Compared to my previous basic Costco white string lights (which only had on/off functionality), these Govee lights are a significant upgrade with color changing, dimming, and voice control. The voice control is particularly convenient when I have my portable Alexa speaker outside by the hot tub. Overall, I'm happy with the lights, especially at the sale price – I'd recommend waiting for a discount to get the best value.

The lights are awesome. Love the effects. I'm writing the review for the customer service though. I had an issue with my lights (that I'm pretty sure wasn't a fault of Govee's), let them know through the app, and they fixed me right up QUICKLY. 6 stars for customer service!

So far they work great and have held up through some strong thunderstorms. Will have to wait to see how they fare after a winter season.

Amazing lights. I ordered a non top shelf brand, and regretted it. Sent it back and got these. What a great decision. Their lights are the best quality you can get out there, by far. Quality is in their product as much as it is in their app, which is the part that shines. You aren't just buying lights, if you're buying this style, then you have to understand your buying the brands app too, and the app is key to using and playing around with the lights. Their app is amazing compared to all others I've seen. Very user friends and the amount of options are far greater than others. Yes, they're more expensive. But yes, they're much better. Absolutely worth the spend up people.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I love Govee! Although I am leaving a 4 star review on this because it is meant to be an outdoor light but yet the plug-in and controller do not have anything to protect them from the weather. Also, the length of cable from the control box to the first light should be a lot longer IMHO. That way maybe you could find a safe spot to plug it in and put the box and still have some cable till the first light. The app and choices are great! And very happy with this selection. I only have one string but like the capability to add another set. I used a Hrensaw Medium Outdoor Electrical Box https://amzn.to/462ISCi along with Power Strip Weatherproof, Transparent Surge Protector with 3 Wide Outlets https://amzn.to/3T2zPKa. I then got something to set the green box on top of and it seems to work well. Connectivity:Able to use the Govee App and my Alexa also can turn it on and off super easily.Color:Love the ability to change each bulb, and change the theme and speed. It would be nice to have even more granular control of the speed of some of the color changing.Brightness:Plenty bright and has the ability to dim.

Easy to install, very easy to set up in the app and they look great. We run them on the time in the app and that too was easy to set up with your on and off time and what color(s) you want the lights. If you are looking for RGB type lights, I highly recommend these lights.

Nice lights. Used to decorate my campsite. Worked well. Strands easily connected. Played around with them and changed the colors/patterns. Fun cool feature.

I hope I save someone out there a couple of hours of trial and error. Although these lights are incredible in their design functionality and ease of operation, it must be emphasized that you cannot add another 140 foot foot strand to the original one you have purchased. I realize my backyard would need two if not, three 140 foot boxes and I have already run an extension cord from my outdoor plug to the beginning of my first strand. I now have to either run an additional extension cord to the middle of my yard going all around it, or give everything back and start fresh with a different pair of lights. The ends of each strands have adapters, which made me think. The male and female plugs can just be connected. That is not the case there is no definitive ending strand!!!!!!
