I'm always skeptical of online reviews. But this unit earns and deserves its high ratings. Easy to set up, easy to operate. The app has worked flawlessly. The unit quickly cools the hot upstairs hallway and bedroom with ease. The dehumidify function works great, too. It's pretty humid here (ranging from 65-85%), and this thing makes a noticeable difference you can feel. As for noise, it's not bad at all. It is definitely quieter than a box fan, but a little more so than a white noise generator. But I typically have it on the highest fan speed. Lower speeds are quieter, of course. I also monitor our daily electric usage. We're in the middle of an unpleasant heat wave, so this is running quite a lot. I was surprised that it really hasn't added much to the electric usage. If you're on the fence about spending the money on a portable unit, this is worth the price. I'm pleased with it and would recommend it! UPDATE: Still very pleased with this unit. It did so well in our home that I decided to put this in my workshop and run the venting and drain through the wall. Works perfectly and is able to comfortably cool and decrease the humidity in my shop!

We bought this to use when glamping and it has been fantastic! One thing that we did learn in the process is that if you hook it up using an extension cord, your old orange one that we all keep in our garages will get super hot because they are not built to run an AC. After that, it was as easy as carrying it out to the tent, hooking it up to a power supply, and running the exhaust tube out through one of the doors of the tent, zipped up tightly around the tube. I tested this in both a popular hub tent and a 10x14 canvas tent, in the back yard, in direct summer sunlight in Texas. The temperature on the grass was 103F and after 45 minutes in either tent, the temperature had dropped 15 degrees. After an hour and a half, the difference was up to 20 degrees. It runs quietly, has oscillating vents that move air around more than just freezing out one area and auto adjusted as the temperature got closer to where it was set. When the sun ducked behind the house, it got down to a chilly 65 degrees in the tent and the AC regulated, maintaining the temperature easily. The system used internally recycles the condensation so there was also no need for a drain line. This will go with us any time the temperatures are higher. Great purchase!

