(DCCS672B 60V FLEXVOLT 18" Brushless Chainsaw-Bare Tool, Yellow/Black

This took down a 22" gum and I bent the bar while bucking (it was my first day). While waiting on a replacement I got a Stihl 271 (I've got a lot of storm damaged trees). This little beauty is my pack with and minor cut champ. After using both for a full day I can tell you the DeWalt is kinder on you, but has battery limitations. Power wise it's pretty decent and is phenomenal in ground work where you'll do a cut, then position awhile and so on. I'll fire up the Sthil about 10 times over a day, but use the DeWalt well over 100 individual cuts. I would equate the ease of use to to why golf carts are preferred over stick shifts in a lot of places, this is just fun. Great tool for what it is and invaluable for anyone, be they weekend warrior or home steader. For those of us not up to Wranglestar status this is a great back up for the gas powdered and can charge batteries off a solar panel. If you're clearing debris or heating your home this is a great tool and piece of mind. It is pretty liberal with the bar oil discharge, I'd recommend storing with that in mind.

Very stiff chain. You must first heavily lubricate the chain, loosen the bolts, and then tighten the adjuster as far as you think reasonable. After that, turn the adjuster yet another quarter turn, tighten the bolts and run it unloaded at full speed for a minute. REPEAT WHEN DONE. If you fail to pre-stretch the chain it will skip out of the tracks during operation. (Do not ask me how I know this.) Do this for any new chain in the future. I am highly impressed with the torque, it is everything they say it is, and it bites through wood like nothing else I have ever used. I have not used it enough to determine the battery life but I took down and chopped three small trees, multiple bushes & branches, and it only lowered the power indicator by one bar. I feel I can get more out of one battery than almost three tanks of gas. (Buy multiple 60v batteries. I know they are expensive, but think of it as an investment.) I was unimpressed by the guard around the driving sprocket as it clogs a wee bit too easily. I understand it is a safety feature but still... It is amazingly quiet and I am sure my neighbours appreciate that, great tool overall.

I love it! Powerful saw. Better than my gas chainsaw. Advise not to buy from Canada Tools though. Terrible customer service from them.
