Does this help prevent nails from splitting down the middle (not just peeling or breaking)?

Actually I was not impressed with this product. It was not thick at all. Just the same thin consistency of any clear top coat. It was a bust so I threw it out. Sorry but I cannot recommend this product.

After applind the two coats when you use the nail color should you use kertain as a top ?

When applying in the next 3 days, should it be removed completely first & then reapplied, or over top of existing layer??

You reapply over existing layer. You take it all off and apply a fresh coat about every 7-10 days.

does this fill in ridges?

No. There are ones specifically for that, but this isn't one of them. This will help strengthen though to grow the ridges out faster.
