The delightful third installment of Sarah's Scribbles by Sarah Andersen, winner of three consecutive Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Graphic Novels & Comics ". . . author Sarah Andersen uses hilarious (and adorable) comics to illustrate the very specific growing pains that occur on your way to becoming a mature, put-together grownup. Andersen’s spot-on illustrations also show how to navigate this newfound adulthood once you arrive, since maturity is equally as hard to maintain as it is to find … " -- The Huffington Post Sarah valiantly struggles with waking up in the morning, being productive, and dealing with social situations. Sarah's Scribbles is the comic strip that follows her life, finding humor in living as an adulting introvert that is at times weird, awkward, and embarrassing. The third collection of Sarah's Scribbles comics includes never-before-published comics and an illustrated essay about struggles with sexism, personal growth, and the rewards and challenges of sharing your creative work with millions of readers online. Review: Wholesome fun - The first 75% of this book is what you’d expect. Silly comics, all funny, all charming. I loved all of that. If you liked Oddball, you’ll love this. The last 25% is called “Making Stuff in the Modern Era: A Guide for the Young Creative”. It’s a clarion call to the creative voices waiting to be heard, in danger of being silenced. It’s more a mix of comics and text, and honestly, I liked that part a lot better. She talks about the growth of the Internet from something where people went to have fun, to something where, more and more, people go to induce cruelty. Yes, she points out that for some groups, this is not a new thing. She talks about the artist's inner critic and how our judgment of what is good is always just one step ahead of our current skill level. She’s not wrong. She just puts an interesting, and in the end wholesome, encouraging, and upbeat. Review: Great comics, great artist, excellent material. - Sheer excellence. I've bought every comic book Sarah Andersen has made and have followed her on media platforms for years. I am biased. Herding Cats has a lot of references to 2016 and 2017, but the new material is as wonderful as always and covers a good portion of the book. I shared this with my household who don't keep up with the weekly comics but have read the other sarah andersen comic books that I have. It was a joy to see them giggle as they read through the book and found their own favorite comic. Sarah Andersen's work is a wonderful depiction of the emotions, trials, and joys that young adults of this millennium feel: exploring liberal problems with humor and graceful dishevelment. I recommend it to anyone who needs to smile.

Herding Cats: A Sarah’s Scribbles Collection (My Kindle Review)
The third entry in Andersen’s scribble-y series bring more comics that still show plenty of relatable and funny stories, with even a two-part lesson on how to find creativity as an artist. Don’t worry, there are cats in it. B+ (83%/Very Good)

Very Encouraging!
I don’t read many cartoon books, but the title caught my attention because I’ve been known to use the phrase, “It’s like herding cats!” I really enjoyed the cartoons. I found myself thinking, “she’s not wrong” throughout the book. When I got to the end and saw all the writing, I almost didn’t read it, but I’m glad I did. Sara gives lots of encouragement to young authors and artists. To me, that was the best part.

Every page = a chuckle
Sarah’s humor is simple but relatable, just like her art style. Both I and my teenage daughter absolutely love her comics. This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. She read through it immediately. She wants to be a comic book / graphic novel creator, and Sarah is one of her favorites. It’s also fun to reread these comics multiple times.

Herding Cats was the third graphic novel Sarah Anderson has released and it was honestly my favorite. I laughed out loud at almost every page and found it to be all too relatable. Her simplistic style is so captivating and I can't help but adore it. This book specifically celebrated what it's like to be an artistic introvert in a world full of deadlines and social environments. I especially appreciated the "Guide for the Young Creative" section at the end. It gave me hope that things will get better, it's normal to feel this way, and that I'm not alone.
