Personally, for me, they go under the cheek. So are not riding upward causing the 'thong' effect. Not sure this would be the case if Kim Kardashian wore them though! They are comfortable to wear and soft. Wash well too.

What material is the lace? Is there any other material than cotton?

Only the waist ban contains elastic,all else is cotton, l bought a size larger as l know things shrink slightly, these pants are more than what l expected, soft comfortable and cotton x
