Great adhesion! 17 year old daughter loves these!
My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 just this past summer and we've been doing the rounds of patches and adhesive helpers, goo removers trying to find what works for her. She's a varsity volleyball player and has practice and/or a game almost every day, so adhesion quality and durability are the most important factors for her. She's had Omnipods yanked off, fallen off, and insurance is not so willing to replace them because of sports or accidents. With these patches, she's finally been able to go the full 3 days with the Omnipod in place, with no errors, and her trainers do not have to do extra wrapping with sports tape during the games anymore. She does use a band-like cover just to keep it stable with all the jumping and diving but these have worked great. She says they hurt a little coming off because the adhesive is so strong, but she prefers that to those that sweat off or don't support the weight of the Omnipod at all. She also suggests being prepared to use an extra or two while you're learning how to put them on. She doesn't cut the band across the middle, she sticks the band on first and stretches the rest of the patch around the Omnipod. She also uses a silicon pod cover that she says helps it feel secure. Anyway, great product, she recommends 100 percent after all the trials and tribulations! Her only wish? That they came in a black option. We can't find that option anywhere.

Effective, easy to apply
Bought these for a type 1 friend who can't apply his own pods and sensors due to essential tremors. I frequently help apply his diabetic supplies and these have been a godsend. The adhesive sticks well and he so far has had no reactions to it. Frankly he has more redness from the omnipod 5 adhesive itself than from the area covered by the simpatch. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of application due to the strap section but once you do these are extremely quick and easy. First "break" the perforations all apart on the backer paper sections. Then, remove the center backing paper from the strap ONLY. Slightly STRETCH that strap as you apply it to the pod making sure it's centered properly and that the strap is stretched all the way around the pod so that the rest of the patch can lay flat on the skin. Then peel the shorter end sections one at a time and apply them. Only then do you want to peel the longer side sections one at a time and secure them. Once done firmly smooth it with your fingers or better yet use a gift card or something similar as a squeegee to assure it's stuck all the way down and as smooth as possible. Even my first application went well enough... By the second I was a pro.

Great overall but wish there were more colors
I love the adhesion and these are the only overlays that work for my son (4 y/o) who is super active. My only complaint is I wish there were more colors! He loves to choose his color, but there are only 3 colors listed and no multipack. It is hard to find overlays that have an adhesive strap and the ones that do not have it raises the edges of the pod on his tiny arms and end up ripping off or require tape/coband to keep on. I did find that inserting the pod first and then applying the overlay did not go well and was hard to do. But I found that putting the overlay on the pod during the set up process helped a lot especially since he fights me. Perfect every time! Love the center perforated lines on the strap for set up the way we do it. Centers perfectly without folding over and it is easy to adjust on the pod. No need for stretching when removing the outer adhesive paper either. He has super sensitive skin (allergies and eczema) and breaks out with almost every overlay/device adhesive even with remover, but with the remover and this adhesive, he does not break out or does not break out as bad. Above all else, the price vs how many come in the pack and quality of this product is actually reasonable. Literally my only complaint is lack of colors especially for children who like to express themselves and feel like they have a say during this process.

Highly recommend :)
I LOVE simpatch! They stay on great and I love how this one has the strap across! My only issue is that it breaks out my arms! So I only use on my Omnipods on my legs and stomach.

Saved our Pods
Before we found our way to Simpatch+strap, my little boy would lose about every 3rd pod (he plays hard and he's just kind of careless with his pump site). This made for lousy blood glucose numbers, hours out of my life spent on the phone with Omnipod replacing pods, and just a lot of unnecessary frustration, both on my part and his. We tried various overlays with middling success, and most wipes/liquids I would add to the adhesive to give it extra staying power would make him break out in rashes. Since starting Simpatch+strap three months ago, we've only lost two pods due to adhesion. This is a load off my mind, truly a HUGE RELIEF. I think the strap is the answer here - it gives the site extra stability that other overlays can't achieve. The one drawback to these that I could see would be applying them if you don't have the use of both hands...such as areas on the back of an arm. I'd suggest using a "phone a friend" option for that, as these really need the use of both hands to apply unless you're super dextrous. Also, these really are NOT that hard to apply...but you do need to apply them according to directions. Tear the perforation of the paper while leaving the paper on the adhesive. Only take off *one section* of paper at a time as you go around the patch, and smooth it out as you go. It goes on really well for us every time. If you rip off the whole paper at once, you're just asking for trouble.

Poor backing, causes problems
Iโm disappointed in these. Iโm giving them 3 stars because they do their job. They stick tight and hold my pump in place. The problem with them is the paper backing is perforated but not in any way for you to take the back off piece by piece. So you are required to take the whole back off in order to apply the patch. That is a huge problem when you put it on. You have to maneuver in a way that it doesnโt fold into itself and ruin the patch. Also, the patches smell like processed glue. The color is nice, but I will not be buying these again.

Good secure fit.
I use Sim Patch with both with my Omni Podโs and my Dexcom G6 CGM. The style of this particular over tape is unique and very beneficial in that there is an additional strap that sticks around the device that youโre wearing. Wearing old fashion Omni Pod over tapes without the center strip is not nearly as conducive to secure a device for long term wear. In the past I have accidentally ripped a few Omni Pods right off my body. I can be a little rough sometimes I forget that I even have a insulin pump device type on my body. IE:Toweling off after a shower pulling my shirt off or pants down wherever I have it placed the device. It may get caught by something that just pull it off my skin. These can be very expensive mistakes when you consider the cost of an Omni pod or a Dexcom G6. After I started using the Sim Patch tape, Iโve had no problems and Have not ripped anything off my body by accident. I feel more confident when taking a shower or going swimming or any physical activity that I may do because I know the pod or CGM is securely on there. The Dexcom G6 needs to stay on for 10 days and I live in a very hot climate which is not conducive to any adhesive staying on for very long. So, for maximum hold, I use Skin Tac as a prep for the Sim Patch. If placed right where it needs to be, the Sim Patch isnโt coming off until you want to take it off. Considering its purpose of holding high dollar medical electronics to your body, the price is extremely reasonable. And I must change my Omnipod out every two days. Which by that, I mean that I go through more Sim Patchs than most people. Putting it on your body May be a little tricky especially depending on where you put the device. My spouse helps me place the Sim Patch as it needs to be. I highly recommend this product for anyone who need a secure over tape for the Omnipod or the Dexcom G6.

Does the job and doesn't come off
My husband is very active and the Omni-pod kind of wiggles around by itself. Add one of these and that thing is not moving. The only caveat is that he can't put them on himself very well, depending on the body location. If the adhesive side gets stuck together you'll have to start anew, and the adhesive side is hard to get off MY fingers. I can't speak to whether these are difficult to take off... my hubby has tough skin. They certainly don't come loose in the 3-days he has them on (exercises, sweats, works on the car, etc.).

Significant swimming adhesion improvement over other adhesives
This works well for extended time in water swimming, etc. I applied Skin Prep, Pod, then SIMPATCH. Pod was applied to back of upper arm so I also covered patch with a Lycra like armband by DIABAND. Very pleased.

Product works great with Omnipod but significantly overpriced
This is the patch we use to be sure that my athletic teenaged son's Omnipod stays on throughout soccer, basketball, water sports, and any other rigorous activity. We've used lots of other patches but this is the only one we've found with the cross bar. Without the cross bar, my son's pod will pop up in the middle so that the cannula comes out even though the adhesive remains in place. I would give it 5/5 except for the excessive price for what is essentially a bandaid. In short: great product that works well, but vastly overpriced for what it is.