I did a lot of research online and filtered through the many options for portable ACs here on Amazon. Dismissed many for their poor quality, rushed translations, and general quirks until I came across this one. Reviews were very positive and the concerns I had with other units were alleviated with the information provided here. I decided to purchase this unit and received it a week later. Installation was very easy. The instructions were clear; everything I needed was provided, including the window kit and plenty of insulation material, and the app was really well made and easy to use. The unit cooled a single room very quickly which is in alignment with the description. I was very pleased with my purchase, except there was one issue: Any time the unit was powered on, it produced a loud rattling noise that originated from somewhere internally. I tried to see if there was something I could do to mitigate this issue externally but had no luck. I continued to use it for the next week or so, hoping that it would fix itself over time but the rattling just got worse and was starting to affect my sleep. At this point, I reached out to Dreo customer service. Within 24 hours I received a response from Tina who had already diagnosed what the issue may be (likely the inside fan being damaged during shipping), immediately offered to send a replacement, and requested a video as well as a few more details so that they can process it. After these details were provided, I communicated that I would be out of town over the next couple of weeks and was asked to reach out when I was ready for the replacement to be shipped. I reached out a week later and that very same day, the label was created and the replacement unit shipped. Tina provided an exceptional customer support service that is really hard to find nowadays and I feel completely comfortable purchasing from Dreo as I know if any issues arise, they are there to stand by their products and ensure that the customer is happy with their purchase. I have only had my air conditioner for two months and it has been working wonderfully! I have not had any issues at all with this air conditioner! Recently, we have had a lightning storm, and I had an electrical power surge, causing the outlet to burn the plug on my air conditioner. I was so upset and scared because I had just purchased this air conditioner and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I did some research and activated my warranty. I replaced the outlet that burnt and noticed the Cord to the air conditioner was burnt, and the plastic around the prongs was slightly melted. I had my fingers In hopes that I was still able to use my air conditioner. With the new outlet, I plugged in my AC and turned it on. The AC worked perfectly! The only issue was after three minutes of running, I started to smell burning. I thought that maybe it was OK for a slight hint of burning since it is a new outlet. I kept the air conditioner plugged in for another two minutes and the burning smell kept getting intense. In fear of an electrical fire, I shut off the breaker and turned off the air conditioner, Unplugging it. I wasn’t sure if it was the air conditioner or if it was the outlet. We checked the outlet and everything was good so I decided to try other appliances. The other appliances that outlet did not produce a smell and they continue to work as they should so I came to the conclusion that it was the air conditioner. I Quickly contacted customer service, And less than 24 hours, I had a response. DREO Customer service was absolutely astounding! I spoke with Tina About my situation situation and they are replacing the air conditioner! I am overjoyed with a quick response because of these high temperatures. I do not have central AC and we only have one other portable air conditioner in the whole entire home. I am very pleased with my experience with this company, and I recommend anyone who is looking for a portable air conditioner! The air conditioner is quiet and has so many features that are able to allow you ease of access! It is by far the best portable air conditioner that I have ever Had! It is very sleek and stylish and does not take up much space! For the price that this is listed, it is a good price!!! There is a saying that you get what you pay for, And 100%! This air conditioner is the number one air conditioner that I would recommend to any shopper that is looking To buy one!!! Five stars all around and I would give this a 10 out of 10!!! If you have any concerns or questions, their customer support team is amazing and their community is always growing!! I love their app and I was amazed at the products that they offer! A bit overpriced, like everything these days but whatever. At least this unit delivers some cold air, but it only cools downtown 65 which is kind of lame considering it has to kick the compressor on and off, and you only get the really cold air when the compressor is on. I would expect it to go to 60. I'm beginning to think none of these standing ACs are great compared to a window AC unit or a quality central air. This is the third standing unit I'm trying from Amazon. I tried two different MIDEA standing AC units and had to return them both. One was a returned item sold to me as new, and the other did not cool well AT ALL. I would stay away from that brand personally. This Dreo unit is very good. Unboxing was as expected. Quality packaging and everything in new plastic. The unit iteself feels quality as well. Immediately upon turning the unit on everything is pleasant, and to my surprise the front directional blades are automatic going up and down to direct the cold air evenly. You can also pause them the direction you want. The App controls are great right from your phone via wifi, schedules etc. etc. I've used Dreo for my tower fan products and I'm pleased with this AC as well compared to the Midea I tried. I just wish it blew the cold air for longer periods I guess,but it works and when it's blowing cold air it is pretty darn cold. One thing they need to improve is how the exhaust clips into the window insert. It works but it's hard to do after you install the window divider and screw the window locking brackets in place for an older window.

My honest review.. I normally don't leave any reviews.. I purchased this because i play video games and I truly get hot. My room itself will get extremely hot with my PC and i've had days of my room getting up to 80-86 degrees. I'll admit that temp is horrible to game in. I purchased this in hopes that it would truly help. I received my order a few days ago and have ran it throughout each night. I also ran it while I was off work today and played video games. This fan is so amazing! It blows ICE cold air. I run super hot and have never been frozen until now. Not only is it comfortable as heck to game for as long as I like. But sleeping is sooooooooo amazing now! I keep the AC on fan level 1 and can sleep peacefully all night long. I am shocked that something was finally able to cool my room down completely while I game. While gaming today and it being hot outside. My room stayed as a comfortable 72 degrees with the AC being set to 73. The AC also doesn't run 24/7. It only runs when it detects the temp going up and then will turn off which is amazing. The app is also flawless on the phone. Installation was pretty simple, the Remote control is perfect if you don't want the app, however the app is way quicker. For what I paid, I can say it was worth every single penny. I may update this review in the coming months to update whether i still love it or if i have any issues

I have had this unit for around 11 months. It works great, and it's really quiet. The app works, the remote works, I've had to clean the filters a few times which was really easy. I do recommend getting the app so you can download firmware updates. I have had about 6 units and this is the best one I've ever had by far, which is surprising since it only has one tube for the exhaust. This is a safe buy. I use it in a medium sized bedroom but it ends up cooling most of the upstairs and that's with leaving a door open so my dog can use the patio at anytime. It's a really impressive unit. I have not noticed the outside air coming into the unit, as one reviewer states, I don't even think it's possible since it has just one tube that only blows in one direction. It's never created funky odors. Not sure why his outside air smells like wet dogs he should get that checked out.

