How do they compare to other ginger mints?

I am sorry but I do not buy the ginger mints. I always buy the peppermint mints an they are the best by far that I have ever purchased.

Are these strong ginger mints, like Newman's Own ginger mints?

Never had Newman’s but these are very strong ginger. Love them.

Are these really spicy?

Not too spicy. I really like them but I also really like ginger.

If you like anise...

If you enjoy the taste of anise then this is for you. I do and I loved them. The only downside I could find was the price. Otherwise, a great little treat with a wonderful taste. Would buy again. Just maybe not as regularly as I'd like.