IMPORTANT: I had two Dreo Units and tested them. When the unit is in between AC cycles, it blows outside exterior air into my bedroom. Like a window unit does when it’s running, But as a portable AC unit they are supposed to use the homes air and recycle it. Pulling air from the home to cool the air. I have had multiple AC units while living here. This is the only one that I’ve owned do this. The Dreo customer support claims that their products don’t pull from the air outside and asked I attach images for proof of my install quality. As an OCD perfectionist I had zero issues showing them my install quality. I used the non adhesive foam for the window frame as well as the top of the window to block the air from coming up in between the gap. I then used adhesive foam around the window panels. After all that I added HVAC air duct tape. This weather proofs it and seals the window fully. I also use insulation wrap on the vent tube so there is ZERO chance hot air exhaust or exterior air could be coming into my room. For those that use portable AC units often you will know what it feels like when the air is circulating through properly. If you’re in a bedroom and if you have to shut the door, you will feel a little tug bc that’s the AC unit pulling air from the home it creates pressure. It should always feel this way even on “Fan” mode. However the Dreo unit on “fan” mode and or in between the AC cycles, it doesn’t have that pressure pull. I can tell that the air quality is also bad. I have an air purifier in my room. It lights up either green, yellow or red depending on the air quality. It’s been yellow and red since I installed this Dreo AC unit. I have allergies BAD so once my eyes started burning and itching i knew something was off. Not to mention the smell alone was enough to make me sick. That “outside” smell. Like someone’s been sitting in the sun for 12 hours - or like a wet dog. That has been blowing in my room in between the AC cycle. I did laundry and I can usually smell clean fresh sheets for days before it goes away and when I tell you it took minutes for my entire Bedding, closet, and room to go from laundry fresh to wet dog outside smell. Again, Dreo claims it isn’t their product and that it shouldn’t do this but it’s clear to me. They created an amazing look, the noise level is so quiet, I love the remote that glows in the dark & how you can turn the light off on the appliance so it isn’t bright when you are sleeping, I love the double air filter that you can remove to clean bc it protects ALL of the parts inside the appliance, if taken care of properly and cleaned weekly it should run for years, and I was excited to see it came with non adhesive foam and also adhesive foam to help weather proof it because I normally have to buy that myself at Home Depot so that was an added benefit. The look is sleek. It’s not massive in size which for a 12,000 BTU they are usually large. I love how COLD my room is & I mean COLD! the 12,000 BTU I’ve had to set this unit between 73-75 bc I was actually freezing when I went to bed. I am heat intolerant so this is huge for me. I’m telling you, I did research on AC units for 2 days before making this purchase and if it wasn’t for the exterior air being pulled into my room on the fan mode, I would be writing a completely different review for you all. I would have given it 5 stars all around. Well, I do feel like the window panels are weakly designed and should come with two “size B” panels and have screws to keep the hose better connected to the panel, but that’s here nor there. I’m not a Dreo product manager but they should hire me after this. LOL If you listen to any review. This is the one. NOTE: If you DONT have allergies or don’t mind the “outside wet dog” smell, this is a wonderful AC unit. Fantastic actually. As I said above I had a list of MUST haves when researching AC units. From owning previous units I knew what I didn’t want and what I needed. This Dreo unit has all the wants and needs. It’s the perfect unit if it wasn’t for the air flow and air quality it gives off between AC cycles. So when I say I’m disappointed I have to return this unit. I’ll end up sacrificing some wants in order to get a unit brand that works as it should to recycle the home air. It’s a shame. I would have been glowing if this issue would have been non existent. I hope that Dreo really takes this to heart and gets the fan mechanics right bc they will outperform any other AC appliance on the market. Hands down. The smart app is a bonus too. I hope this review helps others and you don’t have to go through what I went through. I’ve wasted so much time, money, & energy, during this process. Plus the researching and installing etc. not to mention the money I’ll have to spend to get more HVAC tape and a new HEPA air filter bc this one is trashed now. 😢 So to sum this up- it’s an amazing buy if you don’t have allergies and can deal with the smell. Otherwise, definitely go with something else. Make sure to check & see how these products work. I know I will call the next brand before I buy it. To double check all these things. And note to Dreo: Hire me and you would run the AC market. LOL mic drop.
